  1. When it comes to people who quite happily abuse people for no reason, who are so utterly vile and cretinous that they have to concentrate to breathe, I take the Stalinist line: Every person has a problem. No person, no problem. I have had yahoos like that shout abuse at me, assault me and wind me up for many years because I'm not one of 'them'. I'm sick of those people who are only genetically human making life a misery for others and associating themselves with things I like (e.g. Blackburn Rovers). I'm bored of being reminded of how pathetic and futile my species is.

Why don't we all just kill ourselves now then, eh? :(

    Seriously bud, cheer up. :lol::brfc::lol:

  2. I'm not having a knee-jerk reaction or anything like that - we lost simply because we were shocking at finishing today. You get these games once, maybe twice a season, like the match at home against Crewe a few years ago when we had about 25 shots ON TARGET but lost 1-0.

    However, there are a few things that are starting to worry me and this is based on the season overall not just today;

    - Benni McCarthy does not get involved enough for my liking. He doesn't look like the 'predator' that his goal record and current goal-tally suggest. I know this sounds daft as he is our top scorer and doing quite well, but I think he is overrated personally.

    - MGP's pace is shocking. I am convinced that I am faster over 100 yards. Today his passing was poor, he didn't get involved and he looked weak. Compare this to his great performance at home to Salzburg and it gets infuriating at times.

    - Aaron Mokoena. Is it just me, or does anybody else groan when he gets brought on? Now don't get me wrong, he's very physical and for his size possesses great pace. However, he genuinely looks scared of the ball - he panics! Now it must be hard coming on halfway through a hot-tempered fast-paced game, but regular top-flight substitutes need to be battle-ready.

    ----------RANT OVER------------

How much more enjoyable is Ewood with a packed house though? One thing I did think when the 27k attendance was announced - where the hell were the four thousand (ish) empty seats? Another tax-fiddle by the Rovers I wonder? :P

  3. yes but one you can do something about - the other you can't and shouldn't want to. He should be able to be proud of being a black south African doing well in international sport particularly after the history of apartheid

So what's he getting all upset about then if he is proud? I don't condone racism, but agree that a 'colour of the skin' remark is surely no worse than someone calling you a 'fat pig' or a 'ginger freak' or whatever. They are all just remarks on someone's appearance with the intent on causing offence.

Believe it or not, in East European countries calling someone fat is more offensive than poking fun at the colour of their skin. But then again, we won't think twice about singing 'oooooooooh you fat bstard' at a goalkeeper will we?

The only difference is that everybody get's all uptight about racism when in fact it shouldnt make any odds what 'type' of offence it is. If someone called me a 'white bstard' I would NOT be offended.

  4. As a non-seasonticket holder I must say the £15 option FOR ALL AREAS is a cracking offer. My brother works lates so I'll probably use his season-ticket, but even so I would have gone anyway at these prices. I have often criticised the club in the past over ticket policy, especially for the Everton game earlier this season, but the club has reacted magnificently and hopefully will set a trend for other clubs.

  5. Paul Warhurst - Probably a strange inclusion, but for me a player who had huge ability and potential that was never really fullfilled. On his day again great to watch. If it wasn't for injury and being lazy could have been great. Still really enjoyed wathcing him play though.

My manager played with Paul Warhurst in the Bolton youth teams, and he said that depite him being easily the least talented in the age group at the time, his dedication and commitment paid off in the long-run. He also played with Garry Flitcroft, who he said wasn't that great either.

  6. The buzz about this game is similar to the Dingle FA cup tie.

I don't know about anyone else, but this is simply not true for me.

Playing the Dingles is about as tense or buzzing as it gets. Everything at stake - years of bragging rights, local pride etc. We play Bolton every year, and what with their unbelievably shyte football and our unbelievably shyte attendances, this is going to be far from a 'Lancashire Hotpot'. Let's just hope the attendances part improves.

  7. stop talking about the bolton game ....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

im not here for it bea cuse of the sunday kick off

anyone know if theres footy shown in goa?

