So basically we've lost out on at least £850,000 (in reality probably more) by selling him this summer instead of loaning him out.
Absolutely, and you're right to say in reality probably more. If he keeps us his current form he'll break 20 goals this season and would be a target possibly even for lower ranked Prem teams. We should have been loaning him out this season and next, to a Championship club to see how he copes with that.
I would love to know the reasoning behind selling him.

I've read it now...
Oh no, I find it much more laughable that she said she was never really that impressed with footballers, yet proceeded to go off to bonk him after being merely asked, even after he kept chucking up everywhere. What a colossal slag. Assuming it's not just nonsense to sell papers, which nobody should ever put the Sun (or tawdry slags) beyond doing.
Spot on. I hope someone keeps a copy of the story and shows it to her kid when he's old enough to understand.

Solid Centre back. As long as our esteemed coaching staff remember that, he'll do fine.
-
Was it not said when we sold him that we'd put a first refusal clause in there?
-
Yeah I know - I'm referring to comments made by the commentators during the match.
I believe his previous prize money in darts was circa £16k.
-
Surely it's not true that he earns £8k pa in his day job?

Hello Homeboys who knows me,Ice Ice baby is back.
Word.
Peace.

Pedersen's too nice a lad and his confidence is in tatters from the bollockings he receives from his team-mates.
At one point in the second half McCarthy ranted at Pedersen for shooting instead of passing the ball. He was still ranting at him five minutes later.
Quite rightly so. Benni was unmarked stood next to the penalty spot. At this point the game was close at 2-1, had he squared it to Benni for a tap in we'd have made the game comfortable, Benni would've ended his bad run and we could have been sat here today discussing a 4-1/5-1 win, with both strikers back on top form.
For Gamst to shoot given the options he had was absolutely crazy. If I were Benni I'd still be bollocking him now.

Still think, looking at those clips, that we need to get his hair dyed again as they are nearly all scored when he had blonde hair.
And get "PEDERSEN" back on his shirt.

Painter (who looks like a fat Vinny Jones when he played for Wimbledon)
He he, true that!
The winner Part - Lewis/Painter semi final must be a hot favourite for the title.
BTW, while we're on lookalikes - anyone ever seen Adrian Lewis and Jordan in the same room?
-
The King is dead.
What a match - again!

Manley comes across as a guy short on the talent to be the best, so tries to compensate by being the most controversial. He's a decent player but I don't think any of the shenanagins do him any favours.
Great day of darts so far, Shepherd was excellent and Part-Wade was classic. I have a suspiscion we're heading for a Taylor-Lewis final.
-
What an odious little ###### this guy is. I hope a big hairy bloke called Julian befriends him on the inside, in more ways than one.

The World is against us. Woe.

Best wishes to Dennis Priestley who has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, he plans to play in the World Championship before having surgery.
Very sad news - always liked Priestley - if Phil Taylor hadn't been around he'd have been World Champion numerous more times than he has.
King Georges hall has finally been given the bullet as a Premier League Darts venue. Unsuprising really considering the trouble last year and the fact the event has obviously outgrown the location.Nearest location for 2008 is the MEN on the 14th February. Tickets £20 & £25
I'm unfamiliar with this story - trouble last year?

What is becoming ever clearer is how much of a unit Mark Hughes and his back room team are.
Losing them all would be a body blow to Rovers but absorbing them could be a head ache even for MU. Would Ferguson really want to see his entire support team lose their jobs when he retires?
No doubt club management/ownership and Mark Hughes have sat down and addressed all possibilities in pulling the new contracts together. What is not yet clear is whether the rolling element is continued, extended or ended.
If you think that would stop United approaching Hughes, or Hughes accepting, then you're dafter than I thought.

That's bloody cheeky! At 18 he's the best player in their team, from what I can gather. He clearly has a bright future - there's no chance we'd sell him.
He he

Thats a good point Dean, I saw that interview and didnt even make that connection.
I guess we still have the Spanish club aspect to worry about, but even there I can only imagine Sevilla of their top 4 wanting him. It may be worthwhile monitoring the Kanoute story closely for a couple of weeks.

Oldham Football Club say that Hughes "deserves a second chance". But the Graham family don't get a second chance do they ?
So what do you suggest? Capital punishment? What were people expecting, him never to be let out?
It sounds like the guy has done his time, behaved himself and is now coming out the other side. Sure the jail term has been too lenient, but that can't be blamed on Lee Hughes.
What he did was horrendous and in my opinion he should've been given a sentence so substantially longer that he would've been too old to play professional football by the time he was released. That aside, would the feelings be so anti-Lee Hughes if he wasn't a mega-rich footballer?

There are no games in La Liga next weekend. The next and penultimate game of the season for Madrid is away to Zaragoza on 10th June.
-
Bentley, Beckham and Owen are all in the full squad just named by Steve McLaren.
-
Eeeeexactly. You can just see it, Gamst puts over a superb cross like the one for the goal last night, no one is on the end of it....
"Where the hell was Benni there?! He should be on the end of those!"
"He's back on the halfway line, knackered from all that headless chicken running about he does. Bloody useless, 'im."
Rooney works hard - Benni has scored more. Tackling back wont win us games, goals will. At the moment he's scoring bucket loads.
