  1. Good game, Great goals for Germany. Who did Englang play, btw?
  2. Good prediction. And good joke too. Instead of Caneira, it's Ricardo Costa that will get his first WC game. Don't know if Scolari will make more changes but I sure hope he does. I would want him to use the less used players. For me, Portugal would play like this: Quim (GK) P. Ferreira R. Costa Caneira Boa Morte Costinha Deco Tiago H. Viana N. Gomes H. Postiga But I know it won't happen. So, besides the two injured, maybe only Costinha will be replaced by Petit. My prediction: Portugal 3 - Germany 0 In dives, Portugal 4 - Germany 2 (Portugal currently has 3 more dives than Germany )
  3. 2-0 for Italy. I want my Italian friends to be happy.
  4. I'm talking of true footballers
  5. Well, if the ref was not going to sent off Rooney for the stamping, he would be getting it wrong. Funny to know that C Ronaldo is the first to pressure a referee. Never saw that in EPL
  6. It's hard to say, really. The problem is that Scolari has his men and sticks to them. Nuno Gomes scored 15 goals this season and was part of it injured. He has done good seasons but suffers the same problem as Pauleta, doesn't work very well as a lone striker. However, he still works well for his team mates. Boa Morte would certainly be an option but, as I said, Scolari sticks to his men and Boa Morte and Nuno Gomes are not his first options, unfortunately. Hope they play tomorrow, though. The strikers I mentioned are mostly from the 80's and early 90's. I missed a very good one called Domingos, played for FC Porto.
  7. ROvers should also take a look at these teams that will get players from the relegated teams. It is likely that they will sell/loan some of their players cause they can't have more than 25 players in their squads.
  8. Real Madrid are getting ready to rake advantage of the scandal. According to Corriere dello Sport, they are going after Cannavaro, Zambrotta, Emerson and Kakà. Luca Toni is also a possibility. I wouldn't want to be in the shoes of these teams. They have to choices: make good money now or wait and end up making very little money. I wonder what the other sharks (Chelski, Manure, Barça, Inter, etc) are preparing... More newspaper news: Chelsea made a €30 million for Nesta. Roma to hold conversations with Lecce about Vucinic (€12million). Iaquinta is also a possibility.
  9. Sorry, just remembered that. It was a great move but a stupid one. He could have got red card for that. Well, he got it later anyway lol
  10. Well, didn't see anyone here mention that Holland didn't give the ball away after the ref stopped the play for a player to receive treatment when the ball was ours. But hey, it's holland, not Portugal! Need I remember you an episode involving Rovers a few years ago? Why do I get the impression that, even giving the ball back, you are being picky?
  11. Rooney by his actions has proved himself to be a scumbag
  12. I know portuguese players aren't saints and I disaprove of the diving and cheating that some of them do. It goes down to our league, where they are not punished enough, I think. But, someone actually managed to do some statistics on the WC. And guess what? Portugal are not the biggest divers, nor the ones who fake more injuries or the ones that cause more tantrums. (and I'm only comapring with the teams in the semis, didn't bother to make an average to compare to the others). We got the reputation, after foreign press, managers and players spending all the time moaning before and after games. And when it is done before, we all know that it is to take advantage of the situation. Funny how Portugal has the reputation and it was Argentina and Germany that started a fight after the end of the game. And Italy actually passed to the quarter finals by cheating and the worst was De Rossi. Statistics so far The magical spray should be banned from using so we could see who has real injuries that really hurt
  13. Italy picked up alright. A fake penalty against Australia, an offside goal against Ukraine when it was most likely an equalizer for the Ukraine. And calling english fans neutral when it comes to Portugal is too much of a nonsense
  14. We had a few: Gomes, Rui Águas, Nené, Jordão but nothing much. The best currently is Nuno Gomes (almost 100% of the portuguese agree with that) but Scolari doesn't like him much. Hope he lets him play saturday. At least Pauleta will probably retire from international football (finally).
  15. France defended well, they know Portugal doesn't have a strike force. Didn't like the negative game by France (Barthez was always wasting time) but that's football.
  16. The reputation was built by portuguese players and the foreign press. French players and national coach complained about it in the days before and the first player to dive in the game was Ribery. Ironic, right? Ricardo Carvalho got a yellow card too. The ref did ok, just forgot cards for the dives and some fouls. It seems he didn't want players to miss the final (only Carvalho and Saha will).
  17. Miccoli just said that today that outside Italy he'll only play in SL Benfica. He has a contract agreed with them, they are trying to get him on a free.
  18. In case Milan goes to seria B, there will be loads of players leaving (article in calciomercato.com) Hera are the players that will most likely leave: Kaka CAfu (back to Brazil probably) Dida Amoroso Jankulovski Vogel Seedorf Kalac Pirlo, Gilardino and Gattuso maybe If the prosecutor gets what he asked, there will be 10 to 15 players of each team going somewhere else. Maybe Rovers can't compete for the big stars but for some maybe Rovers can try to get one or two players. And the teams that will get those big starts will be looking to sell or loan some of their players also (no need to have more than 25 players in their squad).
  19. I'm not proud of the divers we have in our team, unfortunatelly it's something that will take some time to change. But other teams have divers, some won games because of it (Italy, for example). Just imagine that two teams assaulted each other after the game between them. So much fair play. There is also France, that took forever to come for the second half and delayed the game as far as they could.
  20. I'm ashamed of the diving some portuguese players did but I don't see you rant against Ribery, Zidane and Henry for diving. Anyway, calling my national team "scum" is an insult, at least in my poor english. But maybe it has some other meaning that I don't know of.
  21. Once again, better not to respond to insults!
  22. no need to post here after insult.
  23. Don't worry, Eddie. Only portuguese players do it. ENglish players never do that!!
  24. We lost the semis in Euro 2000 in a penalty 3 minutes from the end of extra time.
  25. Please explain why would Portugal benifit from Zidane and the others getting yellow cards. I think Italy would be the lucky team. Portugal as a similar problem but I don't care if Figo or any other gets the second yellow card and a ban for the next game as long as we win it today.
