  1. Al, am I missing something ?

Stead's scoring boots have disappeared, Dickov scored after the Geordie defence left a gap the width of the M6, and Bothroyd ? don't get me started on him.

Hughes announces his intention to go for the highest scoring player in the Scottish Premier league, and in your opinion he isn't good enough for Blackburn Bloody Rovers ?

I think we all need a reality check. The 'gelling' of our little club continues steadily under Hughes.

Hartson and Savage please hurry up.

  2. had time too think about the game, how are everton 2nd

Throughout the season they have had more success than all of the clubs beneath them in the table, simple really.

Friends and neighbours have all agreed that we should have taken all three points - which was nice.

The notoriously biased Radio City commentary team wanted the final whistle to be blown at the beginning of half time - which was encouraging.

  3. Collectively this is the most inept squad/team I can remember in the 40 odd years of following Rovers. Not a creative idea between them. If we stay up it will only be because the likes of WBA are even worse. While I am at it NJ is the worst professional footballer I have ever had the displeasure of watching - crap he wouldn't get in my Sunday League Pub team. I have nothing positive to say but I feel sorry for Huges and the pile of dog poo that he has inherited. But thanks for the Early Xmas pantomime leading up to the Spurs goal. A girls team could have done better.

You're talking bullocks. Spurs were lucky to win given that after a very nervous first half Rovers dominated after the break, and nearly tucked one away.

Thommo had a bad game, but by far the worst player in blue and white was NEJ. Our telly's splattered with chicken and gravy from yours truly screaming at that tousled haired tosser.

Unbelievable second half that we couldn't convert with 75% of posession, that's footy for you I suppose.

Still turning the corner under Hughes, and congrats to Brad, Gally, the irrepressible Dickov, the transformed Todd, and Reid, Fergie, Neill, Short Emerton.

Bothroyd, jury's stillout, Tugay - no chilli on mine mate, and bloody Johanssen. Back to Scandinavia and stick to what you're good at, making cuckoo clocks and lego.

  4. The situation's amplified when your loved ones are fast asleep in the house with you.

Luckily (despite the cliches) I've never been in that predicament, but if it should happen I would act to protect me and mine and worry about the consequences afterwards.

If someone's in your house, they leave their human rights outside.

    End of.

PS - Bryan, how many coppers etc ? None mate, trust me.

  5. What galls me about any situation like this, is the insistence by many that you are 'over reacting', we shouldn't let our 'emotions rule our heads'.

    Why not ?

A state plunged into 'nannydom', fuelled by the welfare state, the judiciary, social services and the PC brigade.

What happened to the days when the authorities spoke softly but carried a big stick ? Sod the lot of them. Anyone found climbing through a window in my house in the early hours is going straight to hospital.

  6. It has just been on Talksport news that a survey by the Guardian found the majority of muslims wanted Suraya law for civil cases in England, so what next ?

What the bloody hell's that ?

Stoned to death for not paying your council tax ? blink.gif

  7. Well steady on now, I feel nothing but contempt for a man (or woman) who takes pleasure in stealing a child's innocence, in subjecting them to horrific abuse. Of course they must be punished.

What I do object to is this old testament style hysteria and inability to think rationally. The victims' feelings are obviously the primary issue in such cases, but as a society we haven't evolved away from the law of the jungle only to do an about face simply because we buy The Sun's rhetoric.

It's only a guess, but you don't have kids of your own, do you ?

  8. AS, that point doesn't hold water. Delete "child sex offender" and insert "pickpocket."

    Colin

You can hardly equate the gravity of a sexual offence toward a minor with that of a common thief, if you can you're smoking too much of that 'herbal' remedy you keep behind the biscuit tin.

Should the punishment fit the crime ? yes of course.

Armed robbers, rapists, murderers. Is it really draconian to suggest that following a DNA proven conviction they are removed from society by a small injection ?

Before you start unbuttoning your cardigan and get the vapours, ask yourself that question. What would society gain from keeping people like that around ?

  9. If they are locked away or even better dead, they cannot commit sexual indecency towards a child.

    FACT

    AS wins.

As to whether it is an illness or not, irrelevant.

"Sorry your honour, my client didn't mean to machine gun Burger King, there's a chemical imbalance in his swede!"

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

The prevention of crime is infinitely preferable to the detection of crime. If there is no proven or practical way to identify a child sex offender before an attack, the least we can do for the victim (remember the victim ? ) is to make absolutely sure he/she can't do it again.

Either chuck the key away or put a lightning bolt through the head. Whose loss would that be ?

  10. S**t

I forgot that you the more wealthy you are the more abuse you can take.

    And also money means happiness.

No dummy, his lifestyle and social standing would help cushion the blow. When you enter the outside world (is that leaving Uni or Leeds ? ) you'll take a wider, calmer view of issues that were previously life or death.

    and also money means happiness

er ... english please. More money ? Less money ?

If I had Yorke's income and lack of responsibilities I'd feel pretty smug, faced with some tosspot from Chorley.

  11. So what you (Capt K), and others, are saying is that Yorke should just put up with being racially abused?

No, not at all. Wouldn't you have thought that he would have reflected on his millionaire lifestyle, and when approached by Perryman would have thought to himself "I earn forty thousand pounds a week - look at this spotty @#/?".

It'll be interesting to see how emotionally scarred he is by the whole incident, the next time he leaves a club in the early hours with blond totty on each arm.

FFS, the coverage this has had, you'd think they found Bin Laden in the Blackburn End.
