  1. My invites to the Vermillion have all been freebies of one sort of another so If you pay main menu prices then your expectations will be higher.. Love it when I get invited. Its part of a seafood import company. Its restaurant supplying Cash & Carry warehouse open to the public next door and worth a look.if you ever go in the daytime.. Open when Sunday buffet is.on...

  2. Sunday buffet at the Vermiilion.was great as.usual,,Thai food was perfect.

Indian food good but Thais is what it excels at .Anyone wanting an Indian binge can try the eat as much as you want buffet at the Nawaab on Stockport Road Levenshulme...but be warned ..it massive and always heaving. Its mass catering with dozens of choices so not 5 star food but a good experience if you've never been before leaving you with stomach stretchmarks..

    ..

  3. Been 7 times & .I give 10/10. Its owned by one of the biggest Importers of Far East Seafood in the Uk .Its big There are more smaller homely places..

As for footballers being there.. having a Thai binge on a Friday night isn't usually be part of prematch prep for Saturdays Game. then one ex Rover does spring to mind who makes me often wonder

I would like to add that JitadraThai Restaurant,Tatton road in Sale,South Manchester opposite Library(see trip advisor) is one such smaller homely place...Sunday Thai Buffet is about £10...Not as Grand as the Vermilllion but charming nevertheless..

  4. Saw Motley Crue and Alice Cooper at Manchester arena recently...Def Leppard Whitesnake and Black Starr Riders on there together on 15 December 2015...Classic rock making a come back on the radio..Planet rock and Real Xs are the radio stations to tune into if you like this type of stuff..Send them your 20 fav tracks from these type of groups and they may just play an hours of it or you..Sent about 12 lists and they've.Done few of mine over last year.....They emai you if you are selected...

  5. Like Raleigh..For years had a Raleigh royal ,then a Raleigh pioneer trail both made in Nottingham... for big tours, now have an old Dawes galaxy tour but prefer the Raleigh Royal..I like folding bikes nowadays ..... can take on planes trains buses and in a taxi..and just keep em in the car boot

  6. Work in City centre Manchester and see lots.of "Fixed wheel nuts"as they are called.Used initially by bike couriers.who pedalhell for leather..less components to breakdown. one told me....You see bikecouriers in NewYork handing onto cars..Now a fitness fad..See lots of commuting in Manchester centre where its flat.....two spockets on some..you .turn the wheel round for easier gears

Brakeless cycles.as per the photo ...you see em at the Manchester velodrome....There s a taster session open to the public for £15 where they provide the bike and safety brief how to ride it ...Its exciting stuff..espec when you see how high it is..No brakes prevent you slowing down on those high steep bends which require a minumum speed.. if someone in is blocking.speed up instead and overtake on the outside..

  7. Visited Korea a few years ago...Kyongu.old capital,.Pusan and Cheju island.(think it was Englands Base camp during the world Cup).perfect for cycling on that island..Autumn colours and 1000s of honeymoon couples in colourful kimonos wandering round the parks on Cheju...Was Offered to join bulogi banquets as is The custom I believe ...Approached constantly by everyone wanting to practice their english..so found it a friendly place..In Soeul found most travellers were TEFL teaching english flitting between Korea and Japan if their visas expired...They were making good money doing it too..

Its a short cycle trip to Northern Ireland ,Sustrains Route 93 for me next .though..

  8. I cycle to Ewood each match and in city centres a lot.. .Its abouts 2o minutes by bike but by car + parking up and walking = One hour.so Im up on the deal ..The secret is riding defensively..and with high visiblity gear using bike lanes if theres any ...Reality is in a car V bike in a collsion there is only oine winner despite the right and wrong. who is to blame .A nervous cyclist is a safe one..relax and thats when we are likely to get.in trouble .........Motoiists rage against other motorists so the rage thing is there anyway so if it aint a cyclist they want to have a fume at, it will be someone else...prob the next car that cuts them up...or does nt give you a thank you wave if you let them in...

Always said if we ever get to Wembley I would cycle it there, ,I would need 2 nights stop over to do the 220 miles

and Heres a cyclist to rage at.

  9. Check also where the puncture is in relation to your tyre..it gives a clue to the cause..it might be the rubber rim taope between the spokes and inner tube may be worn and not protected the tube so that causes a bump to give you a puncture..Pinch puncture from not having enough air your tyre. going over a bump will be caused by the rim.Rim may have a rough edge too maybe caused by tyre levers over time etc.. so that may need sanding smooth..You can buy pre slimed innered tubes which self seal on puncture from most bike shops..Tyres with a kelvar puncture resistant rim like Scwable Marathon help but they can be tough to get on and off..Keeping the tyre hard and check this more often is prob best..Also having bald tyres wont help

  10. For anyone you doesnt feel they have club level fitness,Go Skyride is very active this time of year for casual social cyclist...Lots of short social rides on offer each sunday in Blackburn Preston Blackpool and Manchester areas for all abilities with tougher Ride strong options for those who want them.(Ride strong + is very tough)..Bolton area offers quite a lot at the moment...Bolton has its own town centre skyride in September..Blackpool offers the new Blackpool to fleetwood coastal cycle path ride and Ride the Illumination Lights for bikes only in the week prior to switch on..

  11. Manchester skyride is 15th August this year I think for anyone wanting a similar/repeat of the recent Mcr ride..Last year it was Castlefield to Mancity.and Back but under the Masncurian way ...About 4000 on it...Do as many loops as you wish..The dream one for me is the London Brighton.BHF ride...28000+ on that one

  12. I tend to watch a lot of films, would'nt class myself as a movie buff but I like to try every movie of any era, my old man blagged me to death to watch an older film with Burt Lancaster in called Local Hero, I have to say I have watched this film about 20 times now, I absolutely love it, the scenery, the storyline, the actors are all top notch.

If any of you guys have'nt watched it please give it a try, it has become one of my favourite all time movies as it really is a work of art, so many films made this day and age wont even come close, it is truly heartwarming.

Its a film by Bill Forsyth and seen it...Others he did at the time with the same feel good factor are Gregorys Girl(with a cute Clare Grogan) which I like more to be honest and better still... That Sinking feeling(original Scottish hard to find nowadays,Beware the Amercian voiceover edition of this which ruins it).All the same young Scottish actors more or less..

  13. Watched "Killer Klowns from Outer Space" tonight.

    Forgot how fantastic it was.

Looking to find "The Stuff" another solid horror comedy.

I blame watching Troll 2 for getting me on this idiot horror train.

    /quote]

Best comedy Horror Ive seen is Revenge of Billy Kid...Starts off Old Mcdomald had a farm and on his farm he had a goat..Lots of Dingle like Chararcters in it
