'Beauty is in the eye of the beholder' !
What did Kenny see in Matt Dickens, what did Brian Kidd see in Ashley Ward, what did Roy see in Christian Dailly, what did Souey see in Grabbi? Dickens was signed for a song but the other three cost big money and didn't cut it for Rovers.
Let's face it, all managers sign their fair share of duds including the likes of Fergie, Mourinho, Pep etc.
If Mowbray and his cohorts did identify Brereton and were solely responsible for his signing then their judgement may very soon come into question.
Matt Dickens could shout "Clear your lines!" really loudly. Don't know if that was a good enough reason to sign him though.

If Tony signs Jack Rodwell I hope that he has done “due diligence “ by talking to Chris Coleman and others as to his current attitude, fitness and ability rather than relying on what he was like in his “glory” days.
Or even Danny Graham who was in the same Sunderland squad?

Smallwood gives 100 percent. He's a poor man's Savage. He would be great coming off the bench to help close out games. A great squad player. Shouldn't be a definite starter though as technically he's quite poor. The higher up the league you aspire, the more technical/footballing ability you need. Such is life.
Tell that to a Mr M Atkins!

I wouldn't like to guess the modern equivalent signings of speedie and newell.

The point is you wouldn't play Speedie and Dickov together in the same team. Its certainly true that lack of height doesn't prevent you being an effective forward but someone up there has to be a threat in the air otherwise you rob yourself of a host of goal chances.
Speedie was the threat in the air. He climbed up the opposition centre backs iirc.

It doesn't take long for team spirit to go out of the window if you're getting dicked every week.
Is that why WAGs generally don't seem to get along too well??

However, he is the kind of striker-winger who fits our system.
Does that mean we have signed (hopefully), a stringer?

Maddison, right age, mobile, skilful, wand of a left foot. If the venkys are serious about buying players to improve the team with potential increase in value in a couple of years surely he is worth a punt even at 2.5 million. In todays market its chicken feed!

Josh Morris anyone? Discussion not rumour.

Sam Gallagher and Armstrong. Potentially a good pairing and possible?

The plus point for having "Venkys" as a shirt sponsor would be that they have put money into the club/team without it affecting ffp. Downside might be very few shirt sales..

Not necessarily with the family enclosure being relocated and and an empty BBE upper tier. Just pointing out BTW that cameras have been located here before.

The TV cameras used to be on a gantry in the riverside (the current one not the original) before the Jack Walker stand was rebuilt. At least when we are on TV the smallest stand in the ground is not visible.

Armstrong was pointing for balls down the channels as well. Didn't get them. Couldn't believe how Nyambe was bombing down the wing, didn't know he could do it. He was MOM for me today. Thought Rodwell played well at the back today, but I think he might be our ball playing midfielder, just need to get Tugay back over to give him some pointers. He doesn't look like a footballer who has lost his love of the game (i.e Bentley) just one that maybe has been badly advised in the past.
