First job should be to make Mulgrew captain.

Let me ask a question - of the " stay away/boycotters " how many will be returning on the strength of these latest appointments ? Not me for one.
I will be more inclined to go to the odd match than when Coyle was manager. Still not going back full time until venkys go.

His agent isn't Senior's wife is it? Probably a rumour started on twitter!

Worrying that he hasn't brought in his own staff.
Tried this with Berg and it was a disaster.
Obviously the cheap option.
Fingers crossed he doesn't praise the owners and lie in his first interview like Coyle.
Im underwhelmed but will give him a chance.

People at the club obviously planning for relegation now with Senior talking about an 'A-list' and a 'B-list' of transfer targets for summer. God knows what sort of quality on the B-list. Senior admits that "you don't need to spend money" on transfers, so I think we can read that there will be ZERO spend again in summer.
I genuinely think that the owners want relegtion so they can get rid of the high earners, reduce the annual losses, then focus on selling off assets like the training ground land and any other assets. Recoup as much as they can then put the club into administration. A second relegation next season is highly likely.

It's going to take a lot for anyone to pursuade me that Chris Brown is not the worse ever player.
Bruno Berner was bad though. Seem to remember him playing at Arsenal away and looking like he had never played football before.

The pity is that the league is a shambles this year, Bristol City are now 6th, didn't sound like they had any more quality than Rovers yesterday.
The manager is a crucial factor with most of the league having poor players.
I fear that Coyle has the Bowyer factor of pulling a win out the bag at the crucial moment. However relegation will be a certainty if he stays into the new year.
-
If you're sat near the back you'll still be able to see the whole pitch and goals, but when the ball goes in the air it is going to be behind the TV gantry.

I've not gone through the whole thread, so apologies if it's already been posted, but he mentioned that Paul Fletcher is his lawyer - I did a big of googling and found the website of the firm who represents Coyle for anyone who might be interested.
Where did you get Fletcher from? His son on Twitter said it was someone else i'm trying to remember the name.

More on the stats:
http://experimental361.com/2016/02/17/comparing-the-three-football-league-divisions-17-feb-2016/
in summary, we're fairly dominant in terms of shots faced vs shots conceeded, plus our defence is one of the most effective in the league - however we are one of the most wasteful in terms of converting shots to goals.

Eh?
Since the 30 minute mark at Fulham, Rovers have put some good football together but the defence still looks woeful at times. Let's see if we can keep this up. As Kamy writes, the Hull and Ipswich games will give a good indication of where we are going.
I think the last 3 games have shown that this team can be competitive in this league, and could possibly be challenging in the top half if we had a decent manager. The longer Bowyer stays, the more difficult it will be for someone else to come in and turn things round.

I am sure I have read several ITK's state that he presented a several year plan, last season was meant to be play-offs and this season promotion.
Shaw and Gaz both getting a lot of mileage out of us being in an embargo to cover up their flaws.

Painfull memories of the "keep a clean sheet and see if we get any luck up the other end" comments from Appleton before the semi-finals.
I think we'll lose, but hopefully play less hoofball.

We need a left back too!

Topman,
Yes but if someone had stood up in the crowd and shouted what Terry said they would get a long ban from football matches (if heard by stewards/police).
He is the national team captain, therefore a role model, so if he has said it then the punishment should be equal if not worse.

In my opinion I think Kean has been dragged in front of the board to explain results, he's blamed the SEM-appointed Jensen, despite at time saying JJ was his choice.
-
When Jensen arrived Kean made a big deal out of it being 'his' appointment. So in theory this should be his decision.
I hope someone has had the bottle to ask him about it in today's presser ahead of the city game.
Will Wendy on radio rovers quiz him about it on sat?

This will make the football world take note...

He's going to be lethal in the Championship

5)Rovers v Newcastle, home cup game maybe 1992? Speedie scored right in front of the Darwen end.
4)Rovers 5 - 0 Burnley April Fools 2001 - Mini vs Ferrari humiliation
3)Rovers 2 - 1 Spurs Cardiff 2002 - winning the cup against Spurs who thought they'd already won
2) Rovers 7 - 1 Norwich 1993? Think they might have been top at the time
1) Burnley 0 - 2 Rovers Dec 2000 Never will a game be built up like this one again! Just a relief to win!

is he actually *any* good?
No. Not any more - i've watched him play for newcastle over the last couple of seasons and he's been rubbish.
Even though he is old, Nicky Butt has been far better for them. Smith/Barton have been generally ineffective when i've seen them play.

Lets just see where Bentley ends up going. I initially sympathised with Neill's intension to play Champions League football, till he decided that £10k extra a week was more important than that.
I can it from Bentley's perspective and can understand that he wants to win medals and play in the CL. But like I said - we should reserve judgement to see if this is just an excuse like Neill.
-
Dunn has had some good games for us this year (Everton away and Bolton spring to mind)
As people have mentioned earlier, having Duff would put pressure on MGP and also give us a few options because he can play off the front man too.
I'd take him back --> fee and wages being reasonable, if not then leave it.
-
I wouldn't feel too sorry for Alladyce, like the above post says, he's got the players to work with, but he's trying to fit them into the Bolton style of play which isn't working.
Plus if he does get sacked, he effectively won't have to work again with £2-3m in his pocket!!

That must've been a very late winner for Burton, after the final whistle.
