  1. I'm looking forward to the Young Heart Attack album - it's out on Monday and you can order it from Amazon for just 7.99 - bargin! Plus, the new "The Streets" single is top. It's one of those choons that gets stuck in yer head. Video is good too. Anyone like the band called "Mellow"? I heard a track by them called "Fantastic" and it was .... well, fantastic . Thinking of buying the latest album by them. Ste
  2. Fot hose of you who likes a bit of uptempo dance music have a listen to: DJ Scott Majestic from Magna on NYE Lovely stuff! Bong! Ste :-)
  3. For lovely chilled out stuff give Experimental Audio Research a listen. Not the Data Rape album (it's a bit much!), but the first album, Mesmerised and the third, Phenomena 256 are brilliant, ste
  4. I like the breakbeat stuff turned out by labels like Kniteforce . The Luna-C recent album was tops. More Hardcore rave than D'n'B methinks. Ste
  5. Yep, he sounded down beat. But so would I have been if I hadn't had X pints before the game on Saturday. We seem to be turning into the poor mans Aston Villa - footballing wise. ste
  6. So, what are people looking forward to this year? Does anyone like the Blackburn band Tompaulin? They've got a Single Comp out very soon, and will have their second album out very shortly too. Also looking forward to the new Air and Zero 7 albums - hopefully nice and mellow. One CD I'm also very much waiting for is the new Spectrum album (Sonic Boom - Spacemen 3 member). It was scheduled for a summer release last year, but was held back. Hopefully it'll be out at some point this year. It's meant to be a return to the "Highs, Lows and Heavenly Blows" sound - brilliant! Ste
  7. Just got the latest Picture Center album. For those of you who are partial to a bit of mellow, melancholy music then check it out. It's called "Our True Intent Is All For Your Delight..." . Picture Center URL Ste
  8. It's on the Band of Gypsies album. Axis Bold as Love is my favourite hendrix album, espeically the title track itself - brilliant!
  9. God, isn't that right. They are shee-ite, and pretentious shee-ite at that. How are they pretentious, exactly? My thoughts entirely. Ballet? How many RH fans will be going to watch this?
  10. Things are indeed looking grim for Leeds PLC: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1....428.stm Wouldn't like to be a Leeds fan - must be well depressed. Ste
  11. Well, it's coming to the end of the year, so what have been people's favourite albums of this year (actually released this year)? I think my top five would be: Amazing Grace - Spiritualized There's no Power without Control - Conflict Enemy of the Enemy - Asian Dub Foundation Shootenanny! - Eels Welcome to Poppy's - Fun Lovin' Criminals Most disappointing...... ? err, Cooper Temple Clause. No way near as good as the first one! Ste
  12. Bonkers Xl - not keen on the Hixxy mix but the Sharkey mix is bangin'! Ste
  13. I like the uptempo tracks on the Jet album, but the slow stuff is boring. I like the new BRMC album though, especially the first 3 tracks. Cooper Temple Clause - I was well disapointed with this. I was expecting loads of stuff like promises, promises but it all dull, static stuff - yawn. The new Mojave 3 album is top though (Spoon and Rafter), and also the new Belle & Sebastian album is a grower, I especially like the track "Step Into My Office, Baby". The Motorhead box set looks interesting. I've got quite a bit of stuff on there already. It doesn't have the best Motorhead track on there though (IMHO) - Locomotive. Class track! Ste :-)
  14. When I first saw/heard the Darkness I immediately thought of Judas Priest. I'm sure that song - "Breaking the Law" would fit perfectly in a Darkness set. :-)
  15. New Album by Spiritualized - "Amazing Grace" - brilliant!
  16. I think "Stawberries" (the one with the pig on the front) is my favourite Damned album. Ignite, Pleasure and the pain, Under the Floor etc - loads of great songs! Ste
  17. New Cooper Temple Clause single sounds good, so does Jane's Addiction new 'un. Looks like ther are going to be some top albums coming out in the second half of this year! Ste
  18. Wasn't it Bob Rock who was the producer on St Anger and Metallica? He produced a couple of Cult albums, and they are my least favourites ones (Sonic Temple (too american stadium rock) and The Cult (again no solos, and not "rocky" enough!)). I wonder why Meticalla decided not to stick any solos in it? I know it's the trend with nu-metal bands not to stick solos in, but I always thought that was because the bands were crap on the Guitar. (a joke but a bit serious ) Kirk Hammet certainly isn't crap! Ste :-)
  19. I gotta disagree about the drums. I think they fit in with the overall "raw" feel the band was aiming at. I didn't get Load or Re-Load, and was disappointed with the "black" album (Meticalla), so I think St Anger is a good return to form. Nothing on there as good as Whiplash, Battery or Damage Inc - classic metal ste
  20. Anyone got the new Metallica albume yet? Views? It's the first Meticalla I've bought since Meticalla (the black one) back in the early 1990s. I like it - I think. Some of the riffs are mean as f**k. However, the song lengths are similiar to the ones on "...and justice for all", abit too long really. It also reminds me of the old straight-edge bands like Decendance Within with the stop/start business. If the songs had been a bit shorter, and they had stuck a few solos in, it would have been much better. 3/5 I reckon. Ste :-)
  21. I must admit Motorhead's "No Sleep 'til Hammersmith" is a quality live album. I just love the versions of Overkill and Bomber - brilliant. Other fav live albums are "Live at the Royal Albert Hall" by Spiritualized, Marquee London MCMXCI by The Cult and who can forget "Floating Anarchy" by Planet Gong (top album, I spent many of evenings "listening" to that). Of course, side 4 of "Stations of the Crass" is good live one if you like a bit of Anarcho-Punk. Top Banana! Ste
  22. Mojave 3 - "Out of Tune". A lovely album for a lovely sunny weekend. new Spiritualized early stuff comp out today, plus the Warlocks' album. The best album so far this year, for me, is the Asian Dub Foundation one - brilliant! Ste
  23. Gillespie is not a wing back though. Souness should not have brought him on if he intended to play 3-5-2. He needs to play out wide and clealy Souness doesn't like the idea of traditional wingers, and so when we do play 4-4-2 KG is always coming in deep. He must be being told that's what he is to do, I'm sure his instinct is to go wide? ste :-)
  24. Bit harsh no, I don't think so. I just don't know why Souness keeps picking him. Funny enough when I saw him play on the left wing I thought he looked half decent. He's a defender, he should defend. He should and could have stopped the first goal, where was he? ste
  25. Yep, why bother bringing Super Keith on if we are going to change the shape to 3-5-2, it defeats the pupose of bringing him on! Why we continue to play Neill and Dunn is beyond me :-( ste
