  1. One more example of justice according to UEFA.

Strict punishment without any evidences. Mijailovic could say something because he is little crazy but even referees didn't notice anything. You can't believe one player only becasue he is famous.

I think Nikola regrets that he didn't hit McCarthy bu head - it's only 3 games banned.

Without evidence? You obviously don't know much about what happened. The referee reported it too.

Next uefa should take stand on what happend with fair play idea in last minute of the game but I don't believe the do it. Referee didn't

notice the foul but as we see it's not argument. This time at least

we have a proof in form of tv tape.

I don't actually know what you're talking about, but you're actually complaining about some random foul right? Pretty sure some of our fouls got ignored too. And frankly, we get screwed by refs on fouls all the time.

As for that other guy who said our players are girls- do you care to explain what is girly about combatting racism? Some of the bravest people who ever lived were brave precisely for doing that.

  2. I cannot ever remember seeing Rovers play at home without wearing the famous blue & white halves :brfc:

Has this ever happened before?

    Historians??

This is pretty ridiculous. Our opponents play in red and blue stripes, so we're not going to wear our blue and white home kit, but our almost purely red away kit?! What's wrong with Basel's own away kit? Doesn't that come into play first?

  3. on topic

why should uefa do anything considering a section of our fans sing racist songs at every game

Because Benni was racially abused. It's nothing to do with him that a section of our fans sing that rubbish. The only argument that could be put forward is that the section of our fans doing it ought to be punished too- which I would agree with. It's like saying we shouldn't punish a murderer, because there are other murderers who don't get punished.

Glad to hear the guy has a 5 match ban, I doubt very much that Benni was making it up.

  4. If you can't beat the structure, make the best out of it; i'm gonna buy us a win with 20 bucks - 10 on west ham to win, 10 on a draw. Since fate hates me, surely the only other possible outcome will occur!

I reckon you'd be happier with a win and losing 20 quid than drawing, getting a mere point, and the lowest cash return (I'm assuming the odds for a draw aren't as good as for a WH win). So a draw it shall be.

  5. team

    Friedel

    Mceveley

    Emerton

    zurab

    henchoz

    bentley

    mokena

    neill

    pedersen

    mccarthy

    nonda

That's the final team? Assuming it is. I don't understand for the life of me why Pedersen hasn't been dropped to the bench at the least for Peter. I take it that it's Bentley in the centre and Neill on the right wing. Would seem more sensible to switch Neill and Emo, if not for the fact I'm scared witless of it spoiling Emo's form. Good to see McEveley back, I'd heard he was injured.

  6. We need to write a book, how to go from discussions of football to one-sided political commentary in 4 posts or less.

If I anted to hear discussions of how to fix the morrally corrupt youth, I'd read ICBINF (or whatever its called), here I thought we'd be discussion the racism claim Benni made that will be "dealt with" by UEFA in the next day or so.

Conversely, if you don't want to hear discussions about it, don't read them :P

  7. Not racist but a rather daft generalisation . This gentleman is a product of a society that has long ago lost any real values . He's probably had no real discipline in his life , no doubt the product of a broken home and the victim of an education system that has left people like him what I call "spiritually impoverished" . There are hundreds of thousands like him , black gang members , white trailor trash , call them what you like - their colour is irrelevant . They have all been betrayed by politicians who have followed extreme liberal policies for generations and have not the guts to admit that they were wrong all the way down the line . A disciplined education followed by a years national service and the gentleman in Krakow would not have felt the need to engage in an unusual form of window shopping - I'm sure of that .

At this moment I am watching the news coverage of the funeral of Jessie Jackson . He was betrayed as well .

Another sad example of our education system ....

You make some valid points Phil. Although I think you've perhaps taken the wrong line in terms of the solution and cause. I don't blame liberalism alone- the poor (largely blacks) weren't exactly aided by the conservative agenda of flooding the ghettos with crack cocaine. In fact they were starting to become very disciplined, spiritually rich people in many ways before that. However, they have certainly been betrayed by politicians- of all kinds though, not simply liberals. Although I agree that national service would be a great way of disciplining the youth in this country, I'd have great objections to them having to go to war for any purpose other than strict self defence of this country. Not the 'pre-emptive' defence of raping another country and killing hundreds of thousands.

  8. Tony Cascarino on "youre on sky sports" said Wham could beat us because "Blackburn aren't many places above Wham"

Hell fire, they are second from bottom with 5 points.

No no, he's right. We are a mere 9 places above them. Which is only just under half the league. And it's a crappy 7 point lead too. They've got 5 points in total, so they're clearly breathing down our necks. Pillock. Same goes for Cottee. I hope we smash them now (not that I didn't before), but unfortunately I can see it written in the stars also. I also think having a bet might be a good idea, as it will make me feel better later.

we really are a bunch of losers, arent we?:P

p/s: glad i'm not the only one to do that! most recently i did it against liverpool (ten bucks on a pool win and bellamy to score first); it worked cos we got a draw.

