I went to the Millstone yesterday for the first time....Fish and Chips for me and them Duck Spring rolls and them Accy Chipolatas.....decent ale too...not as busy as I thought it would be at 5.00pm on a sunday....we didn't know which to go to, millstone or fieldens, but found the millstone first....

Friend of mine said last night that he had the best Fish & Chips he's had for 20 years at Fieldens.

I wonder where he had fish and chips 20 years ago...

Never even heard of it, but I'm sure I'll be whizzing over there for a try in the near future. Menu looks tempting.

Only gripe was £4.20 a pint of lager shandy.

On that basis I would not enter the establishment. Pish takers.

Went there today. Spectacular building but unspectacular fare imo although wife and daughter thought it was good. My judgement may have been influenced by the size of the portions. In fact thinking more about it it definitely was.... it's what I call a cheese butty restaurant cos when you land home you need a cheese butt to fill up.

You ever tried Chayophreya in Manchester...just round corner from JO Italian.? Top notch eastern fayre.....
