Yorkshire account for Root and Rashid (and occasionally Bairstow, although he shouldn't really) being away - like we do with Anderson and Buttler.

I'm not making a special case for Yorkshire but there's a lot more than that missing regularly with england t20s and odis included just as there are at Lancs.

Jesus wept....no wonder the football clubs dyeing a death without so much as a whimper.....

That rat Kean never got the boot he resigned on his own terms, after waging a public war against the fans.

He stabbed the previous manager in the back, stabbed the likes of Nelson and Salgado, to mentioned just 2, in the back and brought his mates into the club, who then took turns at destroying Jacks legacy, destroying local businesses and destroying this once proud town.

I'm almost lost for words we have some fans who would have that ******* rat over Mowbray, a manager who is simply out of his depth.

    I need a drink.....

Who said they'd have either as manager?

    Bonkers IMHO.

It's opinion. I think I find Mowbray worse because I want him to be a good guy. The guy sounds like so many men from my childhood; he comes from my home. It's therefore far more disappointing when he lets me and my team down. I appreciate that for some, if not most of you, Kean was far worse. I think for me it's the disappointment added to everything else. Kean was the more obviously villainous but then I very quickly knew he was. Mowbray appears a decent honest guy but then he lets you down again.

  4. I actually prefer Kean to Mowbray because at least most people saw through him fairly early on. It took a long time for him to go but we knew he would eventually.  I can't see a day when Mowbray goes, and some fans still seem to support/feel sorry for him. in Kean's day we still had the odd good player and we did at least get some entertaining football.  There were some decent stories about the players getting angry at Kean.  Nowadays they just go to sleep when Mowbray starts talking.

Did anyone there last night get a good view of our penalty shout right at the death? I thought it was one but didn't have a great angle at all (was in JWU). Annoyed a few fans to say the least!

I thought it was as much a pen as a lot I've seen and I was pretty much in line with it.  Certainly most in the BBE near me thought it was but then at that point we'd have shouted for anything I think.  I was surprised not to see it mentioned anywhere else.

PS. Just think, Rovers leading light is a teenage free transfer let go by Preston. It shows how good Dolan is and can be but reflects terribly on the rest of the team and on the management. Moreover, I think we're asking too much of Dolan. He's expected to be our main goal threat, our presser in chief and, then, tracking back in defence, when other forwards don't. He's talented but he will get burnt out and or injuries.

Found the Clitheroe team sheet the other day with Dolan playing. Amazing how far he's come so quickly but you're right. We should not be placing the main workload and the burden of expectation on him. What last night showed was that whilst our kids are reasonably skilful and willing they are not ready to face the rigours of Championship football week in, week out without the help and encouragement of some older, more experienced, hard working pros. They need a game plan they can believe in, a leader who encourages and covers for their mistakes and some more physical types to give them space to play.

  7. I wouldn't say I wouldn't go back but I wouldn't want to pay £32 to do so. For a fiver, whilst frustrating, annoying, downright infuriating it wasn't a waste of money. It got me out of the house on a night when I'd otherwise have struggled to find something to watch on TV as my husband doesn't like me watching anything he might want to watch together

  8. Agree with most of the comments here re the match. We started brightly, missed too many chances, got the goal that should have steadied any nerves and should have gone on to win. However, in the second half they went very direct, had some powerful runners, got a couple of lucky bounces and suddenly their tails are up and they score. After that we messed about, playing round the box, back to the keeper, messed up almost every pass and we all knew what was coming. And, to compound the misery, the ladies toilets were blocked and couldn't be flushed. At least I don't have a season ticket.

Best of luck to the fella. Absolute cracking player for us. 3.5 years a Rover and improved every year. Got a great deal for him as he was going into last year of contract. I have respect for him and will keep an eye on his career. Time to build and start again.

Nice interview with him on rovers website too.  classy.
