  1. I'll agree that Stead was awful until his superbly-taken goal. After that he looked more of a danger than he has since the first half dozen games of the season. Give him a run in the team now and see if he can sustain it.

Great result, great defensive performance (although I'll never stop clinching my arse when I see Nissa attempting to judge a dropping ball). Let's push on now.

  2. I don't think sub appearances would have done him any harm. In fact, in that streak of draws during Christmas, we could have done with him coming on and trying to turn draws into wins - but he stayed on the bench.

But that streak of draws was the catalyst for turning our season round. That streak of draws would have been losses had Hughes not instilled a bit of steel and defensive discipline in the team.

Perhaps he felt during those games that MGP wasn't strong enough and preferred not to risk losing a point. Mark Hughes has been totally spot on with his treatement of MGP, which is proved by his recent good form.

    Accept it and move on!

You're post is pretty much spot on, but it's the last line in particular that stands out.

The people who thought Pedersen shouldn't have been in the team earlier in the season are now happy he has taken his opportunity, the people who wanted him in the team in the first place should be happy he has gotten there eventually - what is the use continuing to cry over something that's in the past? The player is doing well for Blackburn Rovers in the here and now, that should be enough. rover6 getting all bent out of shape because he was denied a few sub appearances is just typical crusading on his part, mainly beacuse there was little else to moan about at the time.

  3. I'm listening to Imaginary Force by Bob Katsionis, the Firewind keyboard player (oh, that Bob Katsionis), an instrumental 7-string guitar/keyboard album just now. Pretentious ######-fest? Maybe, but a really good one.

  4. This Warehouse sounds a bit like Glasgow's Cathouse - bottom floor; classic rock, heavy metal and pop crap, top floor; modern (read: crap) metal, gothic (meaning anything from Nine Inch Nails to the bloody Prodigy) and alt rock. Still the best place to go.

  5. I saw Carpathian Forest on Friday night and they were rather good, even for a part-time Black Metaller like me.

Highlight of the night though was seeing the frontwoman of support band Wykked Wytch - who were awful - almost coming to blows with some chav bint in the crowd who was apparently there to see the other (local) support act and then shout their name at all the other bands on the bill. Well done to the little troll.

  6. Pissing video packed in on me....didn't get to see the game. mad.gif That's the last time I ever decide to tape a football game instead of watching it.

From the comments of the members that saw the game a draw sounds fair enough, but a replay could be a big inconvenience for us. Still, it means another derby. Is the replay being shown on telly as well?

  7. Quoting BRFC4EVAOMFGLOL11!!!

Oh well Rad, at least someone argrees with me. If the guy said the rivalry is based 90% on non relgious grounds then why are basically no catholics supporting Rangers? Songs such as 'ftp' and Red Hand Salute wouldnt exactly endire yourself to supporting rangers if a catholic?

Shut up, you stupid little boy.

  8. Christ its not even about pride its simply about religion, I know this as I have actually been to numerous old firm games having lived at Ibrox in the mid 80's.

Your ###### it is. It deeply offends me to read @#/? like this when I come from a mixed religion Scottish family. I can promise you religion will be the last thing on the mind of any Old Firm supporter in my family or that I would consider a friend on Sunday.

EDIT: Yes I am expecting the 'witty' retorts of "Oh, you're right, they're everything in Glasgow is peachy."

Just out of curiosity, how many Protestant members of your family are Celtic supporters and how many Catholic members are Rangers supporters?

None that I know of, but that wasn't my point in the first place. Of course religion would have had an affect on which side of the family supported which team in years gone by, but of my living relatives none support either Old Firm team for any reason other than being brought up by parents that supported the team as well.

I'm not saying that religion plays no part in the Old Firm support (that would be idiotic), but 1864's assertion that it was purely about religion rubbed me the wrong way - as I said originally, there are many fans on both sides of the divide that don't give a toss about religion. Unfortunately, the offensive voices speak the loudest.

By the way, I hate discussing the Old Firm on this message board. rolleyes.gif

  10. EDIT>

PS "Magic The Gathering"  blink.gif huh?

In reference to the kind of music which portrays mythical elements like forlorn vales etc; listened to by blokes with long hair, in comic book shops, who wear heavy metal t-shirts who play...Magic the Gathering. I know that's slightly complex, but there you go. wink.gif

Ok I've never heard of Magic the Gathering. Probably because I don't spend my time in comic shops. But I do have long hair and wear Heavy Metal t-shirts, so two cliches of three is not bad I guess. rolleyes.gif

On a related note - just back from Nightwish. What a tremendous gig. Keep your Jay-Z/Linkin Park, thanks all the same.

  11. Certainly.

If your selling less, your going to try harder to sell and make better material

If you sell purely on your 'image' its not that hard to put something out that is pants and sell

    get me?

Radaghast.... we agree on something..... strange  blink.gif

Not necessarily. You might just sell less because you're sh*te. Of course that doesn't apply to anyone in the Magic The Gathering metal genre.

I wasn't suggesting that for a minute. But of course I think the Metal bands that I listen to are good - why on earth would I listen to bands I thought were @#/??

    EDIT>

PS "Magic The Gathering" blink.gif huh?

  12. Just saying I'm glad it's not my money lining their already bulging pockets.

No, instead your money is lining the pockets of the aforementioned bands. I'd say they probably need it... wink.gif

You're right, apart from Nightwish, most of them do need it. Its less of a pain in the arse contributing to acts with a real work ethic.

  13. Ok, today it has been

Falconer - Chapters From A Vale Forlorn (oooooh!)

    Nightwish - Wishmaster

    Sonata Arctica - Reckoning Night

    and

Riot - ThunderSteel - now this is an unnoticed classic. Any fans of Painkiller-era Judas Priest have to listen to this.

I worry about you, I really do

Did I once bump into you in Cest La Vie ohmy.gif

So I can take it you've listened to all these CDs before coming to this conclusion?
