I thought we played very well against an extremely strong team whose subs that came on would probably all get into our first team.
I was worried about Hedges going off for his denfensive cover but I thought Markanday was excellent and randomly loved a crunching tackle!
Brittain had a great game, he has a very unenviable role of having to hold onto the ball for long periods of time without having a forward out ball.
Sammie didn't seem fit at all, I thought he would have been off when he went down early.
My daughter loved the day, although she thought the tannoy announcements in the Riverside were too loud. We've gained a new fan!

It's my daughters first game tomorrow, taking my Dad along too. He has been a season ticket holder for 40+ years of his 67 year life but broken by Venkys ... jumped at the chance as he "had a granddaughter excuse" to go to the game. The fans are still there and desperate for Venkys to go!

My expectations have diminished so far this season, I'm just hoping that our keeper doesn't drop any clangers and somebody other than Sammie can score. We may have half a chance if that plays out.
-
To concede the softest goal of the weekend at one end and look at the other end with no recognised striker, simply fuck off Venkys.

I feel like there is a gap in my memory, it had been mentioned Broughton was due to give an interview during this international break. I think this was stated by the reporter for the LT? What I can see is that this is an interview with essentially a podcast, filmed off his laptop. Previously they had been done by the club or somebody like Andy Bayes? Are we due an official interview or has this like the fans forum been volleyed down the road?
-
Would it be reasonable to say yesterday's "statement" came in lieu of a very uncomfortable fans forum that was due to take place? I'm sure there was one due this week.

A professional football club, dealing in a multi million pound industry categorically cannot deliver a Club Statement with the word "SHOULD" in it. It is not a statement of fact.

Our game vs Leeds has been selected for Sky ... shock! It must actually piss their match attending fans off as they could never book cheaper in advance trains or hotels.

I'm sure it has been mentioned on here but I saw a stat on twitter that really does show why the home supporters are getting really pissed off. Since 15/3/23 at Ewood
Played 24
Won 6
Drawn 8
Lost 10
75% of teams coming to Ewood have left with something. I knew it had been bad but I was genuinely shocked it was so bad.

Absolute bobbins, I'm firmly in a relegation preparedness state. We have today been carved open and generally speaking been pasted by Plymouth in thankfully all but score line. We had the same troubles throughout the game and the manager didn't seem to see them and or act on them, it was an extremely worrying watch.
Somebody at the club please be kind and lead Mr Eustace by the arm and tell him to call a spade a spade, we've had decades of bullshit and don't take too kindly to it. This post and pre match football cliché lottery is starting to grate massively.

Rotherham have terminated Daniel Ayala's contract. He has played seven games and was sent off twice.
When he played for us I did quite rate him but he was just never available enough. I have to say I'd have never have offered him a contract after training with us then trying to slope over to the Middle East for a bigger pay day.

I am probably the only one seeing any positives from last night. Millwall had come to put 11 players behind the ball - they rarely threatened apart from set pieces - a perfect match for Rovers to lose to a sucker punch. But we didn't, and despite injuries, numerous fixtures and extra time, illness in the camp we were able to come back for a well deserved draw. Perfect, obviously not, in trouble - definitely, the odd sign we may get out of this mess - I think so.
Whilst you make a very valid point, this game was a very viable 3 points. The majority of our remaining games not so much, that's were my major frustration comes from.
-
I'd be absolutely fuming if I was a Millwall fan after their lack of adventure. I honestly don't think there is a team they will face with less backbone and a 3 points gift, they too are still in the relegation mix.
Also piss off with your gesturing Hyam, worry about your horrific defending than one or two jeers for our negative play.

I'm sorry but the tactic of sending everything down the right in the second half when Pickering was filling a gap for an injury just beggar's belief. He is so one footed that if the ball was played behind him he just had to backwards, it must have happened 30+ times. Yet not a single player or coach tried to change it.

Not seen a replay but it seemed like Wahlstedt would have been nearer to the ball had he literally stood still rather than diving out the fecking way!!

Might have misunderstood this but 40% increase in championship football rights due to American interest? According to the daily mail.
Who'd buy Blackburn rovers?
One thing I remember about TV deals going up, was we dropped out of the Premier League the season they were due a good increase. Don't do it again Rovers!

A massive test of the players stones tonight, we have to get 3 points. We must do the absolute basics that have been missing for months, take chances and be solid at the back. We don't stand a chance without the players doing that.

I had to watch some of the game again on iPlayer over me cornflakes this morning, mainly to see if some of those referee decisions were actually real...
Ones that stood out:
Ayari winning the ball with a good strong tackle, free kick to Newcastle
Garrett, great tackle on the line near the dugout, wins the ball cleanly, free kick to Newcastle
Markanday gets bundled over from behind on the edge of their box, no free kick
Dolan has his shirt grabbed by both hands and held away from the ball in the centre circle as we're on the attack, no free kick
He books Moran immediately early on for a soft professional foul, next actual challenge by a Mag, nowhere near the ball, given nothing.
Special mention to Longstaff and Burn, thought they'd be players up for a scrap but lots of moaning and lying down, bit pathetic really. Longstaff got a really clean tackle and went down like a sack of shit, having a right whinge at the ref and directed some abuse toward the Riverside - get up man!
Another special mention to Danny Murphy for critiquing Sammie for not lifting the ball over their keeper, bloke has put in more effort than you ever did in your entire Rovers career, can barely run and you're telling him he should finish better.
The ref really brought home what Chris Wilder said about Sheff Utd in the Premiership. They simply do not get given the 50/50's ... we struggled to get given the 80/20's last night!

Bollox anyway. Hyam shouldn;t have taken one.
One of the kids misses it and Hyam should have taken it as captain. Catch 22. Great effort from the lads, I'm proud of them all!

Regardless of the outcome of penalties. You boys in Blue and White have been absolute warriors and everything I ever ask of you. Thank you!

I know how Chris Wilder feels in the Prem now. You lose all the 50/50's with refs!!!!

The irony is…the lower down the leagues we go, the cheaper the price…the more attractive we become as a resurrection project…
We just need something to happen sooner rather than later as we are running out of large assets to sell. The Raya money will be arriving in the summer which is highly likely to end up in the black hole with the Kaminski, Phillips and Wharton money.
A new owner coming in and selling Wharton would have given us a real hope of making good signings and building for the future. A new owner arriving with all valuable assets exhausted really ties their hands.

Fleck out for a couple of weeks; JRC for a month.
As good a player as the latter is, we simply cannot rely on him as he's made of glass.
Rankin - Costello is starting to become a real concern. He's not even getting up to speed between injuries at the moment, never mind getting a long run of decent performances.

Sammie looked finished on Saturday, why the hell is he still on the pitch. The subs made no difference, he should have been down the tunnel on 55 mins.
