Thee Michelle Gun Elephant - Satanic Boom Boom Head
Got "Gear Blues" by that lot.
One heck of cranked up sound.

'McCarthy's Bar' & 'The Road To McCarthy' by Pete McCarthy.
Very witty journals of Pete's quest to trace the history of his surname and his Irish roots.
I'll second those two.
The former is funnier (very funny), but the writing in the latter is better and covers a lot more ground. His research into the Tasmanian prisons & his desciption of the conditions is especially moving.

If its that tiresome an issue why have you posted 18 times in this thread???
Ouch!

and
drum roll
*takes deep breath*
Busted do a fantastic version of Teenage Kicks
(teenage kicks by the undertones is one of my all time favourite records, and I never thought I would admit this but the Busted version is excellent. No sarcasm at all, theyve done a cracking job)[/color]
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
It cannot be. Perfection cannot be improved.
I wonder if Busted realise that the line
"I Wanna wanna hold hertight"
was changed at the insistance of the record company from
" I wanna wanna hold it tight.
Yup, a song about stroking the one-eyed snake. Still brilliant though.

Is Cool Claret not coming back?
Shame...she was a good member of this board and gave as good as she got.
Sam Dingle seems to have gone as well unfortunately.
I miss Cool Claret & Sam too.
They were always good for some good humoured chat. I suppose they disappeared due to the mindless insults.
Don't blame them really
Whatever happened to "Gareth The Claret." The one who who was outed as being a colourist of Japanese pornographic magazines?
-
Maybe Stans the man being lined up for Chelski
Claudio goes the other way as a make-weight in the deal?

Let's get this straight.
Ron Atkinson is a racist born of the Alf Garnett generation. It must irk him terribly that the English title was won by a team most of whom are niggers playing the beautiful game with beautiful football.
Atkinson was found out and he has paid the price. Bye bye Ron, the world and your attitudes have moved on .
Well said Jim, sums it all up far better than I could.
-
Ron says that when he was younger phrases like "nigger brown" were commonplace,
My elderly neighbour used to have a dark brown cat she called "Nigger."
It was a hell of a cringe when she used to call it in to be fed.
-
Atkinson called Chelsea defender Marcel Desailly a "###### lazy, thick nigger"
Now if anyone wants to justify that, feel free.
Ian Wright was on Radio Five earlier this evening where he described ocassions where Atkinson made similar "joke" comments to him and Garth Crooks.
Atkinson said that he said he had only made them in jest, but continued to make them and ignored the insult that it caused.

And, Alan75, he comes across as a true gentleman. A credit to himself and his sport.
Alan, thanks for your efforts, you are a credit to this site.
I'll second that
-
Good stuff.
Thank you Alan & Tim

My daughter was broken hearted when, my collie swalled hammy in one bite.
Not our hampster.
It came in a container full of parsnips and Romanians from Ostend. It has big hard mates who will take on those darn Scottish doggies and whup their Jock (ahem) botties.
That Collie of yours, did it ever manage to round up any sheep without bloodshed?
-
Tonight I have a been mostly listening to "Hot Rats"
"I'm a little pimp with my hair slicked back....."
-
I know of a hamster which could take the lot of you on.
One paw tied behind its back.
Cougar? (ppcheww)
-
col and wazza being 100% seriuos ,totally naffed and pished off with the overpaid money stealers.
Me too,
All part of being a football club supporter though isn't it?
Sorry to be so bloody philosophical, we're not down yet and, thank Allah, (hee hee hee) Brian Kidd isn't in charge.
-
C'mon Abbey,
We pay to get entry to watch a game, not to see the team win. No guarantee of that.
They were completely French Connection tummy rubbish on Saturday though.

Sparklehorse - "It's A Wonderful Life"
-
Just for the laymans' layman.
A business analysist on Radio 5 tonight said something along the lines of:
"Yesterday Leeds were hanging on by their fingers. Today they are hanging on by their fingernails."
-
The Stooges - 1st album
Blimey Drummer,
Never thought I'd meet another Stooges fan.
"Out of my brain on a Saturday night...."
Rovers lost again
-
Driving back from ASDA today I spotted a solitary swan
Well thank you. Proves my point exactly. You never see a solitary goose do you?
Soft little chavs, always have to hang around in gangs 'cos they're too soft to go out alone.
Swans. Hard enough to hang about by themselves
And no one has ever had their arm broken by a bloomin' goose.
I rest my case.
It was getting really heavy.
