  1. Personally I believe that if the Walkers had stumped up the cash for a better undersoil heating system then we wouldn't be in this mess.

I blame them for not rebuilding Ewood with a retractable roof and heated seats. wink.gif

  2. Is my memory playing tricks on me or did I see Best at Ewood with Fulham in the mid-seventies. I certainly remember seeing Bobby Moore with Fulham (his last proffesional game) but can't remember if Best was playing or not.

I remember this game and Best did play. It was on 14th May, 1977.

  3. Just seen the highlights on Match of the Day and they cleared up a couple of incidents that weren't overly obvious from where I was sat in Ewood tonight.

Lucas Neill deserved his 2nd red card and could maybe have had a straight red given the new tackling interpretation this season (i.e. endangering an opponent).

As for the off-the-ball incident, Andy Reid of Spurs was head butted by a Rovers player. MOTD said it was Stephen Reid, but it was definitely Andy Todd. He can now expect at least a 3 game ban to be handed out when it's analysed by the FA.

When will they ever learn? sad.gifwithstupid.gif

  4. What a fantastic day yesterday at Old Trafford. We were sat 10 yards to the right of the giant screen (as you look at it), 5 rows from the back, slap bang in the middle of the Barmy Army. What an atmosphere! And rather than being for a couple of hours like the footie, it lasted all day. We could really do to borrow Jimmy "You've Only Got One Song" Saville and the trumpeter for all games at Ewood Park.

If you get the chance, break the bank and attend one of these games while you can.

  5. I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve waiting for tomorrow. We'll be sat opposite the pavillion in the Thwaites Beers Stand - block G, row 35, seats 96 & 97. No Rovers shirt though - England attire is mandatory on these occasions! smile.gif

So, here's to watching Freddie go a long way to sending the convicts packing! biggrin.gif

  6. First game was v Colchester 1974/75, though I don't remember anything about it.

First season ticket was 1980/81 and I've had one ever since.

Last home league game missed was v Portsmouth 1975/76 (lost 3-0) and I've only missed one home game of any kind since then v Ipswich in the FA Cup in January 1996.

My claim-to-infammy in the PABBY clan is that I've never missed a Rovers home game due to any family wedding! I'm definitely mellowing a bit though and have now booked holidays for both October this year and next year, so I'll doubtless miss at least a couple of games. It will hurt knowing that Rovers are playing at Ewood and I'm not there, but I no longer feel the same devotion to the cause as I once did and the family are at last going to come first.
