OK I'll believe you, it just sounded like you wouldn't. And that a lot of others were even more entrenched in their opposition to him than you!

Not at all. I am basing my opinion on not only the results, but also the way we have played.

If he keeps us up, I will go into the summer as a very relieved fan and so far as I am concerned, the slate is then clean for next season, with the manager.

For clarity, I do not blame the manager for the current mess, he was on a hiding to nothing.

I don’t look at that team and think it is a team that , if applying themselves correctly,  should be going 16 games without at a couple of wins.  If this was in November I’d be genuinely hoping for a win with that line up.

Even the bench is looking stronger than the last few months albeit without a striker.

It can be about attitude and hopefully we treat this as a must win game and go for it.

I do not want us set up to try and snatch a point.

Eustace will always have a problem winning over a section of the fan base due to who is perceived to have appointed him. Comparison has been made to Jim iley however the players didn't want to play for him so not a true comparison . He is more John Pickering to me.

    I really can't accept that.

If he had won 3 or 4 of his first 10 instead of the current none, I am pretty sure that he would have already won the fan base over. The facts are there in black and white and not only that, the brand of football has been very poor so far too.

If he wins today and again on Saturday, he will win a section over too and even keeping us up will probably do the trick.

I don't know if this was Waggott's appointment but given what GB has said repeatably about always a shortlist of replacements for JDT position and that GB presented these lists of different options to the board to decide who to appoint.

JDT clearly had a way out of the club before the QPR game and he was about to take it. I do wonder how long Rovers knew about the Sweden talks and I do think it would have been best to part ways last summer given what we know now

On Eustace, he isn't media savvy like JDT was or Allardyce was. Its probably a side of the job he doesn't like doing

Whether he was Waggotts appointment or Broughton's is a mute point. You asked about the circumstances that I was referring to in my post and my reply explained these circumstances.

I guess you are of the opinion of the jury is out at the minute, as I fail to see how anyone can be happy with him at the minute.

I am very unhappy with the appointment and as already stated, I will nail my colours to the mast and state that he will take us down and the blame falls with who appointed him as well as the guy himself.

I can see this, perhaps you and Waggott can't and if I am proved to be wrong, I will hold my hands up.

Do you think he will keep us up?

I made an exception for JDT as I found him extremely articulate and charismatic, him aside I’ve hardly listened to a manager (or player) since Ke*n - platitudes and cliches on repeat, no thanks.

He was honest too and I struggle to think of anyone else under these owners being honest and telling the fans, as it is.

Looking at the teams below us (excluding Rotherham) - since Eustace took over this mini table is as follow:

    Sheffield Wed - 8 played 13 points

    Huddersfield - 8 played 8 points

    Birmingham - 9 played 7 points

    Rovers - 9 played 6 points

    Plymouth 9 played 5 points

Extrapolating that form  to the end of the season produces:

    Sheffield Wednesday 47 points

    Huddersfield 47 points

    Rovers 46 points

    ——————————-

    Plymouth 45 points

    Birmingham 44 points

Everything’s going to be fine, right??…

Here is my view on the situation, using Rovers and  the teams currently below us and their remaining fixtures.

    Rovers

    Sunderland L, Southampton L Bristol City D Leeds L Sheff Weds  W Coventry D Leicester L 47 Points

     Sheffield Weds

    Boro L, QPR D,  Norwich D,  Stoke  W Rovers L West Brom D,  Sunderland  W Points  48

    Hud

    Stoke D, Millwall  W, PNE L Bristol City D Swans W, Birmingham D IPS L 48

    Birmingham

    PNE D, Leicester L Cardiff W, Coventry D, Rotherham W, Huddersfield D Nor D 49

    Plymouth

    Bristol City W, Rotherham W, QPR D, Stoke L, Millwall L Hull L 48

I heard his first interview. After that I concluded giving interviews wasn’t one of his strengths. After that interview I haven’t listened to another, he’s in the Mowbray class, he’d talk a glass eye to sleep.

I was told by a client of mine, who is a journalist for one of the red tops, that he is very uncomfortable doing press interviews, so what you say there, does appear to be spot on.

what circumstances are we talking about?

