  1. The only way to play Benni is in Dunn's roll and Dunn slots in the the space left by the removal of Keef...!

Sounds like a very sensible suggestion to me. However in the best interests of your health I would not hold your breath. The concept of Sam saying "Perhaps I ought to reconsider my strategic options in light of 10 away defeats and few goal scoring opportunities" is as unlikely as rocking horse poo.

Couple of good posts there, gents.

  2. Cheers. If it were true, you have to wonder how we'd be able to replace someone of Benni's class!

If it is one of Nicko's he tends to get more right than wrong - although he's been on today and didn't mention it.

Let's hope this isn't Sam's way of funding a move for Kevin Davies. If he was on the agenda, surely the natural swap would be Roberts.

  3. Even now, several weeks after Sir Bobby's death, I am yet to hear or read one single sick joke about his passing, which serves as a great testament to the man.

Agreed, and that's a pretty good barometer you're using - particularly these days.

  4. all west ham will get will be a suspended punishment of some sort and a warning to their future behaviour

If that. So far all the talk has been about banning individual 'fans'.

Comments from Bevington say it all really:

When quizzed whether the clubs could face repercussions, he replied: "That's why we need to understand exactly what arrangements were put in place. We don't know the full details.

"It would be wrong of me to say clubs face action because if the clubs have taken every measure possible, then why would they face action?

    FA to review ugly scenes

Looks to me as though he's already positioning himself to take no action against the clubs.

  5. Never met Bobby Robson up close and aside from the touchline at Ewood only really on TV but he came across as a genuine bloke who fell in love with football as a child and decided he wanted to be a part of it for the rest of his life. Always a twinkle in his eye when he spoke about the game, his beloved Newcastle and England.

He appeared delighted when Shearer scored the penalty that gave England the victory of Germany that he (and all of us) would have loved to have seen 19 years ago. Even when he was in the final throws of the @#/? illness that cancer is, he was still loving his football.

RIP Bobby - one of the last true gentlemen of football.

  6. (To the tune of Copacabana...)

    and he scores from anywhere!

    His name is Carlos

_ he's magic on the ball

    and he's scored another goal!
