Sparky Marky doesn't sound much fun
He really is quiet boring with his views on David Dunn
His constant negativity on all things Blue and White
Makes me think he is a dingle
Because he doesn't half talk Shi....

Been in most of them at some time or another and notwithstanding ownership / chef changes the Bukhara was imo always a cut above all the others. Unfortunately the hygiene issue has spoiled it for me.
btw... Sharzan imo provides curry for middle class white people. Nothing wrong with that of course cos the objective of any business is to make money and that must make piles of it! It's just not for the more discerning diner seeking authentic IndoPak cuisine.
You're just trying to be controversial now.
-
A good rating BWR but unfortunately it appears to be more through fear and pressure than by free will and choice. The entire issue imo is cos the owners misjudged public reaction and intolerance to their slovenleness. There are far too much competition from IndoPakBangla restaurants around these parts to fly full on inagainst hygiene regulation. As I said I rate the food at the Bukhara but it'll never quite taste the same again in our household. Your Uncle has learned a harsh lesson about how long it takes a restaurant in this country to earn a good reputation and how quickly (and easily) one can be lost. He could sell it to new owners but the bad will would be carried on after the sale in the minds of very many people.
This is correct.

Don't do it mate, according to the authorities this isn't the cleanest establishment to eat in.....dirty kitchens and all that....
Sharjan is a different level.

The only possible downside I could say is the service, however good it was, perhaps was a little too prompt.
Was there any "pinging" coming from the kitchen....?

Had lunch at Beeches in Standish....what a revelation, very nice food...and very reasonable...me and the misses were well full and had a drink each and it all came to £16.....definately recommend.

Thats an unfair comment Sparky Marky and you really should retract it. History is a cross most establishments have to bear but new owners have no link to previous ones and should not be judged on what has gone on in the past. I can guarantee that the Horden Rake (now Oyster and Otter) and the Clog and Billycock served godawful food until Jocelyn Neve and the Ribble Valley Inns took over and now they are dining places of real quality. Would you still come out with that so blithely if Delia or Fearnley Whittingstall etc had taken over./quote]
Just my experience before the current owners took over and now you have confirmed that the new owners aren't much better, therefore I am correct in my analysis that the Butlers has been serving poor fayre for yonks.
I've never been but The Yew Tree took an absolute pasting on Tripadvisor initially and then suddenly started to get glowing praise. Quite a few people I know have asked how well the people making the more positive comments know the family??
I have eaten there and it's pretty average.
