  1. You would think if Football was "logical" then the following would apply: String team1 = "Spurs"; String team2 = "Boro"; String team3 = "Rovers"; if ((team1.beat(team2)) && (team2.beat(team3))) { team1.willBeat(team3); } , but we all know that one of the reasons we love football so much is the unpredictable, "anything-can-and-will-happen"-ness of the sport. It's time for Rovers to show a little bit of "consistancy" and build on last weeks win, and get another 3 points. The players have show that they can do it if they want to, so there are no execuses. I predict 3 points, we can't get beat off the Spuds at Ewood, can we? 2-0 (Dickov and Reid) Come on Rovers! Ste
  2. Sorry for bringing this old chestnut up again, but have people seen how much it's going to cost to go and watch the Palace game down at Selhurst park? It's only 5 quid less than the Chelsea game. Yes, that's right 35 quid to watch Crystal Palace, that high flying, star studded, skillful football side. Maybe Andrew Johnson is asking for a pay rise? Corr blimey!
  3. If, on Monday morning we have either 9 or 10 points I'll be very disappointed - no matter how well we've played. We've got to beat Birmingham and we need to start moving out of the bottom three. The further away from the bottom we are come Christmas the better. Looking at the fixtures of other teams around us; I can't see WBA getting anything at Highbury, the Norwich/Soton game is a biggie - maybe a draw would be best for us. If (sorry - when )we do win on Sunday we go equal points with Birmingham (12) - come on Rovers! I predict 2-0 to us (Dickov and Jansen).
  4. Well last seasons game was a a bit dour, if City had not of scored I don't think we would have either - if that makes sense! Hopefully we can contunue our unbeaten run of two games and get something out of this. I suppose a draw but be a decent result, but we really need to start winning a few games - for the points if nothing else! 1-2 to the mighty Rovers. Emerton and Ferguson to score.
  5. BUT, what about the people, who don't want to stand, sat behind the people who will not sit down? Is it just tough sh*t? They've paid alot of money to go and watch the game. I'm 6 ft 4 inches - I prefer to stand, the seats are very uncomfortable for someone of my size, BUT I'm not going to spoil it for the people behind me - I'm not that selfish and arrogant! IF they did have some sort of standing area, I would be in there like a shot, but until there is I'm going to respect the people around me, not behave like a complete ****. I know what you are saying about the people who dont want to stand and cant see but if you ask the majority of rovers fans to sit down then they will tell you no, because the person in front of them is standing and so on. You simply need to tell the steward or police. It is there problem to deal with the standing fans. You can simply ask them to sort the problem or ask them to move you if they cannot sort it. I think you responded to someone elses message, and not mine.

  7. Well, I wonder what the odds are for Rovers winning this game 1-0 from a Penalty? Might stick a few bob on this the odds are high. According to the Rovers website, it's now 50 games since we last had a penalty - corr blimey! Like someone else said, it all depends on who we play, in what position and what formation. If we play 4-4-2 we all the players on their natural position, I think we have a chance. I also hope that Lucas "I'm not a bad boy" Neill doesn't get sent off again! Ste
  8. Well, I left t'bridge feeling very depressed on Saturday. Not so long ago it was said that Rovers would raise their games for the "better" teams and play crap against the lesser sides, it seems we can't even do that anymore. Not only was the perormance on the pitch poor, but the Rovers supporters were terrible too. Not wanting to sterotype people (FFS, we need all the support we can get) but you could tell the sort of atmosphere it was going to be by the type of people going though the gates. It looked more like a party political conference than a football game (I sorry about saying that , football fans shouldn't have to look a certain way, but I'm sick of being sat amongst middle class zombies). No doubt the 40 pound price tag put alot of people off - I was very tempted not to go but couldn't resist. I agree that we can't keep playing 4-4-2. I thought our midfield was terrible. Emmerton was played on the left - WTF? Once Fliitcroft had been booked he disappeared. Reid was useless, and Ferguson - well, I was suprised because people have been saying that he's been improving, but I thought he was terrible on Saturday. He's suposed to be our captain!!! I remember our first season back in the Premiership when when had a terrible Christmas run - losing 3-0 to Sunderland at home, 1-0 to Derby, 1-0 to Spurs .We even got beat 2-1 at Leicester just after the WC final. I think Derby, Sunderland and Leicester all got relegated that season.(?) We still finished 10th that season!! There still is hope. We need to get a point on Saturday against Liverpool and carry on from here. BTW, what was all the fuss about at Chelsea on Saturday - there seemed to be quite a few people getting thrown out at the back. I think I'd be even more depressed if I had been thrown out after travelling all that way and spending 40 quiid! Ste
  9. The new "Soundtrack of our Lives" long player, Origin, is a belter. I really like the "Midnight Children" track - the french singing works especially well. I think over all it's better than "Behind the Music". Well recommended!
