  1. hell fire, what a shock this is! for thos that aren't old enough to remember thommo, he was a good striker for rovers back in the early 80's. he was not prolific but just a good striker/player. RIP thommo
  2. just to put everything and everybody, back into perspective....buy your tickets now for the WCC in february, cause australia's team are rising from the ashes and fingers crossed, will be making another trip to england next feb....."YOUR MIGHTY MELBOURNE STORM, ARE BACK.....LOOK OUT"!!!!
  3. hi eddie....i don't understand what exactly you are referring to within the league, when you say "contracts" for the players. i have got terribly slow internet for the last few days and have been unable to do anything further with my team, since sunday....can you explain please. :)

  4. hi eddie...i am having massive problems trying to do anything with the draft today. everytime i try go into the website to start drafting.....the page just seems frozen. just letting you know.

  5. this news is definately not the way that i wanted to start my day. like so many others on this messageboard, i had the honour of meeting "mr clayton" and what a humble and genuine person he is. not forgetting that wee matter of being so passionate about the club that we all love. R.I.P Mr Clayton
  6. ok, i need help obtaining the following movie "11 commandments"...is a french movie, similar to jackass, but i happen to think it is even funnier. maybe one of our france based fans can be of assistance and check it out for me over there. much appreciated.
  7. absolutely we should have sold him, the (Please don't use that word again)ing little runt. i dont get those who say that we should have kept him. on that day against colchester ( i think) he was team captain at the time....refused to play in a game because he wanted a move back north of the border so he could have it easy (but i think it was the missus who wanted to go)...... (Please don't use that word again)ing right.
  8. hells bells!! very few people did not like sir bobby, and that is a sign of the respect that people have for him in and away from football. proud of his roots, proud of his club, proud of his country....a proud englishman!! R.I.P. SIR BOBBY.
  9. two songs that i am really into at the moment are "we gotta get out of this place" by the angels aussie band and also another oldie in "word of mouth" from mike and the mechanics. awesome songs
  10. completely agree mate. i end up screaming at the tv, whenever benni gets flagged for offside, because most of the time, it is not by a couple of inches etc etc but more so a few yards, which from any player that is looking straight down the line, is unforgivable. and i also wish taht he would just quit with all the drag backs that he tries and flicks and genreally the fancy @#/?, because he aint inform and we would rather he work harder to get his form back than trying all that crap.
  11. just got home from watch AVP 2 on it's release day here in australia. i am somewhat dissapointed by this effort. like the aliens films, the 2 of this franchise so far has had different directors and i much more enjoyed the first one by paul w.s. anderson. i also thought that while the concept for the 2nd part was fine, the script was not upto very much at all. i would not be surprised if this effort didn't do so well at the box office.
  12. having just returned home from work, i am struggling to get my head around this responce, but i'll think of one before my day is out some times jan, your posts are that of a 12 year old!! however, i do slightly agree with you on some of the points that you make, but if you are going to be continuously critical of our players, then you simple have to also be critical of the coaching staff, because it is they whom take these players for training everyday. point 1 - he does track back, which is the job of all left midfielders, and everybody else for that matter so fair play. point 2 - he is excellent at timing runs into the box and the fact that he isn't always productive is quite harsh because he is at the very least making an effort to get in there and if he aint getting on the end of a cross, he is making a contest between him and his opponent and giving the defence an extra body to worry about. it is like saying to a striker "every time you shoot we want you to be more productive"....we all would like them to be more productive, but it aint gonna happen, so at least they are having a go....you ask any manager and they will tell you, that they would much rather their players shoot and miss, than not shoot at all. point 3 although i do agree that the miss against chelsea was crucial, i reckon you are being totally harsh, to use 1 certain game to try and get your point across, but then again that is part of your M.O. the rest of your post is just plain bitchy. the biggest thing i notice with morten is that he is a confidence player and when his confidence is up, he is brilliant to watch. one last thing...."like anybody's boss at work telling them that they are crap at what they do, then not telling them how to make it better"....in a nutshell, don't spout off if you have no idea how to fix it!! have a nice day
  13. i watched transformers the other week and i really enjoyed it. admittedly it aint everybodys cup of tea but i liked it. i am looking forward to new releases at the cinema coming out over the festive period, should be good.