First of all Waggott seemingly having him lined up and ready to parachute in, once JDT was gone. The appointment was very quick, so had to be lined up in my opinion. Also with Waggott seemingly stopping JDT pointing out the incompetence and lies being told (in particular the Maguire transfer and his  pre match gagging order) he obviously wanted someone who would paint nothing but positives in his media interviews. These are the exact circumstances I am talking about and I therefore want to see some evidence of the positives, rather than bluster and waffle, before I can bring myself to listen.

I am sure some people are happy to gobble up the tripe, but I can't bring myself to listen, as I am now convinced his appointment was the last piece in the relegation puzzle.

I SINCERELY hope he proves me wrong, but the evidence so far suggests I am right.

Who says he is Yes Man.

If you don't like his interviews don't watch them. Your comments reminds me of people moaning about a TV show instead of turning the channel over

I agree, don't watch. I haven't watched a single interview yet. I can't bring myself to watch one, given the circumstances behind his appointment.

I know it won't matter to him, but I don't feel like I can get behind him at the minute. If he gets a couple of wins on the board and goes on to keep us up, I am sure I will feel differently, but at the minute, think his appointment was the final nail in the relegation coffin.

If we went down any sensible club would make a change. Here he will see out his contract regardless.

Of course some managers could prevent a side in 17th with was it a 7 point buffer with a third of the season left from going down.

It’s just another abysmal decision this, made by a man who is simply not accountable for his actions.

We will not win today or on Saturday so from having a 7 point buffer it will be down to none this time next week.

No doubt he will still be telling us how proud he is of the players and how we don’t have any must win games, but that’s  par for the course with a loser and I’m afraid that’s what he is.

With seven tricky matches to come, Eustace revealed he'd not even looked at the 3pm scores before kick-off against Ipswich Town. His sole focus is on ensuring Rovers control their own destiny by picking up enough points to stay in the Championship

Again I'm glad he's not letting any other teams distract him. Can't imagine how dire it would be if the poor chap had his focus elsewhere.

That either a lie or negligent. What next, “I don’t look at the table”.

  13. It’s highly likely that we will lose again tomorrow and again on Saturday. I’m going to predict we won’t score in any of there either.

I won’t quite put him in the same bracket as king rat, but he is reminding me a lot of Appleton.

If we do lose the next two, it should be thank you and good night, but I can’t see that happening.

A terrible appointment in my view and one we will regret.

  14. It’s already been pointed out that playing 5 at the back V Millwall and Plymouth at home was a mistake. Looking at what was happening in the first half V Plymouth and bearing in mind we were 1-0 up at half time, a competent manager, would have changed it.

Had we won one of those games, the pressure would be an awful lot less than it currently is, but the manager decided to announce it was not a must win game, before the Millwall draw. That’s the crux for me, it’s try not to lose instead of go for the jugular especially in those two games.

To still be winless after 10 tells me we have appointed a dud.

  15. It’s got narrow defeat written all over it. Much as we are desperate for the three points, we will be set up to be hard to break down. That nullifies us as an attacking threat and the lack of goals under the manager will be clear to see again.

A win will lift the gloom at least until the following weekend but I can’t see it and will go 1-0 to the home side.

  16. If you are employed to win football matches and you win none is ten attempts, it says you are not very good and the person who appointed you is not very good either.

We already knew Waggott isn’t up to it and with each passing game, the manager is proving, he isn’t either.

We won’t be removing him any time soon, but his appointment is the final piece in a jigsaw, that will bring relegation, that looks more like it was designed than not.

Naahh, it's a barometer / reality check for the remainder of the season. Might as well either gird our loins, or administer last rights. No point letting them duck the axe.

Found out this week that Ainsley Pears is dating one of my lad's old school chums.. She doesn't seem to have cottoned on to the definition of goal-digger just yet, but I'd wager she'll be offski if the financial outlook takes a turn for the worse at the end of the season. Watch this space 😉

Tell your lads friend, if he hands her a drink, to make sure she has something waterproof on, in case he spills it all over her.

I saw that a few days ago and watched the race form when it happened.

People will say there is no fixing in horse racing, just as they have when it comes to football, but there are plenty of examples of it all over the place.

You would think that someone as rich as a footballer had no need to get involved in such things, but hey ho.

So that’s the captain and his replacement as captain in a side massively short of experience they’ve bundled and tried to bundle out the door.

If we somehow stumble to survival this time, it’s only a stay of execution.

I guess I don't want to start the betting debate all over again, but it is starting to feel like someone at the club actually wants us relegated.
