  1. For all IE browser users, I suggest you give Avant Browser a try. I've been with this nifty piece of software since the early days of its development and it really is the dog's dangly bits.

    Its features are too numerous to list here, but include:-

    * flash animation & pop-up stoppers

    * tabbed windows (only one entry on your Windows task bar)

    * auto-page refresh

    * built-in Googleand Yahoo search engines

    * multi-page auto-load when you start the software

    * user-definable url shortcuts

    * full IE configuration compatibility

    Give it a try - you won't be disappointed.

  2. I've recently downloaded a few Simon & Garfunkel boots from various stages of their relationship, including one recorded just last week.

    Absolutely wonderful listening.

  3. Today's LET has this Souness quote regarding Tugay:

    "We haven't heard anything yet, but I'm confident he will be signing because he told me last week he would be signing. I'm not sure it's happened yet, but I can't say any more than that because he's in Turkey at this time."

    So it looks as though Tugay's going to be around for at least another 12 months.

    I just hope his invisible friend has found a new club! wink.gif

  4. My Wanky Wanderers supporting collegue tells me that the Lancashire Cup is being resurrected next season and that Rovers have been drawn to play Blackpool in the 1st round.

    Other than posting a link to the Wanky Wanderers website (actual text below), I can't find any other info. about it.

    Here's to drawing the Dingles in the next round! biggrin.gif

    LANCASHIRE FA officials met at Leyland yesterday to give the green light to the return of a long-established county cup competition.

    The Thurston Road boardroom decision followed talks over recent weeks between several of the county's leading sides.

    As a result, Premier League sides Blackburn Rovers and Bolton Wanderers will again do battle in the LFA Challenge Cup alongside six Nationwide League sides from this coming season.

    And league officials based at Leyland were hopeful that FA Cup winners Manchester United would rejoin the competition the following season.

    The Lancashire 'senior cup', as it is better known, was first held in 1879, but has not been contested since the late 1990s.

    Blackburn Rovers are the all-time champion of champions in the contest with 16 wins, five more than next best Bolton Wanderers, Burnley, Liverpool and Manchester United.

    The only Red Rose club to come close to that record in Lancashire FA competitions is Chorley, with 13 wins in the 'junior cup', currently known as the Marsden Trophy.

    Rovers kick off the new competition at Blackpool, while Bolton Wanderers host Preston North End, Oldham Athletic play Bury, and Burnley take on Rochdale.

    The ties will be played on a knockout basis on first team or reserve grounds, and are set to include a mix of first team, reserve and youth players.

    First round ties have to be complete by September 1, possibly as pre-season matches.

  5. Off to see The Doors (of the 21stC) on Thursday at Wembley Arena. The fact that there's only 2 original members (and of course, no Jim Morrison), means they're little better than a "tribute" band to many people, but I still can't wait to hear some of the best rock music ever written played "live".

    "There's a killer on the road, ......."

  6. Not allowing season ticket holders to purchase extra tickets for the Celtic game is simply one way of ensuring 2 things:-

    1..Fans who buy their tickets on a per-match basis should be able to get a ticket without them all being snapped up by S.T.H.s for their friends.

    2..S.T.H.s are probably the ones most likely to purchase tickets for Celtic fans, so by not selling to them it's one less way for Celtic fans to infiltrate the home areas of the ground.

    I know that not being allowed to buy extra tickets, even though I'm a season ticket holder, saves me from being hasselled by all and sundry whenever a big game arises. It saves me from having to say "No" and putting noses out of joint.

    It doesn't mean its right though, does it?   ???
