1. Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but why (apart from the rather infamous Keane incident that actually had nothing to do with the injury to Haaland's knee, but I digress...) is it that the only 'perpetrator' named a Rovers player?

Particularly given that the injury was nothing to do with Jay's tackle anyway - he just fell awkwardly, like Smith on Saturday.

  2. Todd's 5'10" at best. Nelsen looks over 6', but it's hard to tell without physically standing next to him. Both are physically well build players, however, so that excuse by Mr Keeley doesn't wash with me. They're not going to be knocked off the ball by Campbell or Beattie, but what they failed to do was time their jumps and display basic communication skills between themselves and Friedel (the West Brom goal especially highlights this, though the entire Everton game is a pretty good example of how not to defend).

From the BBC website they are: -

    Todd 1.78m 5' 10"

    Nelsen 1.80m 5' 11"

    Khizanishvili 1.85m 6' 1"

  3. Saw the secong goal on SSN yes it was very good but who were they playing R+D aren't they bottom and the team stanley will be replacing in the fball league. He didn't set the world alight at Plymouth. Until he plays and scores for the first team regularly he remains as with alot of rovers youngsters promising and a more than capable lower league player.

Don't be too hard on his time at Plymouth. he signed and very shortly afterwards the manager who signed him, Bobby Williamson, was sacked, so he never really got a chance.

  4. Well, he has seen Wrexham play at 85 of 92 league clubs.

He has asked me to ask you, how many have you seen the Rovers play at ?

    384032

Clearly a real fan if he's been to that many. Actually I suspect that Rovers may not have played at 85 of the current other 91 grounds, but no doubt there's someone out there who knows?

I can only manage a modest 53 of the 92 (including Ewood) although I have been to both old and new grounds at a number of clubs and even 3 in the case of Bristol Rovers (although only to a rugby match at their currrent ground).

  5. I could well be at this one. I'm planning on bringing the new mrs and her boy to their first game. I'm in the process of creating a little rover, he is a chelsea fan at the moment but I'm working on him.

Just out of interest does anyone take their young 'uns to away games and how have they found it. It's his first game and I want to make it as enjoyable experience for him as possible. I'm toying with the idea of getting tickets in the family enclosure in the home end... just thought it might be a better environment for a 9 year old.

I wouldn't if I were you. Being a family enclosure won't stop there being some rich langauge and you will still have to pretend that you're Baggies fans. That could seriously confuse a nine year old. I would go for seats with the Rovers fans. If it's not sold out you should be able to move around a bit if you get stuck behind somone who won't sit down or stop cursing.

  6. Hate to bring this up but I have just seen the highlights and am rather upset.  If Utd get a Penalty why the hell did we not.  I am sick to the back teeth of this BLATANT favouritism, sick of it.  After Wigan last night and now this there is no one on earth can tell me these games are being refereed impartially.  Now what can be done to end this.

Also who was it that scythed down Savage and kicked him in the head as he fell and what became of that incident.

So ###### off right now I am considering giving up footy, it's become a sick joke.

    378198

The coverage just finished on ITV was laughable - MUTV would have been more balanced. Savage was painted as the guilty party tonight for Smith stamping on him, Van Nistelrooy kicking him and then running his studs on his head and then Ferdinand clipping him round the ear. Will be there be a big fuss about dirty United as we got last April in Cardiff? I don't think so...

  7. if ManU is weak in the midfield due to injuries, and our strike force is injured, this match almost begs for us to play a compact ball-holding style.  After all a 0-0 gets us through.  Although ManU has got a lot of firepower in the front line, if they have to drop back and get the ball themselves, I'm not overly worried about the attack.

I guess I'm saying I wouldn't be surprised to see a 4-5-1 today, with reid, toogs and sav all in the middle disrupting any midfield possession ManU try to string together.  I'd rather not see it, but I can understand that thought, especially late in the match if we are up or its still 0-0.  I'm thinking that the Axe might figure in this one...

The logic for this would be perfect, except that a 0-0 score will see us knocked out on the away goals rule (after extra time). We have to score at least once to win...

  8. sorry Paul, I rarely disagree with you but it has been at least -1c all day in Hoghton. The Club must have expected that it would get colder when the sun dropped; it usually does!

I was at the ticket office at 3.00 (buying extra tickets for tonight!) and it was +3c on my car gauge and has been above freezing wherever I've been from mid-morning.

  9. Its brilliant thinking.

Finally wont have to pay the sodding booking charge for cup tickets. And Ill be there at about 445 so hopefully not much of a que.

Just got back from Ewood and the queue had almost gone. They said they had been very busy all day and it looked like their early day prediction of 20,000 tonight would be well beaten...
