  1. Off to see The Doors (of the 21stC) on Thursday at Wembley Arena. The fact that there's only 2 original members (and of course, no Jim Morrison), means they're little better than a "tribute" band to many people

Very much like the current Guns 'n' Roses set-up. It's just Axel Rose and some mates. A friend is always banging on about how he saw them at Leeds two years ago. In fact he saw a bearded, obese Rose and some guy wearing a KFC bucket on his head.

  2. My cousin was the guitarist in Catatonia. But before he reached that zenith, he and his brother were in a Cardiff band  called The Crumb-Blowers. They wore see-through macks and wailed incoherently (sometimes in Welsh) Surprisingly enough they didn't last long.

On a lighter note the Fun Lovin' Criminals are coming to the my Union on the 22nd February. Brilliant stuff. :tu:

  3. Ah, come on Matt, even a hardened Scum-hater like yourself much realise that Houllier is worse, god I hate him at least RFW has a decent record to back up his preposterous drivel, Houllier always has that sly furtive look on his face too, not to mention the fact that he's f***ing French  :<img src=:'>

I suppose your right. We are ALL very aware of United's 'towering' achievements over the last 100, sorry...10 years. Houlllier, has very little to be smug about if recent league achievements are the marker of success.

But hey folks, Neil Warnock may be in our division soon...

  4. One rule for him and one rule for the rest, has taken over from Ferguson as the biggest w****r in the premiership.

Not quite. Did anyone hear Ferguson's comments after the Chelsea match on Sunday? Apparently the scum 'controlled the game' and were 'unlucky' to lose. ???

    What a plonker.

  5.  The tabloid media whip things up  but in all honesty who actually thought we were going to win 2002?   I certainly didn't and nor did anyone else who actually knew what they were talking about .

Well then, I'm not really directing my comment at you am I? ???

I don't 'have a problem with England fans' but I suppose it helps your point.

  6. - Don't you just cringe during the football World Cups or Euro Championships, when non-supporters start giving it large about footy when they blatently have no prior knowledge of the game. These bandwagon riders are doing the same with rugby.

Spot on. Although this WC has not attracted the masses who appear when the nation is gripped by the 'we're going to win it' hysteria, every two years.

Blimey. Do you get that a lot in Northern Ireland?

Fortunately (and obviously) we don't. Instead we watch from across the water in horrified awe as every man, woman and dog, spirals into a state of uncontrollable and blind expectancy.

  8. EVIL 17 GOOD 20

What more is there to say, except well played England,  though it's a pity they didn't win by 20 points, which would have been a fairer reflection of the game.

The silence from convictland is deafening though not unexpected. Ungracious in victory, churlish in defeat...

Traits brought over the sea by all those bread-stealers long ago, no doubt. ???

  9. Being drunk and falling asleep at a radiohead concert is probably a blessing in disguise.

In other music news, Busted have complained that being labelled a boy band is offensive.   Much like their music.

God, isn't that right. They are shee-ite, and pretentious shee-ite at that.

Its good job your not going to see them then isnt it! As your not theres no need to get so upset about them is there.

I'm hardly getting 'upset' about it. ???

Cocker, that was the first thing that I noticed about Busted; no wires, no amps...no drums.

As for Busted, they are f**king hilarious.

  11. Not all of us part-time, fair-weathered fans can get to games that easily. Many of us have water in between home and Ewood. Do no create a dichotomy between the fans who do go to the Stadium and those that can't. We who watched the game on Sky have as much right, and as good a perspective on that utterly appalling defeat, as every supporter.

  12. I think any of the newer fans, surrounded all their lives by Liverpool and United supporters (that in itself is a test of one's resilience), did well to sustain their support throughout those two years in the wilderness.

Admittedly we don't appreciate what it was like in the  pre-Walker era yet the contrast with our glory years was stark and painful.

As someone who rarely if ever had or has the opportunity to visit Ewood and refresh any waning interest in the club, my allegiances were severly tested (perhaps more than others) in those two years. Yet what was the alternative? To switch teams? That should never be an option.

Peanuts in comparison to the above tales of following our glorious Rovers I know, but still that's my take on it. :tu:

  13. I am very impressed with The Darkness. At first I thought they were some sort of parody act, but the music is actually very good.

I have been considering buying the Deftones new album for some time. I really liked 'Minerva.' :tu:
