No excuse whatsoever other than to stay safe for his big money title shots in choosing such low opposition for the 'best HW around' - 'Fighter of the year'.

He and you are still trading off his win years ago hie DREW with Wilder that's the fact not the myth he also served a 2 year back dated ban for dope related offences. FACT

He' also had to be served the previously ranked 56th in the world to be able to find someone he could ko soundly, he's a hype job something plenty long term boxing fans have know for years he's just very good at convincing otherwise. After the Wilder fight, Fury was awarded round of the year, comeback of the year, and fighter of the year in various boxing polls. Plus recognised quite rightly as the number one heavyweight around, something many have understood for donkeys.

You are right about the division however. The robotic Joshua has been clinically and embarrassingly exposed, Wilder couldn't beat Fury even after he ballooned to 28 stone, huffer and puffer Whyte and now a reigning heavyweight champ with a beer back! Hilarious. Fury will completely dominate the likes of Ruiz, not get flattened four times and quit.

TUE's for Joshua have been mentioned for years after he gained large amounts of muscle very quickly earlier in his career. Even body builders said it was impossible to grow that fast. Believe what you will.

Both Kovalev and Yarde sound very confident. Rumours of Kovalev partying and drinking a lot, but he is still a far better level of opponent than Yarde has ever faced. Tough gig away from home. I watched Ward v Kovalev 1 again last night. That version of Kovalev is a real handful. 

Cambell has weight and reach advantages on Lomachenko. Two former Olympians. Loma is obviously the big favourite, but Campbell is far better than most give him credit for and is very skilled technically. It will be a good achievement for Campbell win or lose, if the fight goes all the way.

Fury beat the man who hadn't lost for a decade. Convenient how that has been forgotten. Yes he was given a draw with Wilder, but most knowledgeable boxing folk gave it to Fury, including the vast majority of former pros. Wonder what Fury would have done to him without having to lose 142 pounds in the build up? If Wilder couldn't beat him then, he will struggle in any re-match. 

Whyte himself now revealed as a drug cheat. Somewhat ironic Whyte failing that test after constantly mentioning testosterone therapeutic use exemptions for Joshua for about four years. Regardless, now Joshua has been exposed by a journeyman, Hearn will be desperate to try and get Whyte off the hook.

Looking forward to Luke Campbell and Anthony Yarde fights coming up. Glad BJS has signed with Hearn, loads of big fights on his platforms for middle-weights.

I think both eye sockets went in those fights. As to why he is returning then I imagine he will still believe he has unfinished business and is good enough to regain a crown. Absolutely no disgrace losing to those two. I don't believe he is cashing out and still has three of four big fights left in him. Wouldn't fancy the Spence rematch, but he fought brilliantly away to Porter and now he holds a belt that would be an entertaining rematch. Not bothered about the Khan fight, 3/4 years too late.

Fury did tremendously well. No real surprise to me. Clearly the best technical / defensive heavyweight around. Although a big fan of his ability, I did not personally believe he won the Wilder fight as easily as others have stated and was not unhappy with the draw. Getting up off the canvas twice did not help, nor the lack of punches thrown in the entire fight. Both fighters increased their standing however with Fury especially winning over a lot of new fans.

What was absolutely remarkable to me was the level of Fury's performance after dropping ten stone. Shedding that type of weight, following two years of substance abuse, has a hugely deleterious impact on core strength, stamina, timing, reactions, power and punch resistance and it was of little surprise that Wilder managed to land. Those still twittering about performance enhancing drugs need to move on. Ortiz, Whyte, Canello, BJS, etc, etc. Its never ending. Drug User Fury or Drug Dealer Joshua? Bit of a moral dilemma, but for me the past, is exactly that.

Looking forward to this year's boxing very much. Joshua will have to step it up again and fight either Whyte, Wilder or Fury. Interesting whoever he ends up against. Degale v Eubank looks entertaining, Callum Smith at Anfield beckons, Khan v Crawford in another tough match up for him, Broner v the Pac Man, the likes of Yarde and Buatsi and Dubois all coming along nicely as well. I think Matchroom are running 60 + shows, including Italy and USA and old fish eyes is loving being back in contention with BT support and a top fighter in his stable.

You are however quite right and it is a shame. Joshua and Parker picked the belts up out of the dustbin, all because Fury did what NO other could do and totally embarrassed Klitchko, AWAY from home. Not in London, just round the corner from home, with 80,000 cheering him on. By Fury's own admission he could fight much better than he showed against Klitchko.

Windmill Wilder, drug cheat Ortiz, drug dealing Joshua, Joseph Parker. Stiverne? Breazeale? Pulev? Whyte? Miller? Browne? Price? Dubois? You would certainly lose your house thinking any of the above would beat a fit Tyson Fury.

That is the thing Tomps. Fury hasn't even been convicted of a driving offence and you are going to look a tad silly if he is cleared of this PEDS charge. Joshua has been convicted of drug dealing, Mayweather wife beating, Marsh attempted murder, Mike Tyson rape and actual bodily harm, and all Tyson Fury has done is shout his mouth off. Behaviour hardly uncommon in boxing. 

Joshua fought Klitchko when he was 41 a fight recently voted fight of the year! Does that fight not count against a geriatric? Joshua has only had one fight by your logic, unless you rated Charles Martin, Breazeale, or a fat Dillian Whyte. Not that I agree with your reasoning. Rarely, if ever, do you get to mandatory for any belt after only two pro-fights.

I appreciate it irritates that Fury schooled Klitchko so easily, who then showed two years later that he was far from finished when he fought Joshua. Like I say, for me that performance clearly demonstrated he was head and shoulders above the rest.

Anyways, pleased for Masha Dodds and Rocky Fielding. Thought Ohara Davies recovered well after a bad defeat last time out.

As for the Joshua comments come on OOJW if you are a boxing fan you'll appreciate the completely different approach by Klitschko in both those fights he was prepared to go out on his shield in the last fight and in front of him he had someone who goes head hunting not running.

Hit and not get hit is the name of the game but you have to actually hit not flick your paw into thin air or bounce the underside of your glove off the top pf the head if you want to gain points or break down your opponent.  Difference with Tyson is he can switch hit round the earoles as he's going backwards or slipping a predictable shot, Hughie didn't.

Fury as he was v Wlad & AJ is a 50/50 fight but it's naïve to think Joshua wouldn't pin him down and land he would and it's a case of what happens then particularly after 5/6 rounds.

We can forget it though it's not happening big Tyson despite his words to the contrary will never be in that shape again, end of because deep down he doesn't really want it.

Blinkered? I predicted Fury would beat Klitchko. Those predicting he would get hammered were the gormless folk. Klitchko was frightened to death getting in that ring, job done by Fury pre-fight-night. 

Undefeated heavyweight, 6 foot 9 and 18.5 stone when fighting. A right handful for ALL and sundry even your poster boy.

If you are a boxing fan, apply some balance as it will help you work some of this out yourself.

For me, Fury summed it up the best.

Sums things up nicely for me.

Disappointed for and in Hughie Fury. Fought on the back foot for 12 rounds giving Parker the initiative and did not let his hands go anywhere near enough. Every time he threw the straight right he connected but it took him till the 6th round to throw any! I had Parker winning by 2 rounds 6-4 with two drawn. How two judges saw it 10-2 to Parker 118-110, I have no idea. I think a move to a different way of scoring should be considered. Maybe 5 judges?

Shame for Campbell against Linares. Unbeknown to me Campbell's father died two weeks ago and he was very emotional post fight. Creid to the lad for putting up a very good show in such circumstances. Again fought on the back foot too much however and paid the price against a good quality champion.

2, 3 and 5 have been a problem for ages in this England team. I think Cook has had 11 opening partners since Strauss, maybe more now.

I must say I feel I have been very lucky this last few years after 20 / 25 years years of test match misery growing up. The Windies dominated world cricket in the 1980's and then that Aussie team, took over for 15 years or so. Cook, Pieterson, Flintoff, Anderson, Broad and Root are either world class or have had some genuinely world class moments.

A quick word about Ali. Time and time again he demonstrates what a nice little player he is and apparently a top bloke to boot!

Looking forward to Hughie Fury versus Joseph Parker. Two young unbeaten heavyweights not afraid to take on a decent challenge to further their careers. Refreshing to see. I rate both Parker and Fury. Hard fight to call but I am edging towards Fury on a late stoppage, or points win. Both Fury's are very badly under-rated by most casual boxing fans, but they are big units with good footwork / skill sets and I think Hughie will be a right handful for Parker. Fury predicting the knock-out in round four.

Good to see Mcgregor bounced out of town with Mayweather simply walking him down and pushing him back. Mayweather probably used around 1/10th of his boxing ability in that fight, simply to give value to all those buying the event. Hope the cross over fights end there. How good is Mayweather? Absolutely dynamite! Watched all his fights and he has been head and shoulders above most others. An aging and retired Malinaggi would be a better fight against Mcgregor.

Good win for Callum Smith in the Super Series against a big unit, former light heavy weight. I think Groves and Eubank are in the other side of the draw so am expecting him in the final. Groves v Cox looks interesting, especially as Groves chose Cox for this fight. The Eubank fight looks interesting against some supposedly crazy Turkish mush.

Luke Campbell fighting Linares abroad in a tough looking fight. Linares has been down three times however and can be hurt around his whiskers. Hope Campbell pulls it off. I think I am correct in saying he is our most decorated amateur, ever. Decent fighter.

Cleverley was totally out gunned and out fought against Badou Jack. Whenever he moves up the levels he struggles. Time he wrapped up for me. 

Crolla v Burns - one of them will have to wrap up after a defeat. Another tough one to call but I am thinking Crolla on points.

Joshua v Pulav - having watched Pulav against Klitchko I can only see one winner here. Joshua sparking him out in 4 or 5.

Billie Joe Saunders looked much fitter and better in his last fight. No idea why the American did not let his hands go, but he looked emotionally very fragile in the build up and that may have played its part. BJS has no chance against GGG or Canello on that showing. Needs to up his game by 50% if getting in with those lads.

Wilder v Ortiz sounds interesting. Ortiz is older and that may play a part, but he is much more skilful than Windmill Wilder and I am hoping he wins as Wilder irritates cherry picking opponents and holding that belt hostage. Offered 3-4 million to fight Whyte (which he turned down) and taking less than a mill for the Ortiz fight apparently. 

Need the big fella back asap in that heavyweight division. Absolute disgrace what UKAD and the British Boxing Board of Control have done to Tyson Fury. Nearly two years in limbo on a PEDS charge? Two years to reach a conclusion? Effing ridiculous and something does not add up. Still fancy him to outbox all the other pretenders / challengers pretty easily including AJ.

Good times for UK boxing. A couple of very good fighters in Yarde and Dubopis signed for Warren. Yarde looks massive at the weight.

Moving on, two or three weeks after the Mayweather show there is a genuine boxing Mega Fight seemingly forgotten about in the excitement of MMA v Boxing. GGG v Canello. A fight I have looked forward to for a long time.

Kelly v Davies seems to have passed everyone's attention as well. Decent fighter Kelly, one to watch and it was pleasing to see Ohara Davies brought back down to earth.

Looking forward to the Super Middle Weight tournament and the Cruiserweight version of same is absolutely top notch with all the big boys (except Bellew) joining in.

Pleased for Eubank Junior. Dominated the fight from start to finish and his willingness to throw punches was always going to be a problem for Abraham. Won all 12 rounds on one card and 10 on the other two. Not sure what Abraham was up to, struggled to make weight and then looked to survive presumably hoping Eubank would tire.

I wouldn't read too much into Eubanks punch power on this showing. Better boxers and harder punchers than Eubank have failed to put a dent in Abraham.

Very pleased for Groves, on the fringes of world class for a while and has now achieved his ultimate ambition. Much improved under Shane Mcguigan and acts, looks and talks with increasing maturity. A handful for anyone at that level, unless Ward comes back down in weight. Degale having shoulder surgery out till Xmas. Smith fighting Dirrell away from home, but I fancy him to get the job done. Abraham fighting Eubank Junior at Super Middle. As long as Eubank wins some cracking fights to be made at that weight in the UK.

Well done to Joshua as others have mentioned. Especially seeing as Klitchko came to fight. Interesting how his ass totally fell out against Fury. Guess credit to Fury for the physcology employed prior to that fight as he did a real number on the former champ. Learnt a lot about Joshua in that fight, some good, some not so good. Every other heavyweight will have taken note at how easy Joshua gassed, his immaturity celebrating the win after the first knockdown and the fact he is often very square on with ponderous feet. Struggled to get his jab going at times as well.

Like Fury said, "Joshua has just gone life and death with a guy who couldn't even lay a finger on me". Don't fall for the Matchroom spin, Fury is just as likely to jab Joshua's head off for 12 rounds as Joshua is likely to land his big right hand on Fury. If it does go to points there is only one winner and I am genuinely looking forward to that fight if it ever happens. Egg = face = learning curves.

Venkys relegated us when they had a choice to make and they (or their advisors) chose Coyle. The #coyleout campaign was blasted last June by the "Give him a chance FFS" brigade but they are vindicated today. Not that it makes anyone feel better to say I told you so.

Lost it against Burton, Preston and Barnsley? 46 game season and we lost it all under Mowbray in those three matches? Two of which we drew. No mention of the countless defeats earlier in the year. Great argument Stu, couldn't agree less!

I think you have summed it up earlier. Fury hasn't fought since he won, Joshua keeps fighting lesser lads, Parker is new on the scene and Wilder has avoided the top boys wracking up some coin.

It's all to play for and hard to categorise anyone as the best.

Burns beats Crolla for me, good fighter Anthony but not in that top bracket I don't think, got a schooling on Sat night by a real top guy.

Parker I think will have too much for the other suspected roider and the top guy around is Wilder he's kept going and kept winning although he's been steered away from the other very top guys. I think that's been more about trying to create a couple of super fights to maximize the most money from than anything else though. Neverheless his record suggests he's the no 1.

I doubt Parker will knock Fury out and fancy Fury to win on points.

Wilder's last 9 fights have been against.

Fraudley Harrison - Liakhovich - Malik Scott - Stiverne - Eric Molina - Duhaupas - Szpilka - Arreola - Washington.

Three of these I have never heard of! Molina got bounced by AJ in 3. Arreola had lost twice for the title before. Harrison was useless and immediately retired.

Wilder has fought a succession of complete no hopers and there is no way you can pin that number one label on him yet.

Haye's a waster, a talker. Good fighter way back then but even if he is ready for November, he won't be sensible and take a warm up fight - he'll end up being battered by Fury on his way back.

Linares fought the wrong fight first time round and tried to take Crolla out early doors. This helped Crolla considerably. He reverted to his boxing late in he fight to take it away from Crolla frist time round. It was always going to be tough for Crolla if Linares boxed from the word go.

Saw Crolla lose to Dirty Derry a few years ago. Am amazed in hindsight he has achieved so much as I always thought he was pretty average and it is clear he has made the very best of his abilities.

Garcia v Linares should be a great fight.

Murray v Rosado at middle-weight should be a good battle!
