  1. Why should it be free? Rovers are a business, not a right. With the amounts that those locals lucky enough to have a season ticket pay each year, 25 quid is the least we can contribute for the honor of being able to listen to every match live.

I agree, and I'll most likely subscribe to RW when i get DSL installed at my new apartment.

But still, any free link is greatly appreciated biggrin.gif

  2. One worry with a rovers viewpoint is Morten Gamst Pedersen, he was RUBBISH! I've seen two full 90 min with him in the last week, and my God he has been very very poor.

Might be the disappointment of the season for us... sad.gif

Well.... I can't say that ANY of the norwegian players had a good game. A few player did OK, and the majority was.... well rubbish

  3. Interview with Mikel on TV2 in Norway now.

He say he was pressured to sign for ManU my Lyn director Morgan Andersen and two ManU officials

His agent Shittu says the same thing, and that there have been no meeting with Chelsea

He thinks he will return to Norway.

Morgan Andersen claims the pressure must be coming from his agents, and suggests that Mikels family is being threatend. Mikel denies any threats have been made against his family

    Who is lying?

One positive that can come from this case is a more restrictive use of agents. Could we hope for a ban against agents.... ph34r.gif

  4. Latest:

Lyn director Morgan Andersen doesn't think Mikel went to London of his own free will. When asked if he(Andersen) would go there, he said that the didn't dare go there - it seems quite dagegous to be there right now.

Lyn seems to be quite worried for Mikel, and don't think he will return to Norway.

It is also speculated if Mikel used a fake passport when traveling, since his (expired) passport is in Andersens custody.

  5. Many seem to think that this farce(sp?) is Chelseas doing.

The media asked Jim Ryan(ManU youth director) if he thinks Chelsea are behind Mikels trip to London. His answer:

As the case stands, we can assume that Chelsea are involved. It all seems like a scandal.

PS. My traslation of his answer

  6. Yeah something like that.

It is my understanding that the initial deal is in the ?3M region, rising to possibly about ?8M in the next few years. So it is reported by the media here at least

The jist(that has not mentioned earlier) of the lastest link is that

    - Mikel in London to meet with Chelsea

    - Ferguson not comeing to Oslo anyway?

    - ManU and Lyn will press charges against the agents, both in Norway and in England

  7. The Mikel-deal is turning into quite the soap-opera over here in Norway.

Here is a bried synopsis of events

-Mikel is supposedly on his way to Chelsea, stated earlier this year

-"I was misquoted" says Mikel later

    Time passes

-Mikel has a fantastic start to his Lyn carreer.

    - Man Utd signs the player i the highest priced deal in Norway ever. Formerly Carew to Valencia for about ?6M

    - Chelsea furious, claims Mikel was their to sign

    - Mikel reportedly cancells his contract with is agent prior to signing for ManU

    - Agents, yes plural, flies to Norway to discuss matters with Mikel and Lyn

-Meanwhile Mikel has been getting deaththreats from football fans and is in hiding.

    - Mikel is missing from the team meeting before todays cupgame.....Lyn is worried. He however shows up about an hour late.

    - 2 hours later Lyn calls the police to have them stop a car carrying Mikel and his agent.

    - Mikel is talking to his agent

    - Mikel now wants to go to Chelsea.... claims he was mislead by Lyn (to sign for ManU)

I can't wait for next weeks episode... tongue.gifunsure.gif

  8. Saw the game on TV last night and i must say I felt a little "robbed" after the game. Not "The Bolton Diver"-robbed, but I feel it was a game we should have had at least a point from.

Rovers were on par with Chelsea, if not better at times. This may be because they never really looked that much of a threat gongi forward after Robben went of. They had their chances but not the fast paced counter attacks that Robben provided.

I do think that Friedel is to blame for the goal, he should have gotten it. The defeat comes from us not being able to convert a penalty, and the geneal "can't score thingy"

    Friedel:

To blame for the goal, but not the defeat. Had a cople of good saves, and looked pretty solid after the goal. Not the Superman of two seasons ago, but still adept.

    Neill

Willing to go forward, and defensly improving. He had a good game. Not really excelling, but noe major mistakes either.

    Todd

Solid as ever! Got outrun by Robben for the goal, but who wouldn't be? I am extremly pleased that he has signed a new contract, and hope he doesn't get injured or looses his form this season. Got to be the fist name on the teamsheet. What did Souness think when he wanted to ship him out....

    Nelsen

One word: IMMENSE! Todd and Nelsen have got to play together next game too. Looked solid the entire game, and never looked like putting a foot wrong. To illustrate how Husghes has improved our defence, just look at Nelsens performance against Chelsea and compare it to any Amo-game....

    Matteo

Why? Why?!? Why does he play? I mean, anybody has to be better than this oaf. His distribution is not good, and can only be described with one word; Hoofing. He has no pace, and that means NO pace. He would be out run by a dead snail.

    Emerton

Is a good player, with skills. But this game he showed none. He seemed scared to take players on, and just stopped when he met a Chelsea player. His rossing was poor too. i'm sure he will find his form again, but this game was poor.

    Savage

Good game, got us a penalty and had a couple of dangerous shots on goal. A true battler, disrupting the opposition build up. Did just what he was brouth to Rovers to do; Be the midfield hard man.

    Mokoena

Ugly tacke on Robben, disappeared sometimes but had an overall good game. Together wtih Savage he provided defensive stability to the midfield. Looks a good buy, I think he will improve.

    Tommo

Put in lot of effort, but didnæt have a good game. Gave away many silly balls, poor passing. A lot of running about, but not much to show for it, should have been taken of at half-time

    MGP

Great frist half, created about 90% of our offensive plays that half. Became more anonymous in the second. He was clearly not comfortable on the right wing whan swappin with Emerton. Is the "nod the ball out of the keepers hands" even allowed? That said Makelele should have been booked for the shove.

    Dickov

A pest as usual, ticking the Chelsea defence of a lot! He shoul have put the penalty away. No matter who's in goal, PENALTY = GOAL. He holds the ball up very well, but he can't finish. Dickov as a lone striker is not an option I would like to see again. Several times he took a shot when he could have passed to a team mate, most notalby to Reid. An OK game, he needs a striking partner.
