  1. AS ......There lovely tho....but lets see who is the 1st one to it?

    i propose hannah....shes back !!!!

Abbey, I'm really sorry I can't marry you!

I never went anywhere so how can I be back?

Just more time on my hands at the moment.

  2. Another from the late Mackay era, I think; Gary Tallon. He came during the murky waters of 1991. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong as I'm not concrete on his arrival. I don't think he ever played in the first team, maybe ruling him out, but I used to watch the reserves quite regularly and he was a complete laughing stock. He was labelled as a Roy Keane type, but fell way short. The best laugh of the night was alwys when some fan in the crowd piped up with "here he goes, Gary Talent". Seriously bad, but never made it. I hate to think what would have happened if Dalglish didn't turn up.

I used to go and watch him every week at Springfield Park in the reserves. He was never going to make the first team but some of the others in that team were loads worse!

We used to have Thorne and Pearce up front. Well, neither of them could lead a line. Then there was Paul Harford and Lee Makel in the middle of the park, Josh Metcalf on one wing, think it might have been chris malone on the other and at the back we had Andy 'Animal' Morrison (Who i think is still playing somewhere) alongside moran or marker and then Tallon and Andy Scott as full backs. In goal it was usually Bobby Mimms.

Looking back, god they were awful. I used to demand that we went to watch them and my parents had to come to. It was always cold and raining and there was no potential, no talent, no nothing!

And why did i insist on going every week, no not Ian but ahhh Paul Harford!

  3. I've just finished The Currious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-time by Mark Haddon. Absolutely first rate.

For those that have never heard of it, it was intended as a book for teenagers but ended up winning numerous awards normally reserved for adult readers and was on the Booker prize list (although not the final shortlist).

It's about a boy called Christopher who has Asperger's Syndrome. Christopher finds a dead dog (killed with a garden fork) and the book charts his attempts to track down the killer of poor Wellington, as weel as numerous other unsavoury discoveries along the way.

It reads well for anyone who likes well-written character studies, but gives a very different slant on disabled people and will have extra appeal to appeal with knowledge/experience of learning disability. The reviews on the cover are from big name sources and all rate it very highly, with the New York Times critic even likening it to The Cathcher In The Rye.

Very well-written, very funny and very moving.

I bought that book yesterday. It sounds really good and im really looking forward to reading it.

I'll let you know what i think.

  4. Bloody ell Hannah. Where you been? Surely you haven`t been asleep on the local loco all this time!?!

Don't do trains anymore, at least I dont fall asleep in the car!

Been busy buying an appartment, working very very hard to get promotion and drinking lots! No time to come on here anymore.

I may be tempted to pop in to see you all but we will see.

  5. I went to that game on Sunday and was sat with all the Liverpool fans.

They way they whinged the whole way through that match was an absolute joke. At every oppourtunity they were yelling to send players off and were not happy about any desicion despite the fact the ref was giving them loads of desicions that they did not deserve.

The atmosphere was awful considering the number of people there.

  6. I have to say that I didnt have any trouble last night. I walked past all the celtic fans and they were singing rude songs about us but they werent violent or anything. I was sent flying when a drunk Celtic fan fell over but that was just funny because he couldn't stand up at all.

What did concern me last night was the reaction of a few in the Blackburn end when Celtic scored. I know that by jumping up and cheering you take your life into your own hands but beating the crap out of him was probably a little harsh! Pushing him down the stairs, well i wasnt impressed.

Anyway, we are out and thats that really! Just wish Rovers had looked more up for it. Some of us risked a lot to go and watch them last night!

  7. I didn't get despite phoning from 10am till 11am and then from 12am till finding out it had sold out.

The worst bit is the fact that Claire the other Year 2 teacher had all 60 whilst I sat at the back pressing redial. COuldn't get through for that whole hour and then started again as soon as lunch time started! Head teacher has found out what we were doing and has summond me to her office tomorrow so I guess I will be getting ANOTHER telling off and for what! It certainly wasnt worth it in the end!

Im so jealous of you lot going and dream of rovers having another away leg that falls in my half term, not likely but i can dream!

I got through at 12.35 so they can only just have sold out.

I know whats done is done now but the clubs handling of this is @#/?. I don't go to every away game but I don't miss that many. I am really @#/? off at the moment with them and we say this everytime but nowt ever seems to be done about it.

Enjoy it all the lucky sods that are going!  :unhappy: and give them a cheer for me!

  8. There is of course a one time regular of this site (whom I haven't seen around for a long time) who until this season had both a Celtic and a Rovers season ticket and managed to watch both away ... and even found time to take in the odd Norwich (I think it was Norwich anyway) game.

Macky > I'll not be camping, but I'll be outside very, very early.

I spoke to her outside Flanagans just before the Sofia away game, but I don't think she still has her season ticket.  Then again, i'm sure she will get in somehow.

If your talking about the same person as i think you are (except im drunk and not really read this properly!) then she does still ahve her seasont ticket im sure! May be not for celtic but definatly rovers

ANd yes i know i spelt definalety wrong!