  10. Well, suits me - I'm an atheist.
  11. Best live band - is it april 1st? ha!
  12. Just got the "Society's Victims" boxset by Discharge. 3 CDs, with all their early stuff on (like the excellent WHY 12" and the "Hear Nothing, See Nothing, Say Nothing" album on - it's also go the w@nky metal stuff they did, but hte less said about that the better!). Top stuff! Still can't beat songs like "Aint's no feeble b@ts@rd", "Decontrol" and "State violence, state control" played REALLY loud. Love it! Off ot watch the Delgados tonight at Sheppards Bush Empire. Brilliant band and brilliant new album - "Universal Audio". A very much under-rated band (IMO - of course!). Ste
  13. Man, this has just made a crap day a lot better. I'll be there. The Poppies were fantastic ! But DefCon One is better than Bulletproof. Yep, lots of good PWEI tracks. I think I'll be listening to the "Cure of Sanity" tonight for the first time in ages. The intro to that album and the track "Dance of the Mad B@St@rds" are great!
  14. A blast from the past, and probably just a way to make a bit of extra dosh, but the mighty PWEI are reforming to play a series of gigs: PWEI gig information Used to love this band, especially "The looks or the lifestyle" album. Bulletproof is an excellent track!
  15. Every town needs a football club - no matter how big or small it is. I follow two teams - one from the town I was born in and one from the town I now live. Why would I want to support any other club, that is not based in either of these two towns? If it's just about money and about how "successful" the team is going be - then .... no thanks! It's not about that for me *primarily*, and it doesn't interest me. Meeting friends, having a laugh, unwinding from a w@nky week, watching a game of football all comes first and all done at my LOCAL team.
  16. Just reading the Live text commentary on the BBC website, and it sounds as if we are getting hammered!
  17. What's the problem - it's only 267% more expensive than Charlton on Monday night. And if you read the small print from the Rovers ticket office travelling fans are guaranteed 267% more effort and commitment from the players. Well, if a better Rovers performance is guaranteed ...... The thing is, that doesn't sound too crazy if you look at the last 3 meeting at t'Bridge. 0-0, 2-1, 2-2. I wonder if we'll be borrowing the Spuds bus?
  18. Well, we still haven't lost at home this season in the PL, so I think we'll continue this outstanding run 2-1 (Neill and Flitty)
  19. According to the Rovers site: 4th October (season tickets holders) 11th October (every one else) 40 fliipin' quid......... for ONE football game.
  20. 'nuff said! Can't remember how much they wer last year (I'm sure not this much). Rip off!
  21. Rommedahl will run rings around Neill. 3 seems to be the magic number, we've played 3 away games and in each one we've conceeded 3 goals. I'd love to say that Hughes' influence will change our away troubles, but I don't think so: 3-1 to Charlton (Dickov for us)
  22. Maybe this is just one big collective dream - we're all really sat at ewood at the WBA games. It's so boring that every one has fallen asleep. Souness is still our manager, this is not real. Wake up, wake up NOW!
  23. Well, for some reason I thought it would be a bit more guitar based. I loved the first singles I heard - Club Foot and LSF, and so was very much looking forward to the album. I've only had a chance to listen to it once so far - and it's ... OK. Reason is Treason is an excellent track, but other tracks just didn't grab my attention - abit "same-y". However, it may be a grower. I hated Cancer Planet Misson by Gaye Bykers on Acid when it first came out and it's one of my fav albums now.
  24. Well, we haven't been beaten at home ALL season yet. (you gotta look at the positives )So I predict that we maintain this amazing record and win 2-1. Short and Stead.
