  1. It's only one game, of course, but I didnt rate Pears. Mostly I feel his positional sense is wayward. He gets drawn to the ball too easily. Absolutely caught in no man's land for the first. Looks like a major area of needed improvement for him. His best work was in stopping us putting it in our own net. He did react well to that.
  2. So, we have had games where we scored 4, 5, and 4. But we have also conceded 3, 3 and 4.
  3. Average but take their chances. They wont be the last team to do this to us. Probably not the last in the next few weeks...
  4. Ever heard of anyone scoring 25 goals at this point of the season, outside the junior leagues?
  5. Not really. It was absolutely fired in. Had very little time to react and did what he could.
  6. That was a ludicrous decision from the ref.
  7. His dad is Tony's mate from their Boro days.
  8. That first goal is the worst I've seen us ship in a long time. Dire all round.
  9. Think apart from being quick to seize on errors at the back and one fine finish, they look like a bang average midtable side who have come to stifle as they know our weaknesses, personally. So just the goals really. Apart from the goals its pretty much like the Cardiff and Forest games. We need to be able to start figuring these teams out pronto.
  10. You lucky bastard. That's how we're looking.
  11. Believe it was the lad who displaced Nyambe...
  12. Would like the commentators to stop blaming Reading's clinical finishing. The first two were easy as hell. The third was a great strike. Our defending is unacceptable. Still.
  13. Well that's that. Fucking clumsy from Douglas.
  14. I can't say I sure his optimism whilst he keeps dropping him from the side. Nyambe would be a fool to sign another contract right now. So I guess I'm hoping he's a fool.
  15. Tbh that seems an excessive reaction to what we have seen so far. Made two fantastic saves, a few decent ones, a bunch of simple ones. Looks confident, passes well. Handling has looked slightly suspect at times, and I'd argue partial culpability for a couple of the goals we have shipped. Looked solid and an upgrade on Walton but the jury is still out for me.
  16. I feel like this wasn't meant as a reply to my post?
  17. Even more worried now. The mighty Rotherham were allowed to have the ball, more than any other team had allowed them. You can be absolutely certain they will play the same way against a team that have handed out three heavy drubbings already but been stumped by teams playing that exact way. And that really won't play into our hands, especially against a defence who have only conceded one. I think we're going to be praying for the lucky bounce of the ball on this one, so we can grab a goal and force Reading to open up.
  18. What worries me is that yesterday Reading won 3-0 with 36 percent possession and less shots than their opponents. That's exactly the kind of trap we fall into. Throw in that they've only conceded one goal, and this becomes another big test. They're almost certainly going to come with a plan to spoil our play.
  19. Problem is, 4 of those are young players we own who could still improve. At the end of the season, if we're promoted then fantastic, but if we're not we lose the loanees, have a lot of contracts running down, and didn't build some of our assets enough. Hopefully it's the former outcome.
  20. He really was. He was the worst player in the team on the day.
  21. Buckley was fucking awful last time out. Right now I would only start him as a last resort.
  22. Yep. Because it's a really goddamned easy way to beat us.
