You'd have thought a £1m+ 3year contract would have been motivation enough to get him off the treatment table, sadly he's just another example of a modern day millionaire footballer that played the system, rather than fancied playing on a Saturday.

Which glosses over the fact that a complete donkey was given the shirt ahead of him., week in week out. That wasn’t King’s choice, and he did well enough at Bournemouth, (where he was played in the correct position).

Sorry LD, but you don't score almost 30 goals in the championship with low footballing intelligence, whatever that means.

Is he as good as Josh King?

Josh King robbed a living here, refused to play, but made a decent fist of it at Bournemouth when he took his head out from up his own backside, pace and an eye for goal.

Be interesting to see how he progresses, I think he'll do ok, I just wish he'd sod off and allow us to crack on.

Whilst King's injury record wasn't great, I too would be demotivated by being understudy to Chris Brown, with occasional starts out of position on the wing.

    It is in his name

Whether Waggot wrote it or not he signed it and all the words therein are his

They really are not, and that is obvious. It's about as genuine as "Dacky's personal message" to non renewing season ticket holders.

A bit off toffee thrown for the benefit of the gullible.

In this modern age, how about a video message? Now that would at least be genuine, if not necessarily sincere.

I think this is the last desperate attempt by Waggott and Pasha to drum up some interest and entice some fans back before the season starts.

The damage their regime has caused will be coming clear now with awful season ticket sales and the last trick up the sleeve is to try and win people over with something 'direct' from the owners reaffirming their commitment at a time when there are rightly serious questions being asked again about their running of the club.

I very much doubt Balaji has written this. Probably dictated or prepared by Waggott and then emailed over for his staff to transpose onto his letterhead and for his signature. Appears therefore more authentic than merely a typed article on the website as in previous years.

Agreed. Surely no-one is naive enough to believe that Balaji Rao wrote that? Obviously Waggott's words, endorsed by Venkys.

That may be Exiled but this shit storm is of their own making...they get zero Kudos from me personally.

Selling your top striker and not reinvesting is a recipe for disaster. It will do nothing but compound our problems on the Pitch.

I think Armstrong will leave, his head has been turned.

    Can you blame him?

With everything that's going on it will be a miracle if we're not soon in trouble.

The manager and assistant manager don't agree on how we should play?

This is going to end really well, I'm sure.

A different opinion on how to do things can be healthy, providing it's constructive and the manager and assistant are both competent, eg Clough and Taylor.

Unfortunately, we have dumb and dumber.

Not talking about you and appreciate totally that many fans have stopped going due to the ownership.

However Unsall is correct many fans stopped going because we lost our place in the top division. When we have played big clubs in the cups, United and Liverpool then the stadium was a sell out

There’s always going to be a drop off after the loss of Premiership status, but look at the attendances from 1999 - 2001, and that will tell you the current disinterest is not just about divisional status.

A lot of folk (myself included) could stomach being in the Championship, providing we were well run and competitive.

Some people don't use email, or twitter, or the Internet.

Might sound ridiculous to some people on here but it isn't.

I haven't had an email, letter, or call. I don't buy local newspapers. Good job I spend my time online. If I didn't I doubt I'd have known without word of mouth.

I see Rich Sharpe is still awaiting a response to a question on how sales are going. Tells me all I need to know.

Yes, plenty of people not prepared to pay to watch a non results based football club, in the hands of leeches and parasites.

  9. Who knows whether or not Mowbray had any involvement in the proposed training ground sell off, (although it wouldn't surprise me).

All I know is that for several months he has portrayed an "up yours" attitude to the supporters, with his ridiculous and provocative quotes.

At no other club would he have survived, which is evidence he is virtually untouchable and holds far too much power and control.

John Park might be a decent acquisition, but I totally understand the negativity and cynicism regarding his appointment, given his links with Mowbray and Venus.

Just gives the impression of another one on the gravy train.

I anticipate a very tough season ahead, obviously more so if Armstrong leaves.

The club has all the hallmarks of potential relegation fodder.

Have you seen the videos I posted in the pre season thread in the training camp? Both featured heavily in the clips.

Haven't Dolan and Gallagher pick up slight knocks in the training camp?

Surely it's right not to take a risk in the first pre season game?

We have 4 keepers in the squad. So 2 were always going to miss out?

Let’s be honest, Armstrong was never going to be involved today.

Yes, he’s been training, but that’s far more low risk than playing, and a level of fitness is also obviously in the interests of any potential new club.

I expect the likes of Johnson and Ayala to be enjoying the sanctuary of the physio department at regular intervals throughout the season.

Good work, if you can get it.

Tony can't even be bothered to think of an injury.

The scene is set for a season of "senior players" enjoying time off, as we embark on our journey up sh*t creek.

Just imagine how uninspiring it must be for a player to turn up for pre-season after that run last year to find the usual suspects all still in place, as you were, ready to do it all over again.

Why would anyone want to be part of that?

Easy money. Just get behind the none results based lads FFS 😉

Wasn't Cheston semi in charge around then ?

Just another in shoes two sizes too big for his feet, although i heard he did some sterling work in the last mess of taps off / FFP thumbscrews etc.

End of the day it's a collective cock up that's landed us here again. Manager and CEO wasting money and not making the most of it. Owners spending big on whims then not on essentials. Yet happy to lose 20 million through the clubs books per year.

Doubt anybody takes much notice or the power point man, doesn't sound like anybody listens to anybody much.

Another illustration that the people officially running the show are subservient to the advisers.

The manager has more clout than the executives at Venky Rovers.

Waggott and Mowbray rightfully coming in for a lot of stick here, but let’s not forget we also have a finance director!

Cheston would be the one responsible for submitting the accounts. He’s got previous for steering us into an embargo and seems completely incapable of doing anything to prevent us bleeding money at the alarming and consistent rate we have done for the past decade. And that’s before we get on to the whole Coyle being the outstanding candidate debacle.

Agree re - the accounts, but wasn't it Cheston who had successfully conducted negotiations with Warnock, only to be over-ruled and undermined when he went off on holiday?

I suspect he was simply towing the line with his "outstanding candidate" claim with reference to Coyle.

He was quite a prolific goal scoring centre forward at lower level. He couldn’t make the step up to the level we are at now. A tall guy who was reputedly a good header of the ball.  He was, shall we say, a speculative signing, who played 10 games and scored 1 goal in the 1966-67 season. He returned to the level he was previously at after one season.

Sounds a bit like Paul McKinnon, (from around a decade later).

Anyway, not to worry about Wyke making the step up, as we will likely be making the step down in the not too distant future.

the only message it sends is that people are fickle Man United turn up in the cup so do the fans, there are plenty of excuses going about as to why fans don't want to go. The Venkys argument is neither here nor there for me now I boycotted for 4 years didn't change anything. I had to separate my apathy for the owners and pretty much every manager they have appointed and focuses on the lads on the pitch, having kids also helped. Living in Manchester now I wouldn't want them hoovered up to a manc club support wise

Whilst I totally understand your reasons / logic for continuing to attend, and have no issue with people who are making that choice, let's be absolutely clear that blame for dwindling crowds lies solely at the owners' door after a decade of destruction.

If they, or other people, cannot see the connection, they are in denial, (or just thick).

Our hopeless, so called CEO is blatantly going through the motions with the season ticket 'campaign'.

    That really says it all.