Not only did we get the draw, but Bellamy scored second instead! Fate hates you.

  9. I was going to quote favourite bits, but then I realised there were too many. Love the Portsmouth review, the bits about the penalties, the Henchoz comment, the Rooney bit...pretty much the vast majority. People in the library with me here at Keele must have wondered why I was laughing at a big block of text with scary foreign words like 'Blackburn' in it.

  10. Benni has absolutely no reason to pretend that this guy racially abused him. As for the closet racists, the ones pretending they're not racist that know deep down they are, you disgust me. Don't try to compare this to abuse of fat people. Fat people have never been rounded up and enslaved. They've suffered some abuse, but never on the same scale. Fat people are fat almost without exception because they eat too much and/or don't exercise enough. Black people are black because they were born to black parents. And plenty of other reasons that there is no cause to go into, because anybody who thinks this isn't despicable needs their head examined, or perhaps even blasted off.

  11. Another woefull performance when its really not needed...

Can you be suprised when fans dont turn up for matches when we put in pub team performances like this.

I mean we finally put in a good attendence and play woefully.

I just hope that sparky has some money to spend in january because if we keep playing like this a 12th - 13th place finish would be good...

Dont give me the better team lost rubbish, its goals that matter in a game and if we cant score them then we dont deserve to win.

Trully shocking that our 2 star signings of the summer missed penalties today, trully shocking...!

    :angry::(

Oh and to add, i cant believe Sparky is paying credit for that performance.

Yes we had long spells of ball posetion, but if you dont score with the balls you play then whats the point.

Roberts hasnt scored since he has arrived, benni has looked more like a midfielder up front, Nonda has looked ok in pieces of matches and the only strikers to come out of this season so far looking like there trully trying is franny and gally and they didnt even get a chance today.

One good thing about this game, nice to see Sergio on the pitch again!!

Look, I didn't see the game, but you appear to be the only person that thinks we actually played badly. From all the unbiased reports too. And the stats back up the suggestion that we outplayed them. Moreover we had a goal disallowed which- apparently- shouldn't have been. Almost all of your points seem very flawed- Benni '6 goals' McCarthy is more like a midfielder? Hmm. Mr 4th highest ranked striker in the actim index? It isn't like we just had possession, look at the stats. Clearances off the line THREE times. Bolton are just the luckiest scum in existence, and that's what they got, lucky. I absolutely abhor them. Only Man United can compete in the hate stakes for me.

  12. "That's great, tell him he's Pele and get him back on." - John Lambie, Partick Thistle manager, when told a concussed striker did not know who he was.

    "

To be fair, that one's clearly just a joke. The thing about stupid comments out of context is they can be jokes rather than idiocy- and I bet a few of the things in this thread are like that.

  13. As much as I would like to see the captaincy stripped from Neill for his completely unnecessary outbursts (For god's sake, why did he have to spout off about it now? If he's trying to force a move it would have been easier to do it in January anyway, without unsettling the team spirit and deriding the club's standing with him still having to play for months yet), I really don't think Hughes will take it from him. It would make it too obvious that it was only given to try to keep him, but furthermore it would risk increased disharmony in the squad, as Neill would probably have a right good moan about it to his team mates. However, if I were one of his team mates I'd be having words about now! And in conclusion- what a jackass.

Oh, and there'll certainly be no dropping of Lucas, that would achieve nothing and be an overreaction.

  14. It has been pointed out to the Sports Dept of the LET how wildly inaccurate that line is.

Rovers will be lucky to make £4 let alone £4m from the group stages of the competition.

I have to say, I don't understand what you're talking about, so please explain. How can Rovers possibly make a loss on this? We get some money from gates (season ticket holders go to home games for free though I heard? So ok, this would be lowered quite a bit for the home games and I don't know whether there is a 50/50 split between participant clubs), we get some money from TV (The Krakow game will be shown on Channel 5. One can only presume this gives us some money, even if not much, and the other three games are all more high profile than this one). With the exception of Francis Jeffers on his pay-per-play deal, and perhaps a few minor appearance bonuses some players might have wrangled into their contracts, our players are all paid weekly, rather than per game. They probably all have some kinds of bonuses worked in, but I can't see these being for anything other than goals and maybe assists, and no more than 5k a pop if that. Ok, we pay for a few plane tickets and hotel rooms for the players, but again, how much can that really come to? Especially considering we are offering executive packages to fans too, which I assume we sneak a little profit from. I can see how £4 million is a vast overestimation, but I completely fail to see how income can possibly be lower than outgoings from these four games, so please explain for me and anybody else who might be wondering.
