  1. Can I just take this opportunity to say

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Typical attidtude of a sour faced bitter jock when most of us FOOTBALL FANS are cheering on all of the home nations. Or was it a religious thing? The amount of times England have won and Scotland lost and yet we don`t rub it in. I think it must be an inferiorority complex.

As for England, Fat Frank!?! He`s not fat. Is that a tabloid thing? His football abilty however is in question at this level.

Gerrard. Was he right or centre midfield caus the space on right midfield left by him was evident. Neville ran the whole pitch for the whole game on his own.

Crouch. Won nearly every flick yet not one player picked up on it.

Rooney. Why drop Crouch when Rooney is playing like this. Crouch was our only threat.

    Downing. You already know.

Anyway 7 out of 9 points. I`m sure we`ll qualify but.....

As for the jocks, I`d lower myself to the the bitter twisted religious level but it would be nice to see them there from a home nations point of view. Maybe it would even better Paul Gallagher or is he something to do with Souness?

  2. Some great points there Paul.

Back in the 90`s I had a company car, fuel card, no mortgage and therefore no home improvements to take up my time.

Now, I have my own car, no fuel card, a huge mortgage ( try living in Oxfordshire ) and lots of work to get done.

A day out for two of us at Ewood now takes up over £100 of our money and about 6-7 hours on the road.

I do not have the time or energy.

Another point, and it is a small point. Its lower BBE or nothing for me. Thats where the atmosphere is which you want to experience when you`ve come so far. However, the only tickets left are normally along the sides and down the front. I think drums and I think sod that.

I guess you could put me in the bracket of one of those that has helped the decline in attendances.

I have however, been attending 1 or 2 games a year since 1980 so at least I can`t be classed as a glory hunter!

We looked in to moving to Blackburn and the surrounding area just so we could get season tickets but changing your entire life for the sake of football is pretty hardcore and lets face it, Oxfordshire/Wiltshire is pretty damn nice.

As for the "fans" ? who live up north and go to the pub to watch the game.

It bloody infuriates me. Its Rovers or nothing for me. I am frequently invited by mates to watch Swindon and Oxford but although they are my local teams, its just not the same. I wish I could support my local team like so many fans in Lancashire can but to have that opportunity and then go to the pub I will never understand.

  3. Kuqi will rarely be 1st choice.

We know it and so does he.

However, all teams need a different option when plan A or even plan B are not working.

He was efffective as a sub last year and can do so again. If he is good enough for Sparky thats fine by me.

As for Benni, I don`t know jack about him but AT LAST.

  4. Sorry for being contrary on this (and on many things) but it's just my opinion.

I just detested the first. I wasn't expecting anything profound but was expecting something with a modicum of plot and less self-indulgence from certain actors.

I don't know if you've ever heard film critic Mark Kermode ranting about it but if you have, you'll know what I think of it because I agree with him totally.

But we are in a minority because the franchise has been a massive hit.

Its just a bloody harmless family film with no swearing or sex scenes and some people are looking for a deep plot!

Its just a bit of fun

    get a life.

  5. I don`t think anyone is denying the england set up are at fault for our dismal tournament.

However, this thread is about Ronaldo.

Its the english public that pay his ridiculous wages and if he is going to act in the way he did he surely old enough to realise that when he returns to these shores he is going to get it in the neck big time from the fans and players.

He made his bed, let the littlt git lie in it.

  6. As much as we are all dissapointed, I get the impression many feel the same as me especially Rev.

We knew we had the players but not the manager.

We know we have bluffed our way through to this stage a lot like Brazil have.

We never looked like winning it and are therefore not actually that suprised we are out which takes the edge away from defeat.

From the moment the squad was announced up until the pens we never really had a hope in hell did we?

I hope to god that it was not Mclaren pulling the strings. None of us wanted him as gaffer but he is so lets get behind him and hope Sven was shackling him like he did the players.

As for Sven, he cheated the Rovers and must have had something over the FA to have remained in position. 3 tournaments, 3 quarter finals when teams like Greece are winning. I don not know one English football fan who will miss him or give 2 hoots where he goes.

We carried on partying last night to celebrate his departure.

    Good riddance.

  7. The thing is, we are good enough.

Scolari has said said it himself today.....all the teams playing the pretty stuff ( Argies, dutch, spanish ) are sat at home....everyone else playing the ugly stuff are still there.
