Woodgate it is then. Middlesbrough connection (again) - sacked - and a brief stint with Bournemouth.

    Cheap and available. Perfect

We might as well have given it to Carrick or Rooney. At least there was a connection with any talented United youth players.

Once again, we look like messing this up completely. What a joke of bunch of Wankers are Venkys

If I remember correctly Lambert was appointed either just before or during an International break and it was within days of Bowyer going. Similarly Mowbray took over a very short while after Coyle was sacked. Mowbray went public and effectively handed his notice in on May 30th, almost a month ago. And we are still in the process of interviewing with seemingly a few weeks to an appointment. As has been said many times this time of year is crucial to the upcoming season with preparations and planning to be done on many fronts and we are already on the back foot.

    You sound surprised

I apply nearly every time Rovers are looking for a manager.

In pre Venky days I always got a reply in the post on official Rovers headed paper and signed by Tom Finn, thanking me for my interest but informing me that I didn't have the necessary experience to be considered. I've got 3 or 4 of these letters.

I've applied 3 times since Venky's took over and not received the courtesy of a reply.

Obviously its only a bit of fun but I think it reflects the reality of the club pre and post Venky's. Where there was once a club that cared about its supporters there is now a gaping void.

    Venky's out

I would cherish the hell out of those replies, to show my kids, grandkids one day. 🤣 Look, I once I applied to Blackburn manager.

Was he any good at Cape Town ?

He was... Then moved to another team, then got sacked. But he actually did well for that team, considering its not one of the big teams in SA.

I was obviously joking, but just as an FYI, he has his UEFA pro licence. Europe might be too early for him right now, but don't think we would be the right team for us to take a risk on him. But he won't hold any punches

On here they thought someone was going to step up. Khadra, Dolan, Rothwell were all names mentioned, all midfielders who don't score much (I got particular stick for saying that). It was a glimpse into the mindset of some fans. I thought it was just Mowbray that was bonkers.

Go over on twitter, and read the drivel. Go onto Facebook, and it's worse. I can guarantee one thing, if we get a few good results in the 3 or 4 games, it's Mowbray back in again. The man has run his time here as manager, and this team next season, whatever is left of it, needs a reset and refresh.

That one is tough to take. We grew into the game after weathering a 20 minute spell of pressure and had them looking rattled at times. I didn't think Sheff United were anything special and as the second half wore on I thought the win was there for the taking.

We get a golden chance to win the game, against 10 men, yet lose to a late sucker punch. It's not happening, is it? We aren't going up.

If this goes the way many are fearing and we end up 8th or 9th from here it would be the spiral of all spirals for me and it will sting like mad. There would be no coming back from that for us under Mowbray, he would have to go.

Nobody expected us to be 2nd or 3rd, but once you find yourself in that position come January, you don't just freeze and admire it. Who knows when or if the opportunity will ever come again. "2nd? Flippin' heck, let's see what happens". That's exactly what the chumps at Ewood and in Pune have done and it has backfired already.

Venky's wanted back to back promotions in the summer of 2018, did they? Did they balls.

It's not about just rattling the opposition, and then realise oh wait, we don't have anybody to put away those chances. How do we expect to stay in contention, when we have 1 striker in Gallagher who can't score goals. The other striker is injured, and that's it. We are moving to where we thought we would be, and that's mid table.

Failure to make the playoffs from the position we were at, will be down to Mowbray and those in charge. We had the perfect chance to invest in some strikers to guarantee us a playoff place, instead we went and bought a Scottish player who can't even make the team the starting lineup

  7. Can't remember who the poster was, that told me no chance we don't make the playoffs. I said, that Mowbray not signing a striker or 2 over other areas on the pitch, would come back to bite us big time.

People got relaxed when Gallagher scored a goal, and thought he was more than enough to backup Brereton. Mowbray and his scouts messed up, and you can defend Mowbray all you like, but he failed in the January window. If we don't make the playoffs, there is no way that anybody can defend Mowbray, or believe that he should continue as manager.

Said a few weeks ago that’s it’s boro and forest that I fear

Even if it's Boro and Forest you fear, right now Huddersfield, QPR and us are falling over each other. So 2 of QPR, Huddersfield, and us could be overtaken.

Bournemouth are hit and miss, but if they pick up form, then it looks like it's them and Fulham for auto places..

We just have to pick up points, doesn't matter now if they are wins or draws, but we just need to be in with a chance at the end.

  9. Not bringing in another striker (and no Markanday is not a striker) in January, is what could make or break us re the playoffs.

All our focus should have been on finding one or 2 strikers, instead we once again filled areas that I don't necessarily believe needed filling. Maybe a backup for Nyambe was okay, but there is no goals in this team.

If we do get into the playoffs, I would hope that Dack is back before that, and firing, because teams have figured us out. So I'm going to say we will finish either 6th, or we will drop out and be between 7th and 10th
