1. Oh of course I 100% agree... My comment wasn't aimed at you in any way, just really a statement of we are ahead of Newcastle, and many other ''bigger'' clubs at the moment, and the only way we can stay there is by pushing ourselves to the absolute limit.

It's worked in the past, it's working at the moment and I'm damn sure it'll work in the future.

  2. One feels DDs career is on the downward slide now. His arrival at Newcastle just makes me want Rovers to finish above them even more than ever now. Then we can say to him that he should have had patience and stay at Rovers.

Think his lack of 'patience' paid off....

2 Championships and a League Cup. Three more medals than he would have had.

  3. Well done Shillito- I bow to your superior foresight.

Just out of interest, unlike SGE, have you ever seen Walcott playing in the flesh?

I've only ever seen him play two full games to be honest, and it was at a time when Saints were drawing every week but he did look like a player with alot of potential.

I was expecting him to have made an impact in the PL when I suggested he could be in the squad, but one thing I would say is, Arsene Wenger is the manager I admire and respect the most in the world, and if he can honestly say that this player can go to a WC and make a positive impact, then that's all I need to hear.

Wenger gains nothing but a broken kid if he goes and disgraces himself, or isn't up to it.

  4. I enjoy sparring with you shillito as you fall for every trap I leave for you.

    I didn't say I hadn't seen him play did I?

Presumably you think Arsenal Academy, Reserves or subs bench is an appropriate place from which to pick the England World Cup squad?

I guess he'll get a bit of a run for the Arse first team but he'll be in and out like Fabregas has been. Don't forget there's the Arsenal signings in Egypt at the moment.

Thought this thread would be interesting to bring back and have another read over eh Philip!! tongue.giflaugh.gifwink.gif

As suprised as I am, seems my raised possibility has come off after all!!

  5. rover.gif i was one whats pathetic about it?as for the game sven should be on the phone to mourinoho.

england need cole/terry/lampard in germany so they should not play,if they do and get done so be it,a draw is on the cards, score draw more favourable than most tinykit.gif

Only just read back to this after seeing you quote my post, but I think my comment went over your head.

Read Joeys previous post and it might make more sense. tinykit.gif

  6. Newcastle aren't in it anymore. It is just between Bolton and us.

    403794

    That is blatantly not true.

If Rovers had Boltons' two home games, we would be expecting us to get four points, though everyone else would be expecting us to get six.

Newcastle are as in it as Bolton are, but I think we should comfortably get 6th.

  7. I'd hate Spurs to put a dent in the big teams.

I hate any other team over achieving apart from ourselves. It makes things harder for us to reach our full potential.

A mediocre Spurs team finishing 9th benefits Rovers, not a Spurs team getting it right; That means we can't finish as high.

  8. The is no alternative.

    Ashton? Do me a favour.

There will be nobody going to this World Cup with no caps.

The very thought of it is rediculous in itself, but starting somebody with no caps up front on his own?

Sven would really have surpassed himself if he tried that.

  9. That's a dislocation.

I think "break" and "fracture" can be used interchangably. An open (green?) fracture is when the bone pokes out of the skin.

I just hope Rooney's a quick healer. I'd put him in the squad anyways. And I'd certainly be taking Defoe now.

    403515

Of course, you are but correct....

Incidently, this is the time I wish we had Scolari as manager.

He would simply decide if Rooney was fit enough, or going to be, and make a decision. We need to know one way or another if he's going, as the uncertainty is just as bad as the injury itself.

  10. I thought a fracture was when the bone is moved out of place, therefore it doesn't actually have to heal, but just be moved back into place and given time to regain strength.

A break is when the bone actually, well, breaks.

Possibly wrong, but that's what I always thought, though it's a while since GCSE PE took place.

  11. Would imagine Jose might rest a few of those going to the World Cup, whilst playing some of those still trying to secure their place; Certainly don't expect to see Terry.

My guess would be a team of..

    Cech

    Johnson Carvaliho Huth Del Horno

    Essien

    Gudjohnson Maniche

    Wright Phillips Duff

    Crespo

Not a bad reserve team though.
