1. Both Badgers and hedgehogs live in and around Blackburn. both are nocturnal, however you are likely the see a hedgehog! they are plentiful in number and even venture into urban environments!

Badgers are much more shy, their sets, are not publicized and they are only fund in rural areas, your best bet would be to try and find some local wildlife centres/outdoor centres and see if they run badgers watching schemes. But be prepared for a long wait with little realistic chance of seeing any, they a very shy and will scamper at the slightest whiff of us humans!

  2. Annother offer of a bed for your stay, free of charge. Not near Blackburn, in Peterborough, but if willing to travel only 2 1/2 hours away, just me and the cat, and I will probably be working most of the time but a crash pad is a crash pad.

Plus great for visiting any other areas of the UK especially the big smoke AKA London, 1hr by train. PM if interested.

P.S. Offer open to all fellow posters if in the area. Just PM me

  3. all the remaining games are massive and will decide the 4Th, 5Th and 6Th place, this week no more than the rest. Sadly I think this could be the week (including Mondays farce) than our season comes back to reality with a bang! sad.gif

If we start with Dicov up front again and resort to the likes of Kuqui, his "goal" withstanding, we deserve to finish 6Th or 7Th for our lack of desire, we have to go all out in every game.

    Honest predictions:

Man United 1 vs 2 Arsenal

    Liverpool 2 vs 0 Bolton

    Pompey 2 vs 0 Blackburn

Spurs 2 vs 1 Man City

    huh.gif Hope I am wrong!

  4. Labyrinth by Kate Mosse (ISBN 0-7528-7732-1)

I found this to be a very entertaining read (700 pages in 3 days)! The plot centers on two female leads, and is set in medieval and modern day France. Similar to DVC (Read the times) it centralizes on the search for the "True Grail", although it lacks the detective/riddle solving premise of Dan Browns work it more than makes up with its more believable/enjoyable/thoughtfully theories on the Grails true existence! Fans of DVC should enjoy this as will those others who found DVC not to their taste. biggrin.gif

    Cell Stephen King (ISBN 0-340-92144-7)

A fairly standard affair from the King of goth horror, some how mobile telephones, sorry cells, suddenly give of an EMP pulse that sends those who here it totally stark raving loony!! The plot centers on one Clayton Riddle as he tries to make his way home across the US, to see if his son is OK whom of course has a mobile, dammit sorry Cell! Gory as always, if you like King you will probably like this.(398 pages in 2 nights) dry.gif

Want to Play?/Live Bait P.J. Tracey (ISBN 0-141-01132-7/0-141-01133-5)

A mother and daughter have teamed up to combine to differing styles of writing to create a most enjoyable read! both books have 6 central characters, 4 top draw computer programmers and two cops.

In the first, Want to play?, the geeks realize a bloody serial killer game, serialized on the web, is being played out for real on their local streets! they have to convince the coppers that they are not responsible and help find out who is! biggrin.gif

The second, Live bait, see the geeks exonerated in any wrong doings, and now using their geekery for the power of good! They devise a computer program/system for tracking and linking, seemingly un-related crimes, then then stumble on to a rather nasty set of events!!!... smile.gif

The Hit man Diaries Danny King (ISBN 1-85242-828-7)

Blacker than black comedy! It the diary of a hit man who is looking for love whilst training an apprentice, whose first job is to probably kill him! Laugh out loud funny read alone or be ready for some odd looks! 282 pages 8hrs no stop!!! laugh.gif

Witness To War Richard J. Aldrich (ISBN 0-552-15108-4)

A fantastic collection of diary extracts from those who lived through (and those who did not) WWII. set in chronological order it uses the diary extracts to paint a picture of the publics reaction to events as they happened in the war! fabulous late night or bathroom reading all the extracts are short and sweet, fabulous! (Still reading)

  5. I looking in my crystal ball (err actually more piny and wrinkly) foresee a goal glut!!!

each side down to 7 men from the kick off! (The ref forgets his place and tries to kick off him self, when tackled by players from both teams he throws his dummy and sends 9 off in one (including one of the linesmen)! did anyone see the Chelsea/Man City match last weekend? OMG!)

    12(5)-6(6) rovers!!!

    ROVERS

    Bellamy 11, 24, 44, 57, 87

    Reid 32, 76

    Todd 63

    Freidel 37, 78, 90+3

    WIGAN

    Thompson 1, 5, 15

    Bulloch, 31

    Emerton 19 (OG)

laugh.gif Well it would be "Entertaining!"

Would be happy with 1-0 and 3 points in the bag!

  6. As one who has lived through an American "brown elephant" the Big Dig here in Boston (originally about 6 billion, final bill will be 15-20 billion) the killer is that you will still have to pay for the repairs! Shouldn't the company who's poor design and build caused it have to pay? Bet you dollars to donuts they won't.

Not only that, they'll make more of a profit.

    392021

Not at all! The quote was a fixed price...any extra cost would be shouldered by the contractor! hence they have lost shitloads building it!

  7. Zurab is not premiership standard on his performance yesterday. We really missed Todd.

Our defence as a whole is still prone to being split open and exposing Brad, that is why his positioning is off, he has to make up for and/or predict just what the defence are trying to do!

We need two top draw defenders and one striker, then next season should be a lot more comfortable. And if you disagree...The fact that Ewood get so quiet and nervy kind of backs be up!

  8. just got back from the match! Bellers was fantastic!

The savage cards.... The first was deserved, a two footed takle wether you get the ball or not is a yellow card.

The second... Harsh, he was side on and had hi hand out! could easily be seen as deliberate, but from I was sat (Blackburn end lower) it was debatable! then again it was a big spread fingered hand that hit the ball,, his reation may have had more to do with the card.

Still a great performance... go down to ten concead an equalizer and still win!!! Well in the lads! biggrin.gif

  9. Looked a completely different side from the one at spurs last week.

For me, I think part of this came from the re-introduction of Pedersen on on the left. Don't get me wrong, I know Pedersen is a good player and chips in with a great quota of goals. I just thought that today he lacked presence on the left hand side, especially when you compare the presence Emerton provided last week.

I've not been over impressed with Brett in all honesty since his time with us, but feel he must be dissappointed to lose his place after last week. It was there for all to see again to when he came on against Villa, thought he played well.

Sit down and think about the difference in the side between last week and this week - it was Pedersen, and that is something that has to be considered. As valuable as he is we played much better with more balance when he wasn't in the side ph34r.gif

    390039

The difference was we did not close down villas play as we did against spurs, we gave them too much time on the ball with no or little pressure!
