Sunderland did OK as well, winning 5-0.

I think I’d remember that it was only 2-0 going into injury time and that was us playing with 10 men for 45 minutes. That is not to praise Rovers, but to caution against suggesting that Southampton are some all conquering machine. I would have them as maybe play-off contenders but not much chance of automatic promotion.

They had a poor start, including the trouncing at Sunderland. Over the last 10 games they're the best team in the league, and now unbeaten in 13 or 14. They are a very good side at this level, with some very good players.

I'd expect them to be challenging the top 2 by the end of the season, as they should be with the players they've got.

A very minor plus is every one of these results puts the notion that anyone is going to take JDT off us further away. These frequent losses and high number of goals conceded is going to drive suitors (and I dont think there are many to be honest) away.

We're 8th in the form table over the last 10 games. We've conceded 2 more than Ipswich in that time.

We've also got 6 or 7 first teamers missing, and a squad that cost less than many in the league.

Potential suitors will apply context to the job he has done. That's the intelligent thing to do.

s to the notion that JDT has run his course and it’s time to look elsewhere. I see it. Get in a seasoned pro who will buy experience and toughen up the team. So the interview for the job goes:-

He'd still have the same players, the same injury list, the same lack of a striker. the same paltry budget compared to most in the league

And who did you have in mind? There are lots of seasoned pro's out there who are out of work because they aren't very good at their job. Maybe Mowbray, Steve Bruce?

Or maybe Owen Coyle, Paul Lambert?

Some of you are absolutely fucking delusional if you think it's getting better than this under these conditions.

Hirst is interesting. He was scoring at Portsmouth before we got him and he's scoring regularly for Ipswich at the top of the League. For us he was utterly useless and didn't score a goal.

There has to be some story or other there!

So was he a bad signing or a good signing but one that didn't work for us for some reason?

He was injured for quite a while before he came to us and didn't have much of a pre-season. He was never up to speed with what JDT wanted from him.

And then put us under pressure for the remaining 30 because of our players thinking they are Brasil or something.

If we'd have booted the ball to the opposition corner flag it would have been a better option than playing the most obvious pass in the world to a man who's got two behind him.

Why are we taking risks when 2 or 3 nil up and cruising?

That's how they're told to play. Risk v reward. Considering what he has to work with, injury crisis, lack of spending, and also considering the league position both this season and last, it's working.

If our home form was better we would have got plenty more on last night and you’re kidding yourself if you think otherwise. The performances and results have been dire.

I think JDT is ok, Mowbray got pelters for similar results. I’ve seen words like ‘sensational’ and ‘miracles’ on here to describe JDT.

League wise I think we are about where we should be based on our squad. I am just not enjoying going to Ewood at the moment but hopefully it picks up once we get some of the walking wounded back.

    Mogga fanboy alert!

Imagine the winless runs we'd be enduring under Mogga if he had this injury crisis to contend and a team without the likes of BBD, a fit Dack and AA.

    Doesn't bear thinking about it.

JDT is doing a splendid job with far less resource than Mowbray ever had.

  7. An excellent 3 points. We were in complete control till we gifted them a goal. Moran was fucking awful -  young players be like that!

Rovers were out on their feet for the last 20 mins. Half the team fell to the floor at the final whistle.

Both Wharton's were good, as were Tronstad, Pickering and Brittain....but Wahlstedt was MOTM for me. An excellent performance from a young keeper.

We are doing brilliant, today we went toe to toe with a very good team, their quality shone through..

Personally really enjoying the effort and skill / way the team is playing, feel very proud of the boys... will be gutted once JDT moves on.

    Couldn't agree more.

  9. If we had James and Summervile as our wingers we'd be in the top 6 comfortably. Instead we've got an average full back and an inexperienced No10 as wingers...and no established striker.

Still, only a few points from the play-offs, a full team to return from injury and we've still got an excellent manager. it's just a shame it's amateur hour from the Board and owners.
