  1. Portugal was terrible today but it is not quite a surprise. It is true that Portugal could have scored more goals but allowing Cyprus to score 4 is a terrible defensive display. After Deco, Simao Sabrosa and Paulo Ferreira quit the national team and with Cristiano Ronaldo, Bosingwa, Pepe injured, we still had a team to beat Cyprus. But I think that all the confusion and troubles surrounding Queiroz probably had a bad effect on the players. Queiroz has been suspended for 1 month inicially and now for 6 months because he insulted the chief of the anti-doping agency in Portugal prior to the WC. As usual, no one complained before the WC. After the WC, since some people don't want him as the national manager and they don't want to pay him to quit, they "discovered" this episode to make him quit. It is really a mistery how we have good players and good teams considering all the bad people that is in charge of the portuguese F.A.
  2. Couldn't agree more. It is a film made for "actors" like Van Damme, Stalone or any other action movie actor. Most people like it because it has Angelina Jolie. But, as a film, it is poor.
  3. Porto won 3-1 and Braga 1-0 so it will all be decided in the last game. I didn't see the game but, from what I've heard, it was a deserved victory for Porto. There was a lot of tension surrounding the game and, if Benfica won the title in their stadium, it would be embarassing for them and all kind of troubles would happen outside. There were a few problems before the game envolving the supporters. The best goal was the 3rd one by Porto: All goals here: http://www.tvgolo.com/futebol.php?subaction=showfull&id=1272827797&archive=&start_from=&ucat=39& But the funniest goal happened in Braga's game. Check out the second video: http://www.tvgolo.com/futebol.php?subaction=showfull&id=1272827765&archive=&start_from=&ucat=39&
  4. Huge game this sunday in Portugal... SL Benfica can win the the League if they win or draw (or Braga doesn't win) in Estádio do Dragao against FC Porto. They are the main rivals in Portugal and the tension is growing. The "organized" group of supporters are preparing for the game and do not promise any peace. Im hoping Benfica win the title in their stadium and also put Porto out of the champions league for next season. It would be perfect. Kick-off: 20h15 sunday If you can watch, expect much tension and probably not much football... lol
  5. Very sad when I heard the news. I was a good gk for Benfica. RIP Enke.
  6. News here report that Benni recovered from swine flu and started training for tomorrow's game. He was also called for the next two South Africa games.
  7. Benni has been called to the South Africa national team for the games against Japan and Jamaica. Elrio Van Heerden has been called as well. And Mokoena too.
  8. I think that the scouts should be watching games as often as possible. That way, you may find some good player that could be available for a possible loan on January.
  9. Someone from Blackburn was watching Benfica - BATE boresov yesterday. Benfica won 2-0 and Cardozo scored the second goal.
  10. Janko scored the winner for Salzburg against Lazio today...
  11. One of the few men in football that was respected by all. RIP Bobby Robson
  12. But,unless we sign a better striker, he should be Sam's first option...
  13. If Fletcher's arm was enough to make it a penalty, there will be penalties all the time. There is no way it was a foul.
  14. I think that the possibility of quiting from PL or even close the club should be considered after our recent run of bad results.
  15. So, we should sell Benni, Samba (poor form in recent matches), all the centre midfield (very poor)... And RSC if he stops scoring for 5 games
  16. I still have full confidence in MH. We've had some bad results recently but he is still one of the best managers in the PL. Hope he has the opportunity to get some new players in January (specially for midfield, in my opinion).
  17. I don't doubt that Benni may be underacheaving. But most of you have a problem with him. If he doesn't score, he is not good enough or he did it on purpose... I've seen the goals and our defense was terrible. Maybe Nelsen, Samba, warnock, Emerton and other want to leave Rovers as well.
  18. And maybe, just maybe, this is all press speculation, made to create problems inside Rovers and to get him to be transfered.
  19. I would suggest Scolari. His contract ends in July 2008, it is almost 100% certain that he will leave. I doubt Mourinho will take any national team in the next years.
  20. I'm sure the staff went around taking photos of the players to make sure that, if someone sugested they weren't there, they had proof that they were.
  21. Do you actually believe everything the press says?
  22. Well, I have to thank Neill for one thing: I now care for West Ham. I hope they lose every single game
  23. As a replacement for Tugay in the future, he is a good signing. But I still hope we sign a fully fit and on form midfielder, on loan possibly.
  24. Actually, i live in a big apartment that can accomodate a few people... If we get Braga, maybe something can be arranged for some...
  25. I would love to be Braga. They have a good team but I think we can beat them. It is close to where I live, it has lots of university students (75% or more are girls so wednesday and thursday night there shouldn't be missed. The closest airports are Santiago Compostela and Porto. It is easier to get from Porto to Braga. As for acomodation, I don't think it would be a problem.