Abs - there's loads of footy in the beach shacks in Goa mate. I'd be very surprised if they didn't show the Rovers/Wankies game in India. On Saturdays, they usually show three games. I don't think I've ever missed a Rovers game whilst on holiday in Goa.

The reduction in ticket prices is an excellent idea for this game though. I'll be attending this game simply because it fits into my 'acceptable price bracket'. I would imagine a fixture of this nature is exactly the type of game that many pay-as-you-go fans will be sitting on the fence so to speak. The fact that they have reduced prices must surely mean it will sway the fans towards attending.

However, pricing the tickets competitively is one thing, but advertising the fact is another. The club should be throwing up adverts everywhere - from billboards in Blackburn to bus stops in Burnley and Preston. Let's get some numbers in!!!

I reckon at least 25k for this match.

  8. Jan you really are most annoying. Not only was that reply to Abbey uncalled for, can you really justify your support for a club when you seem to base that support on your personal opinion of a manager? Not only are you saying you supported Celtic more because you 'despised' Graeme Souness, but now you're saying you support them the same amount because you think Mark Hughes is 'lovely'!?!

Despite his later days at the club being absolute dogger, Souness also achieved a lot of postitives at Rovers. I can recall everyone saying he was the 'best manager since Kenny' and all that. He took us up, he won us a cup and got us into Europe and gave us some pride back. He probably took us as far as he could, and I can't believe you can still have the same hatred for the guy AFTER he achieved all that.

What has Souness actually done to insult you anyway? My guess is it's simply because he is one of the more successful and passionate Rangers legends, and you just can't handle that type of insult to your beloved Celtic.

  9. PS - Am I the only one who suspects that the crowd was bigger than 19,000 ?

No you're not Phil - Rovers definitely on the tax fiddle.

I was sat in the Blackburn End and it seemed pretty full to me, and the Riverside and JW looked fuller than normal to me. We even had fans in the Darwen End wearing blue and white!!!!

We need to seriously consider putting away fans in the Riverside, or maybe last night we could have given them the last two rows!

  10. Fantastic night all round.

Good performance, we were never in any real danger, and Sparky obviously thinks we can make a real impact this year.

I was just thinking Bentley had had a poor first half with his delivery and he screams goal of the season in.

Excellent crowd for a televised game with no away following - obviously only superstella's mates didn't turn up.

Ooijer got the Peter Jackson mom award but I thought Emerton walked it.

MGP had a scintillating second half which makes you wonder why he looks like he's never seen a football before when he's off his game.

The most important thing was that there was a real feel good factor at the ground again for the first time this season.

I mostly agree there Rev, but the atmosphere still wasn't all that good IMO. At times it felt like nobody could be arsed.

  11. And you think there's a SINGLE Celtic fan who doesn't hate Barry Ferguson with a fiery poison? Not all atmospheres are as dead as Rovers!!!

Once again Jan 'multi-club' Jock jumps to her first-club's defence.

The only reason Celtic/Rangers fans make a lot of noise is because they have a lot of 'vocal' support in the shape of the 'We Hate Pakis' Salzburg brigade. It would be interesting for you to explain the difference between say sectarian chanting and racist chanting.

    Thanks me darling.

  12. I'm currently fifth in the Premiership with Carlisle United in 2010. I think the game is a bit too easy once you get going, but very very addictive and enjoyable all the same. Steffen Iversen and Sherman Andres Cardenas are legends.

The results seem to be a bit random aswell to be honest. The same team that won at Anfield, Emirates Stadium and Old Trafford, got spanked 6-1 at home by Southampton and knocked out of the League Cup by someone like Oxford.

Once won a league one game 9-0 with Iversen scoring eight though.

  13. The official site's match report mentions Nonda as the "Congalese captain"... do we have yet another captain on our team?

I thought he only had something like 3 international caps, which makes it unlikely that he is the captain. I think LuaLua is their main striker.

In fact I just checked on Soccerbase, and it says he has never played for his country!?! I'm surprised if that's true.

    http://www.soccerbase.com/players_details.sd?playerid=21406

On a side note, his record of 0.47 goals per game is amazing.
