1. I don't really understand how anybody can suggest that Zurab isn't up to it!  He's proved time and time again that he's a more than capable premiership defender and has been very unfortunate to have been dropped on numerous occasions.

But you have to remember that alot of Rovers fans seem to have short memories.

  2. Get a bloody life. He made a mistake, and, if you hadn't noticed, Brazil were (and still are) the best team in the world by a mile.

I am sure Keegan would of told the England side to charge down into the Brazilian half but then I am quite sure we would of lost under Keegan as well and by more goals.

The point is he isn't perfect BUT there is absolutely no else who is available who could offer more. There are precious few who arn't available who could offer more for christsakes.

    1. He didn't learn from his mistake because he was just as negative in Euro 2004

    2. It hasn't escaped my notice that Brazil are a good team, but we should be giving them more of a game when they only have 10-men.

    3. I never mentioned Keegan

    4. I would rather anyone be in charge than Sven. That is an opinion I have held for a very long time, not just because of recent revelations in the gutter press.

    5. I have a very nice life, but thanks for the advice anyway.

  3. There have been ups and downs, but the overall record is unquestionably positive, especially in tournament situations.

    377352

Failing to take the game to 10-man Brazil, and camping in our own half after going a goal up against a Portugal team that were there for the taking - nothing positive about that.

  4. I actual feel sorry for Sven and disgusted with the small minded myopic little englander mindset of the press and some people on this board

THERE IS NO ONE AVAILABLE AT THE MOMENT TO REPLACE HIM

    377324

Feel sorry for him? He is laughing all the way to the bank mate.

You are disgusted with the 'small minded myopics' but you actually feel sorry for this man? Me thinks you might just be suffering from a bit of short-sightedness yourself.

  5. The existing XI moved the ball around really well stretching the Bolton midfield and back line.

Spot on phil. I actually commented during the second half on how I thought we were doing the right thing by keeping possession well and trying to stretch them. Unfortunately it is not easy to breakdown a team that is basically playing none up front.

As for Bolton they are probably the ugliest (football wise) Premier League team I have seen.

  6. Thought Toddy was the best player on the pitch last night, can't see how the goal was anyone's fault, it was a great run from Saha to get him into that space.

    374079

Correct, but unfortunately some Rovers fans have to find something to moan about when all is going well.

Rovers have been good defensively for 12 months now and Andy Todd has played a huge part in the improvement. In fact he has been excellent for Rovers - end of story. We have 3 good centre backs - be thankful.

The start of this topic is is one of the most unwarranted pieces of criticism I have read in a long time.

  7. I think the question is why so many injuries?

    Poor training and preparation perhaps?

Just for the record Souness left us in the mire, but I will never forget his contribution in winning us promotion and the Worthy Cup, and getting UEFA Cup qualification. These are achievements he should always be fondly remembered for, and also reasons why he shouldn't get the stick he gets when he comes back to Ewood.

  8. Won't bother quoting all your post Hughesy but well said.

Anyone else on here who went to the game at Cambridge a few year's ago that was called off at half time due to a frozen pitch? Now that was effin cold and frustrating, but it is just all part of being a football fan.

Worst thing about that was that we went all the way back when it was replayed and lost!

  9. Also, I didn't go to the game so maybe Reid was a numpty all game! Was he?

    362214

No he wasn't. He played his part like everyone else did in a solid Rovers performance. True we didn't create anything but neither did City.

A good point for us against a team who have been pretty good in previous home games this season. We seem to be getting a bit of unfair criticism for spoiling the game - complete rubbish. We did a professional job.

  10. Rovers at the moment boil down to one thing only. You look at the team sheet at five to three and if Bellamy isn't on it you know we're going to pose next to no attacking threat to the opposition. Neither are we good to watch in terms of persuading the crowds back to Ewood. However I think if we can possibly keep him fit for a decent period we'd be a different proposition entirely.

    355744

We were never going to turn into Brazil overnight after the shambles that we were just over a year ago.

The last bit of that comment is the most relevant. I am sure Mark Hughes' plan is to keep players like Bellamy and add more quality as we progress.

I think it is important that Rovers fans realise that we have a very good management team and that in time we will see better football.

    Keep the faith!!
