  1. With out last few results, the fixtures ahead and our injury list one would hope that we've simply entered our worst run of the season and just have to get through it, but it is very, very hard to see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Also when the going gets tought - we have to get tough as well. Screw what others think, we need to get the "bully" tagline back and fight out the results. Many of our players just seem too mellow for the premiership, and now that Savage is out we've pretty much got no fire in the engine. Hughes needs to tell the players that things are getting serious and results won't change just like that.

  2. on the 30th mminute mark - stone cold, 100%, no questions aksed penalty for us - not given

a few minutes later - no way in hell could that be given a penalty - guess what - penalty vs us. and the sad thing is that that kind of non-existant penalty has been given many times against us. when the ball is cannened off a hand but is not going goal-wards YOU CANT GIVE A GODDAMN PENALTY !!! what are our players supposed to do ?? disappear into thin air ??

we need to turn this around 2nd half or a disaster is at hand. no points in last 3 games, no points in next two, and i havent had the courage to look further ahead into the schedule

  3. Why are we even out there on the field with this mentality ??

West Ham are as bad as their form suggests, but as scripted we're just calmly and quietly giving them everything they want. The defending for Sheringham's goal did not exist, an 80 year-old man would have scored. Up front we have done nothing dangerous, and no matter where we get the ball we always look to just hoof it up. Peter is getting involved in a lot of things, unforunately including a few good set pieces that he wasted. We're missing Savage to the extreme, we're barely giving them a fight in midfield. Unless Hughes gives them a good hiding and we come out an enitrely different teem in the 2nd half, the predicted will happen.

  4. I must say I don't agree much with Hughe's tactics on this game. I like to see us do well in every competition, but we have many others to think about and were handed a crap draw anyway. Even Cheslea's 2nd string, had they played it, would have been favourites. We should have rested a few players and given others a chance, and whatever happend - happend. Instead now we'll be more tired for the weeked game and have got new injuries to key players.

  5. We've done good in this first half, but a few notes:

We're still maing mistakes in defence, and are giving Pool too much room on the wings. We're having severe difficulties with Pennant especially, and are giving them too many shooting chances. We really must mark the players tighter and chop the play down a bit.

Upront though we're showing some very good touches and Pool themselves are giving us a lot of room. We're still playing the long ball a bit too much for my taste though, we should try and ground it a bit more and get our strikers more involved. McCarthy and Nonda look real good.

Credit to Zurab for stopping an 100% goal, though we've had 2 disallowed. I dunno, this 2nd half can go either way....

Disappointing second half, we just didn't show up. The 2nd 45 minutes were pretty much a free-kick and corner-kick practise for Pool, every time they went forward the reff blew the whistle in their favour. It was impossible for Bellamy not to score, and of course he did, and to be honest Pool could have had more. I really think we should have attacked more, but still good job by the players. I would have taken a draw at Anfield before the game, so a good point.
