  1. I was gobsmacked when i found this out early this afternoon, sincere condolences to his family and friends.Seemed a genuine model professional and was the type of player who set an example to younger players in how to conduct themselves. :(

  2. Hi all,my name is Bill and as you may tell from my user name i live in Bacup.I am 40yrs old married with 2 children and have been supporting Rovers since I was 4 (my dad was from Blackburn originally so it was a natural thing to do!).I have held a season ticket since the 1990/91 season (never needed one before then!) and usually try to take in 2 or 3 away games a season (more if i can afford it :D ).I sit in the BBE and have had the same seat since the stand`s construction bar 1 season when I went in the riverside for my lads first season at Rovers although I managed to get my seat back for the season after.

I am currently a CNC machinist but also work as a community support worker helping to support adults with learning disabilities on a casual basis (am looking to get into it full time). My hobbies are obviously watching Rovers and going to punk gigs.I like Punk music as well as classical music and some classic rock stuff as well.

I sometimes post but mainly read and watch other posters go into meltdown!

  3. bacup you and Tom deserve all the clogged arteries and spongy brain cells that you get and which your actions are probably ensuring that your kids will get too!

As it happens,I had the alfredo chicken with pasta and the kids weren`t with us. :tu:

I never take the kids to Mcdonalds or any other fast food `restaurant`,on the rare occasion that we do have burgers they will be homemade with lean steak.

Also I did say that I hadn`t seen the menu before we had sat down (hence we didn`t know what choice of food was on offer).

Still, nice of you to make a judgement on me and my family without being in full possession of the facts...... <_<

  4. Not quite a restaurant as such but we went to TGI Fridays at cheshire oaks today after a day at chester zoo. All four of us really enjoyed it, the boneless wings (made with franks red hot sauce of course) and the jack Daniels chicken strips were brilliant.

Went to the one at the Trafford Centre last night,i`m not surprised you can`t see a menu before you sit down,a tenner for burger and fries is scandalous! 1st and last time for me although I was impressed with the excellent service. Not worth the money though IMO.

  5. rather gathered my interest last week.

Just out of interest, does anyone else share my disappointment that so many people never get the full texture of music via a decent hi-fi system. Youtube gives you the video and some tinny music, and downloads are handy, but compressed and you play them through little earphones.

I played The Pierces Cd on the tinny little system in the kitchen a couple of times before I fired up the hi-fi in the front room. By Crivens! It was like listening to a whole new experience.

My hi-fi is not particularly briliant, although it's set up properly.

It does seem a shame that if someone takes the time & effort to record a decent sounding CD (or LP) that it only gets played via a compressed download via a pair of 50p earphones.

    Any thoughts?

(sorry Colin not for me! :P )
