Another defeat against mediocre opposition - a very worrying trend developing here.
Another worrying trend is laying blame on poor refereeing decisions (I feel a lady luck coming on). I hope that behind the scenes Mark Hughes and his staff are accepting that there are severe weaknesses in the team and concentrating their efforts on putting them right.
I think they should start with the fact that we can't defend, we can't score goals, and our midfield is none too clever either. Thank heavens for Brad Friedel.
Oh happy days!!

Okkas also being linked to Newcastle.
It is obviously getting near the transfer window and the agents are touting players as usual.

Anyone who knows me will say I am a laid back guy, but after hearing the BBC team on MOTD2 last night I was going booloo. Why does everyone hate Rovers? They really p1ss me off.
And me too.
They were so in favour of Tottenham, and anti-Rovers, it was embarrasing. Gavin Peacock is surely a Spuds fan.

Anyone out of the three possible midfielders I would love to see join Rovers are
Kris Commons
Over to you Rover6!!

I woould love it to happen, and don't think it is as unrealistic as some of you think. It is unlikely that the top clubs are going to go after him, so why not us.
Mark Hughes could be a huge factor in this happening.

Interesting preview, but I think that the constant use of the term Scum when referring to United is not doing this board any favours. Just my opinion.
Totally agree.
Spoiled what is probably a good preview.

very good points.
SKY were pioneers of football broadcasting and revolutionary. the camera work and commentary are still the best around (alan parry and marwood aside).
the main problem is with the pre match build up /guests and discussion. it is being dumbed- down. you see the same guests and interviewees week in and wk out.
i think the fact that they are getting more and more subscribers, has led to complacency and an inferior product.
I can't remember the last time I actually bothered to watch the pre and post match bull offered by Sky. Same old crap week in and week out. And as for Jamie Redknapp, he is as boring as Shearer, Townsend and the rest of the BBC and ITV numpties. What does they offer us over and above what we already know - nothing. Sky could save themselves and us a fortune if they just cut it out completely.

I heard from a very reliable chap that Rovers put in four bids for Dunn at the start of this season. All were turned down by Steve Bruce. Bruce told Dunn, who is very keen on a Rovers return, to give him 6 months. With his contract up next summer it is believed that it is now only a matter of time before Dunn is back at Rovers.

It's almost as stupid as my getting chucked out at Oldham for throwing a snowball
Boxing Day 1981?

If looking for something in the crime/thriller genre, I would recommend anything by Mo Hayder. The Treatment in particular is shocking but gripping stuff.

They weren't the "good old days" at all.
They might not have been in terms of quality, but I enjoyed them much more than I enjoy the current era of a game that is way over-hyped, over-exposed and full of greed.
I accept that things move on with time, but they don't always necessarily move in the right direction.

Enjoyed the first, enjoyed the second and look forward to the third.
Granted it's no classic masterpiece, just good fun (which is what it is meant to be).

David Dunn has the ' the big i am ' attitude when he's out.
Like many other footballers I would imagine, but WTF has that got to do with his ability to play football.
I would welcome him back.

I haven't seen any of the match because i were in my PE exam all afternoon but did 6-0 flatter Argentina or were the Serbs really as bad as the scoreline suggests?
They were a class act with top quality players throughout the team. They even have the luxury of having players like Messi and Tevez on the bench.
The best team in the tournament on the evidence to date.

I know it has been said by many before but there is no way we will win this World Cup with Lampard and Gerrard as our central midfield pairing. They are ineffective against lesser opposition so I don't hold out much hope for when we play the better teams.
Neither of them seems to know whether they should be playing the holding role or if they should be supporting in attack. The sad thing is that SGE doesn't know either. He just picks them both because they are supposedly the best players (and they play for one of the top four).
We have one of the truly world class midfield players in Gerrard but are currently wasting his talents. Bring Carrick in to do the spade work, as he uses the ball brilliantly and will add some fluency and quality to our approach play, leave Lampard on the bench and let Gerrard play where he can hurt opposing teams (deep in their half). Unfortunatley SGE won't do it because he hasn't got the bullocks.
Add to this a half fit Owen and Rooney, a less than quality Crouch (Abbey is right, he wouldn't be anywhere the England team if he didn't play for Liverpool) a very raw back-up in Walcott, and things are currently not looking too promising.
I really want to be eating my words on 9th July.

I don't imagine season tickets will be selling when it appears most of the best players from last season will be leaving - all for less than their proper market value because the club did not show sufficient ambition to get them resigned earlier. Alao a deafening silence on incoming transfers.
But they weren't worth as much earlier. Would you have offered Reid a new contract 12 months ago?
Easy option to blame the club, if you want to blame someone then why not blame the players because they are (allegedly) the ones who are adamant about leaving.

I think most people will have Warnock very high on their list next season.
-
Dickov is not crap. He might not be Thierry Henry, but he possesses other qualities that have been invaluable to us over the last couple of years.
Anybody who goes out on the pitch and gives everything game after game and plays a major part in us avoiding relegation deserves better than to be called crap.

Firstly (and I don't really want to criticise anyone after a great season for Rovers) MGP needs more a rocket up his jacksy rather than a rest!!
Secondly, I am glad you mentioned him Rev because I thought his performance, although only a few minutes long, showed that the lad has quality and so much self belief. I will be very surprised if he doesn't feature more next season.

Brum are not now in a position to dictate. Top earners at relegated clubs very rarely stay, especially ones who have had alot of injury problems. They may just have to cut their losses now.
Judging by their injury problems, Bruce's training regime is on a par with Souey's. I would back Hughes and his staff to get Dunny on the pitch more often and therefore would love to see him back at Ewood.

Regardless of whether Charlton turned up or not we went out and got three points, which is all that mattered.
Moaning about our players diving, getting booked, and fining them? Some of you will never be happy - come on you blues!!!

My apathy towards the game in general grows each season. I am not sure whether that will have an effect on my apathy towards Rovers in the long-term, although I am sometimes concerned about the feeling of an air of inevitablility about where we are going.
The rich getting richer is spoiling the competition in the top level of English football these days, the same few teams are winning everything. This plus the greed, over-hype, absurd wages and general poor conduct of players, managers and media is gradually turning me off football.
I imagine I will still be watching Rovers regardless of where we end up though.
