  1. But Oasis, I feel were more influenced by the Stone Roses than the Beatles.

After listening to Dance Anthems last Sunday and hearing some travesty of a cover of Bianry Finary's 1998 (There was singing over it!!!!The HORROR!! THE INFAMY!!! etc) I was having a mooch through my old Dance/Trance collection (1995 - 2003 - the best years of decent House and Trance) could I recommend that people have a look at

    Binary Finanry's - 1998

    Mario Picotto - Lizard

    Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar (1998)

Paul Van Dyke - For An Angel

    South Side Spinners - Luvstruck

    Barthezz - On the Move

Joss Wink - Higher States of Consciousness

    Pianoman - Blurred

    Blank and Jones - Cream

System F - Out of the Blue

Ooo the nostalgia's come flooding back, Gatecrasher, Godskitchen, Cream, Globalgathering, Glow Sticks, sweat dripping off the ceiling at the Sanctury, happy days. Right im off to find my whistle

Don't forget anything by Voodoo and Serano or DJ Tiesto!

For a long time 'Barthezz - On The Move' was my boys' anthem. Gives me goosebumps when I hear it now and remember the abuse we used to submit our bodies to!

  2. Bentley is much the better footballer of the three- the other two would be pretty ordinary if you took their blistering pace away.

Hold on a minute, that's like saying take Van Nistelrooy's finishing away and he would be very average! Of course he would - it's his main attribute. Lennon doesn't just have pace, he has pace that in my opinion only a few players on the world stage can match. Yes, there are areas of his play that can be improved upon, but like Bentley he is still developing. Remember though, Lennon is only NINETEEN.

If I were to give Bentley a chance it wouldn't be at the expense of Lennon. I would perhaps try J Cole on the left, Bentley and Gerrard in the middle, and Lennon on the right.

But hey....it will NEVER happen. McClaren does not have the balls to drop any of Gerrard, Lampard, Rooney, Ferdinand etc for an extended period of time.

  3. I wouldn't agree with that. While not nearly as skillful as Bentley and less proficient at crossing Reid has attributes that Bentley lacks- pace and power. Honestly in many of the grittier games we were playing this season (West Ham, Watford anyone) we really missed Reid. His scoring record is comparable to Bentley's also.

While I think Bentley is a better player than Reid, but not by that long a chalk at the moment, my point was if Reid comes back and we go out and buy and absolutely first rate striker to partner Benni with the cash might we have a better overall team?

Idle speculation, but this summer is going to be full of it!

I agree with all of that Joey. I'd add that Bentley is going nowhere this summer, he's enjoying his football too much. Coincidentally it was all about Reidy going to United last year!

    My midfield for next season:

    Pedersen Savage Reid Bentley

  4. First time I've seen the Routledge goal and all I can say is what a world class ball from Derbyshire for all the "high class technical finish" guff about the tap-in.

If the defender had have applied himself properly, that ball would have easily been intercepted. When play like that is being described as 'world-class', then I worry sometimes. In addition Derbyshire is not world-class, or anywhere near it in fact, but he could be in the future.

  5. Well I got my free fiver up to about £37, now on the 5.20 I've got bets on Ouninpohja to win at 5/1, Maralan e/w at 33/1, Arcalis e/w and The Spoonplayer e/w at 100/1.

    Come on!

Also, I was feeling a bit lucky today and rang up a few times for the Deal Or No Deal phone-in competition and was successful in the end. Now I thought they announced the winner at the end of the show, but I don't think they did at 5pm. Anyone know if the show is repeated where they announce the winner?

  6. I saw The Bees when they supported Oasis at the city of Manchester stadium. They were ok but their sound engineer should have been sacked because the all around feel wasnt right. The Coral who came on after them sounded much better.

I must say after seeing Oasis a few times, The Coral have been completely disappointing every time I've seen them supporting. I just can't understand what people see in them.

A couple of my favourite songs at the moment:

    The Twang - Wide Awake

The Enemy - Away From Here

  7. I thought he was good today but not great. He didn't seem to get involved much until well-into the second half. He was lucky with both goals but finished well, and his penalty was......er....pathetic. However, he seems to be a lot more confident as someone has said, and seems more willing to run at defenders (to a pretty good effect aswell).

I think a big issue here will have been his fitness, and I now expect him to remain consistent for the remainder of the season. He will get his chances and it's upto him to take them. I'm afraid if his performances drop again then he will not be a worthwhile signing in the summer.

COME ON CHRIS SHOW US WHAT YOU'RE MADE OF LAD!!!

  8. I can't understand players coming on for the last 20 minutes or so like yesterday, yet not busting a gut for those 20 minutes. I would run and run till I was sick if I was playing for any club (barring the obvious ones) if I was being paid all that money. I know the lad scored but he was pretty lucky with it, and didn't do anything else.

Mind you McCarthy looks like he's got something on his mind recently.

  9. Instead of having breaks in play and /or replays on contentious issues during a game (like in rugby and cricket), why don't they just have a referee (they could even use the fourth official) just watching the game on TV in the dugout. If he sees something that the referee misses or sees that the ball has crossed the line etc, he could just buzz the ref and let him know of the situation.

That way we will get away from this situation whereby the supporter watching at home has a greater understanding of the game at hand.

I'm telling you we're only a couple of years away from having a Big Brother style "vote off the most disliked referee" every week.

  10. I think in many ways Matt is 'living the dream' which will in my opinion stop him getting carried away with himself at the moment, and also lessen the confidence blow when the goals dry up at various stages of his career.

Even though David Dunn played for his boyhood team, I think the circumstances are different because Dunn came through the ranks and was always going to be a professional footballer destined for football at the higher ends of the Football League/Premiership. Derbyshire however, was old enough when he first signed for our club to realise just how lucky he was, especially having worked for the club behind the scenes.

I just feel Matt is genuinely proud to be playing for Blackburn Rovers, and that is something for us ALL to be getting excited about, regardless of the speculation as to what he may or may not achieve over his football career.
