  1. I'm not saying that I thougth we'd get anything when we sold him but that doesn't mean that you can't get value for money on a player. IMO only getting two and a bit seasons out of a player is not getting value for money. Ideally another season with Stead and Gally, scoring goals and improving the youngsters' games would have been a far greater return on our investment.

i agree mate. so i can think that it was more to do with the money side of things....!

i surely am thinking that souness has his eye on a good young striker. this dutch dude is totally unknown so therefore i think souey is taking gambles on signing strikers....we got to be very careful, because if this does not work out then souey will be copping the stick again.

  2. I love Blackburn Rovers and wish them all the best in the fortcoming season

but you have to think a little bit.

you certainly do have to think....you should take your own advice and think before you post such ridiculous suggestions. the black players that you have mentioned (apart from cole) are simply not good enough to stake a claim for a regular first team place. if you have been to ewood park to watch rovers you would see this for your self.

you ask, why do people have to insult you....well, that is becasue you are making a good job getting on people's nerves.

  3. soon they'll be no black players at rovers.....is Souness a racist?

Was that meant to be funny ? or a serious question

well, i dare say that souey is not a racist. if you are still unsure then why don't you confront the man and ask him that question yourself. in my book it has nothing to do with race, colour or creed....if they are not good enough or simply not getting along with the man anymore...then they gotta go and to bring the race issue into it is totally stupid and grasping at straws.

give you a tip....why not start your very own thread, that is actually relevant to football anywhere or something taht is about rovers....then you might get some decent answers.

i agree trueblue.....i was not sure waht to make of that question. i take it that neophox is new to this board and there is no better way to get insults thrown at himself than to ask a question like that.

  4. bradley

    lucas amo matteo gray

    thommo fergy tuges de pedro

    stead gally

    bench: emerton,dickov,jansen,encklemann,short

the subs bench will change from game to game, but i think the first 11 should be as above without many changes and only allowing for them if someone gets injured.

  5. agreed joey.

also, it has to come to the stage where souey has simply got to give the young lads a chance, at this level. there is no point in bringing the likes of gally through the ranks and only giving him bit part appearances from the subs bench in most games. bringing in some experianced footballers and blending that with youth can't be bad and in my opinion is a great step forward, cause we are gonna find out what they are made of.

  6. usa

just a note on the bit about andy being offside, countless times..

he almost certainly was, and people rightly where getting really frustrated but in andy's defence....he makes a run, which his midfield team mates spot, but they don't play the ball straight away and only when it is too late i.e. when coley has got into an offside possy do they decide to play the ball to him.....now if they played the passes when he makes those runs he would not get flagged offside nowhere near as many times and folks on this board would have to find somebody else to whinge about smile.gif

  7. my guess is that souey knew that andy was on his way even before signing dickov....so if he is acting as a replacement for andy cole, then it is poor, very darn poor.

dickov has no class at all and gets by on his workrate....but i am absolutely convinced that we need a striker that has class....to go with the work rate of his team mates. in this case dickov is not the answer.

  8. Alex Ferguson could not wait to see the back of Cole as he put it- 'his attitude is no longer there'.

He has done his time for Blackburn but if they cant work together then move him on if there are any takers.

I can think of numerous opportunties last season and I am sure all of you can of some bizarre misses and some completely lacklustre displays.

i don't suppose you can recall the times that he ran his socks off trying to open the defence with hsi runs or trying to drag defenders away for the midfielders to run through, but where to ###### thick to realise what he was doing...or at least trying to do??

i totally agree with anyone that says he does not score enough goals....but i am happy with this because of, and as t4e syas...the other side to his game!

  9. it totally amazes me how many fickle fans we have with the kinda of opinions and knowledge of the game that can only be expressed in a way that is commonly known as 'tunnel vision'.....what andy cole does not do in one part of his game, he makes up for in others.

for (Please don't use that word again) sake, if you are gonna slag the guy for not scoring enough or not doing this or that, what about his team mates who constantly are not on the same wave length as what coley is. when he makes runs down the channel and trys to take a defender out the way....his team mates are not always on the same wave length....and he still gets stick for it. the guy may not like playing under souness anymore but he just can't win no matter what he does. he gets criticised for making runs that the midfielders don't see, or do see but only play the ball when it is too late.

i shall be gutted when he goes.

  10. without flitty at the club or even in the side then we are niot as tough as we would like. he brings us taht toughness, somebody who is willing to but everything into a tackle to try and help us win a game...more players shoudl be like him. i certainly want him to stay with rovers, but if he moves on then it will be a shame.

  11. just finished reading "last light".....a fictional novel by andy mcnabb, which was ok, but not as good as the first of his series that i read "crisis four". have just started reading liberation day which i am hoping will be a good read....quality novelist he is.

  12. In my opinion, the only problem is sometimes people just take this place too seriously. Not every post that every member makes has to be deep and full of meaning. You dont always have to be making a well constructed point. Of course, these things are important and the vast majority of the members can and do. But having a laugh is just as important.

Some of the members seem to view the forum as a public discussion area only, and regard anything not on topic as useless and expendable. Others seem to regard the messageboard as an extension of the pub - sometimes you get into a good debate with your mates and enjoy arguing your points through. And sometimes you just have a laugh. I think that the people who think of the messageboard as such are probably the ones that get the most enjoyment out of it.

But I guess it's all down to personal preference smile.gif

tend to agree mate. as well as a discussion board we do have some good laughs on this mb. for what it is worth i do think that the quality of the board has gone downhill...in recent times, but....it is the same old adage..."if you don't like the content on this mb, then plain and simply..don't view or post". cause what is just as annoying as people who post crap, is those who whinge and complain about it because as i just said "people don't have to read it".

  13. this thread is like the catchphrase from the jaws trilogy...."just when you think it is safe"...in this case "to go backl to the messageboard without seeing this thread brought back"......whoever brought this back to page number 1 is the great white shark....

  14. jimbo

there are many reasons why people leave england...you have never met dave so to say that he is a disgrace to his country is completely un-founded and such a ridiculous and pathetic thing to say....no need for it, grow up.

  15. if i aint mistaken, the linesman was closer and had a better view of the dis-allowed goal. so when the linesman goes running back to the half way line..it is fine with him, so how can the ref not give it when he was 30+ yards away from the incident. he did not give it because he did not have the testicles to give the goal in the last minute against the home nation that would have sent them out.

    gutless prick!

  16. good move as Flitcroft is not definite starter.

Remember Ferguson having a go at Emerton last season when he wimped out of a challenge- leads by example

    so does flitty, john.

i don't mind fergy being our captain, but i don't think flitty was doing anything bad as captain anyway.....so i don't see any reason to change.
