As I stated in another thread. Key game has to be Wigan v West Ham. West Ham win then I think we are safe, regardless of our results.

West Ham beat Wigan then...

West Ham maximum points = 39

Wigan maximum points = 39

Providing United beat Blackpool then the maximum they can get is 39.

It's a good job our goal difference is better than the rest. Otherwise...

Our fate could be very much in United's hand.

Firstly, if they beat us on Saturday we'll be dragged right back into it.

Secondly, it could depend on what team they put out against Blackpool.

Lot of 'what if's' but we could be left needing a win on the final day.

It'll be interesting to see the FA's interpretation of United making 11 changes in that game?!

Ideal scenario, we beat United and we're pretty much safe.

2nd best scenario (regardless of our result against Man Utd)

Bolton to beat Blackpool [Ok form is against a Bolton victory, but after watching MOTD it seemed Bolton could/should have beaten Sunderland, the handball/penalty/sending off issue aside, they had plenty of chances]

and West Ham to beat Wigan [West Ham need a win to have any chance of survival, a draw is no good for them so they will have to throw everything at the Latics]

If Bolton/West Ham win all we have to do is avoid a hammering and we're safe.

Of course if we get a point and these results happen we can lose 100-0 at Wolves and stay up!

I actually think we'll get a draw against Man U, if you look at their away form its not too smart. However I can see Blackpool beating Bolton who's away record is abysmal and who've been waning badly the last few games. Wolves are capable of getting a draw at Sunderland as well. However if West Ham get anything at Wigan it'll put both of them beyond catching us.

Barring a win against Man U it will almost certainly go down to the final game.