  14. bazza, football has never and will never be about individuals. somebody else mentioned it the word "team", and man for man, croatia go together far beter than we do to create a groupd of players who play far better together as a group/team. i hate that we have not qualified for the euros, but if our individual players are that good, why then have we not beaten a ranked team (above us) in over 5 years...that in itself is a damning indictment on our game at the national level. also, somebody on here wanted to stop blaming the management, in a way yes i agree....but football, IMO, has always been about how a player is coached and the decisions that a manager makes, have a direct impact on how the team perfoms on a game day and also how many points they go towards getting after the game has finished. we draw level at 2-2 last week, and it was screaming out for a player to come on (probably hargreaves) and just sit infront of our defence and control the flow of the game when we have posession of the ball and to also win back the ball, when they are attacking. last week, we where out coached and as a result were outplayed.
  15. i did not get to see the game this morning, as i recorded it to watch before going to work. i switch on the tv well and truely after the game should have finished, and low and behold...i see the score in the 93rd minute jsut as the ref is blowing his final whistle!!!! not happy. anyway, i am starting to agree with a lot of people on morten now as i think his lethergy around the park is far far too often. i don't expect him to produce the goods every single game he plays, cause it don't work like that. however, the talent that the guy has is obvious for us all to see and in agreeing with modes, it either needs a sparky kick up the bum or to ship him out if that don't don't work.
  16. i agree with all but one of that statement mate. becks being past it..what is that basedf upon?? last night, until he came off he was very good....passed it about and for the most part dictated the play when we was in posession.
  17. just looking at the bbc website and it sounds like he is maiking excuses ahead of time, in that "england are haunted by injuries"....according to mclaren. come on, since he became manager, he has made decisions that have baffled us all, including the axing of becks, soon after his reign started. we might not all like becks, but he showed what we have missed in the game last night . to suggest the players are not good enough is plain ludicrous, IMO. i have always believed that our players are indeed good enough, but it is up to the manager and coaching staff, to coach them in the right way for international football.
  18. i watched wrong turn 2, last night on dvd and i was quite dissappointed by the film. i really enjoyed the first one and thought this might be good to watch. the concept of this sequel was a good one IMO, but i thought it was poorly written. apart from the very first kill in this movie, there was no shock value at all because there was simply too much blood and gore, of which the effect was completely laughable. very dissappointed!!
  19. funnily enough, since i have watched a few incredible hulk dvd's, i am no longer having the nightmares where the hulk is chasing me....but either never gets me because i wake up or somebody steps in his path. i found out yesterday that lou ferrigno is only in his mid 50's still, but a shame that it hs been now 14 years now since bill bixby passed away.
  20. as graeme explains how the club started to break up in the summer of 1995, i too as a rovers fan, have and always will be haunted by our fall from grace and even now after reading that extract from his book, it still makes me extremely sad. i am willing to bet that if all of those players got back together for a sit down, they would all like to go back in time and change things.
  21. i was discussing this very thing with my aussie mate today in melbourne and when i told him that to go and watch your team play at stamford bridge, then you are looking at prices starting from 45 quid...he did the currency exchange to aussie dollars and was shocked that it is soo expensive and that fans have to pay the same amount most weeks.
  22. as far as being a rovers fan goes, those darn clauses have been the bain of our existance...damn things. so the club are gonna offer new deals to bents and mgp, which is great when we see it, but i have to say taht i have not seen one single conrete offer for either of them this year.
  23. i am now getting seriously annoyed with a certain aspect of this game. 1 month to go before the end of the season and we are sitting 4th, but in the last 2 games i have lost 3 key players due to injuries, suffered as a result of late tackles by the opposition players. there is no means by which i can vent my anger at the offending players and their manager.
