We had the squad and players but not the manager to get over the line.
Am I right in thinking that Mowbray persevered with Gallagher as a wing forward for two seasons, until the final games of this season? I suppose he looks at Real Madrid and wonders what they could achieve if Benzema was out wide.
Gallagher did well as a number 9 target man today, won some headers. Should have been there all along

Hedges is a really clever footballer. Tha t through ball for Markanday there case and point.
Plenty of talent in the squad even if Breo gets sold.

Vale looks a step quicker this time around.

How does Wharton not block that? He is right there

Hope Mr Farke is watching this.

How's Hedges looked?
Very good. Great touch and weight of pass. Big player next year

Brown reminds me a little bit of Lucas Neil. Stocky, tough.

Buckley has really carried the ball well today.

Should have been sent off too, for me.
No chance, he lost his balance from stepping on the ball.

Hedges looks our best player.
Brereton dreadful

That article has all the markings of a broadcasting intern. Sheer nonsense.
Farke will be the new manager, announced Monday I reckon.

Zeefuik at £3.5M is a none starter for me. I’d much prefer the Barnsley RB.
I thought it was around 2m?

I would like to see Zeefuik and Khadra back next year, preferably for low fees.
Zeefuik just needs to settle in, he is quick for sure, and Farke will want a fast RB.

Pickering is more than good enough at left back and one of best performance until his injury. Looks like better at full back then wing back.
Agreed but he has been absolutely horrific since he came back. Treats the ball like a hot potato, first thought is always can I find Kaminski from here. Slowest full back on record. Major question marks on him for me. Wharton and Carter look like the starters at Cb next year, or maybe Ayala might manage the first couple then disappear.

Farke is the most obvious choice.

Wharton's lack of pace had been utterly exposed in the past couple of months. He looks like he's dragging a ball and chain. Coupled with the sluggish Pickering it's a recipe for disaster on the left side of the defence.
When Solanke beat him in the air, flicked it on and it then ran round him with a five yard head start. It was embarrassing.

My MOM was Billing. What a fantastic player! He is tall, has long legs, can run fast, can play intricate football, has a football brain, can score goals, can make goals.............
Where the hell did they get him from? Lovely player!
As for Rovers, we were outclassed. I'm not as incensed as I was after Posh and Potters, mind.
I stayed to applaud the lads and their families. I even shouted, "Thank you, Tony" and meant it.
What the hell lies in store for us now I haven't a clue. It will be an interesting summer.
Zero business in the championship. Shearer would have been chuffed with those finishes today.

Travis and Buckley are good enough to attract clubs further up the food chain.
Not for me, both mid table championship players at best.

That was a Premier League team playing a team that are playing as championship relegation fodder. And it showed.
Truly embarrassing stuff, Wharton and Pickering both couldn’t keep up with there pace and where left for dead multiple times. Pass back after pass back, going nowhere. Snoozefest.Thank god this nightmare is nearly over.

Pickering is absolutely woeful

Sheff Utd are away at QPR and then home to Fulham. Don’t fancy that much.

Thank god we are back with the 4-3-3

May be wise to get Bucko off before he gets sent off
Always disappears in second halfs.
I’d take a peek at Poveda if your offering

Turns out Lenihan can play right back. Terrific game from him.

This whole “the club is a mess cause I’ve not been offered a new contract” is a pile of nonsense. You haven’t been offered a new contract Tony cause you/we have been absolutely abysmal since January. It’s time for a change, I wouldn’t be chatting to you either about a new contract. Little silly to comment on it, should be private.
Of course Steve doesn’t make the decisions on the manager.
