What a coincidence. The club that buy our prized asset just happen to have a chap we are interested in signing permanently...  has Mowbray been asleep all summer..

If Palace had signed AA would we still be after Obafemi 🙄 lazy CEO , lazy manager, lazy club.

We are getting Obafemi as part of the deal. It has to be seperate for reasons stated above, im not repeating everything. Southampton have basically made an offer of 20 - 21 million for Armstrong. Thats what we wanted. To get 15 million plus a player who is young and has room to grow  i feel is a very good deal for someone who has 12 months left on their contract.

I don't give a sh1t what you two lads think but at least give a balanced view and get your facts right

Clearly, you forget where I've been right on numerous occasions.

And for the record, Mullan did not break the news that Rovers had agreed a deal for Rhodes.  Check the postings if you've nothing better to do.  I posted that hours before anything in LT, on Radio Lancs or on here.  It came straight from the Huddersfield camp.

Who also posted about Seneca's attempt a few years ago to buy into Rovers some 24 / 48 hours before anything appeared anywhere!?

What pearls of wisdom have you two ever come up with?

    Mercer the oracle, rejoice 🎉

Rumours that this deal is unofficially 12m + 3m add ons AND Obafemi. Officially it is a straight cash deal.

Sound like Southampton may ‘separately’ give us Obafemi at a cut price fee so that we avoid it being added to the fee due to Newcastle.

To be fair Nicko is pretty shit at transfer info but hes sticking his neck out on the line with this. As above recons we will get obafemi in a seperate cut price deal to stop Newcastle getting any profit.

Did say if the player wants to come though.

    Read it again !!!

"Adam Armstrong of up to £15m with add-ons"

It's in the wording ie UP TO £15million when adds on are taken into account.

If it was £15m plus add ons, it would say so!!!

I'll back my colleague in NE over any Talkshyte presenter.

Alrite Mercer, chill out. You been knocking back the red already?

We may have some good quality youngsters of our own as well but we'll never find out if they're behind those of City/Liverpool/Everton.

If said PL youngsters are getting us promoted, different story.

I agree but to get them in the squad to add more depth on a rotational basis makes sense. Not everyone will stay injury free. 25+ games in a competitve leauge is a win win for both parties.

Sounds like there is minimal chance of any replacements for Armstrong or new deals for all of the others whose contract is running down. That is nothing to do with saving money because allowing assets to run their contracts down is not financially wise. Those bastards in India just dont give a shit.

Makea no sense. Why would you let their contracts run down and let them go for free? Given we will get compensation for Nayambe when he leaves but rothwell and all the others we will get nothing...make it make sense?

Famara Diedhou is being strongly linked with Boro and Swansea on a free transfer. 1 in 3 goal record and a powerful targetman who always seems to cause us problems and can link play too. Too sensible for Mowbray though who would have him out wide in his deluded idealistic tika taka philosophy.

Hes on around £20,000 per week. We cant afford that.

Ben Sheaf rumours seems to lack credibility. Spoken with a Coventry fan who says it’s a loan to buy deal they have and there’s an obligation apparently.

There was only an obligation to buy when certain criteria was met. I far as I'm aware this wasnt met. This was appearances etc. The agreed price was £750,000

    Where is this from?

I dont remember seeing him play, looking online, Coventry fans dont seem to particularly want him back, suggesting that he gives the ball away at times dithering in front of the defence, and that he seems not to have really matured from the sanitised under 23 environment. Here is a thread on him:

    https://www.skybluestalk.co.uk/threads/ben-sheaf-future.131648/

His future seems to be a bit of a mystery, Coventry had an obligation to buy clause in his contract, so the fact that they presumably want to get out of that doesnt bode well, and surely means that he is still under contract at Arsenal if a fee was set to change hands. Plus he has suffered a bad injury. Strange one.

Apologies, when I say free, I mean his contract ends as of May 2021. We will still need to pay compensation to Arsenal via a tribunal if we did sign him... Unless we sort out a fee with Arsenal prior (wont be alot.)

  10. Rovers are after Ben Sheaf. Dont know alot about him. Currently on loan from Arsenal at Coventry. Young, CM, keeps the ball ticking over.  Played 29 times this season in the champ before getting injured, now fit but Coventry wont play him as agreement in place that they will pay a fee to take him perm when he hits a certain amount of apperances. Contract expries May 2021. Potential free transfer, young, cheapish wages, championship experience.

    Room for growth.
