Venky's want Premier League football. Several Indian consortiums have looked at clubs in the past year including Chelsea and Leeds. The amount of abuse, mocking etc if that happens in Indian media for them will be huge. Only way to stop that is if we go up or look like we will.

Also in the past 2 seasons we've spent close to £10m on loans so not a trivial amount as you seem to think.

If they want PL football, why did they not strengthen in January, remove TM during the death spiralas would have happened anywhere else or hired a proven manager this season.

    What uninspiring names...

Ainsworth would be the best "cheap" signing.

Ferguson, Walsh, Woodgate? Do we want to go back to League 1?

There's managers like Carvalhal, Farke, Bilic and Dyche out of work and we're going to end up with another total novice.

I'd take the likes of Warburton and Holloway over some of these managers with next to no experience.

Ainsworth wouldn't be a cheap option

Just been having a look at Lowe's coaching history.

    A summary:

Lowe began his coaching career in 2002 at Wigan under Paul Jewell. He then followed Jewell to Derby in 2007 where he became the Head of Youth Academy.

Incidentally, Paul Jewell is a client of HSH.

Lowe leaves Derby in 2009 and does some part time work for Man United at one of their Soccer Schools.

In August 2010 Lowe joins the backroom team at Tranmere Rovers.

10 months later, Lowe is appointed as a Head of Youth coach at Rovers in June 2011, during the height of the SEM/Kentaro shit show.

Lowe has remained in place for 11 years despite a number of managerial changes. Now we are hearing how, apparently, the owners aren't willing to replace him and the other staff, meaning they will be foisted on the new manager.

Carvalhal is sat before you yet you piss him around by telling him he has to work with Lowe. Seriously? No proper manager will accept this crap.

Lowe isn't some kind of top class coach that can't be replaced, in my opinion.

I'm also not liking the pals talk mentioned in the posts above. Consider the connections for a minute and where this all could possibly lead back to.

I heard on good authority that during his time working with the youths, he was sacked and he went running to India and was reinstated! He is unsackable.

I think our last hope of anyone decent being employed is probably Critchley or Ainsworth. Neither of them are established enough to demand more than what they'll get from Venkys as owners.. well not to start with anyway, give it a few months and they could quite easily fuck it off.

Not a prayer,we will not pay compensation

Lancashire Telegraph claiming Ainsworth isn't on the shortlist. LancsLive and Nixon claiming that he is.

I'm more inclined to believe Sharpe. He may not come out with exciting rumours, but I think he's closer to what's going on at the club than any other reporter.

Ainsworth won't be on our shortlist because they will not pat the compensation.

Yeah that's what worries me, I would have thought ainsworth is still in contract so would be compensation, but happy to be corrected. Don't get me wrong I'd back him if he came in, we've been linked with a lot worse but I just think we need a more experienced and reputable name to sell some season / gate tickets and attract the talent needed to complement who's in place already and play an improved game.

Ainsworth under contract and don't think Venkys would pay the compensation.

@glen9mullanThe rumours atm all seem to suggest that the managerial search has only just begun, with shortlists being drafted up and interviews soon to be scheduled. Whilst this wouldn't be surprising, given there is still no official statement about TM, you said you heard Farke was in the picture back in March. This goes against the current consensus as it suggests there HAS been some planning going on behind the scenes, albeit perhaps w/o any of the boards involvement.

Do you believe, as the reports suggest , we are playing catch-up again or do you think an appointment is imminent?

This is Venkys we are dealing with and i know from a national sports journalist that they were tempted to try and bring in Mark Hughes after a bad run of results last season. That is not to say he is in the running now in Venky Fantasy World

That's why you interview people and asked them about their plans going forward including the style of play he would bring and would it suit the squad, transfer and wage budget, backroom staff changes, Would they keep bringing through academy players, etc. I have said I would interview Ainsworth and see what happens there.

Yes I am aware of those facts about age, possession and passes. Maybe that why he played that way cos of those reasons.

Doesn't matter, Suhail knows nothing about football.

Mowbray told the players after the Coventry game that he would be leaving at the end of the season. I’m not sure why, but he did. Whether that ties in with Paul Mani’s “he’s already signed to be WBA manager” I’m not sure, but it does mean that thankfully we don’t need to put up with him much longer.

If that is correct he should have done the honourablie thing and walked then.

    That's actually incorrect.

Middlesbrough were 2nd on 31st December in the 2011-12 season, and finished 7th, only winning 6 of there last 23 games.

The season after was even worse, they were 3rd on 29th December and finished 16th, only winning only 3 of there last 21 games.

I'll let you work out who was in charge of them during that time. The bloke is a disaster and i'm just amazed more can't see it.

    Mowbray out

Heartbreaking. Absolute shite from Tony Mowbray. We’ve got players playing out of position all over the pitch and he’s allowing this team to bottle it from a position of comfort. Sack him now. This evening. He’s a disgrace.

Mowbray should have been gone ages ago, but many happy clappers can't see it

  12. Why did Venkys buy our club and what do they get from it?

The only chance of them getting a chunk of their money back is to return to the Premier League. Now is the best chance they may ever have of promotion but today just shows a lack of ambition!

One plus for them is stopping Rothwell signing for Bournemouth, but Mowbrays comments after Luton were disgraceful. Venkys aren't happy at this episode and will make their feelings known. Waggott and company aren't fit for purpose and need removing asap.
