Nate Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Just got a Dell XPS with Vista. Whole thing is sweet and runs well, all except Outlook 2007. I have set everything up as I should, but keep getting an error message when i try to open Outlook which reads: "The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action." I click on ok then Outlook just closes. Has anybody here encountered this and if so, how do I fix it?!

Cocker Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Sounds like you might have told it to connect to an exchange server and because you (I am guessing) dont have one - it cant find it so closes. I suspect that you may just need to set it up to collect for pop 3. Set up the programme to use pop3 and hopefully this should sort you out
Nate Posted October 4, 2007 Author Posted October 4, 2007 Thanks Cocker. Similar problem. I had it set for a POP3 but after reading what you said I discovered there were two accounts, one which was called Microsoft Exchange Server. So I deleted that and now it works. Was weird as I had the POP3 set up as default Thanks.
