Quickly tuned in to see what the mood is like on the msg board. Same people moaning, questioning TM, the tactics etc. Such wasted talent sat at home in Blackburn.

We can still get something from this game. WBA were Prem last season, we were Div1. We have had an excellent start and yet  its all doom and gloom from the usual suspects. Pathetic.

I suppose you will be wumming Radio Rovers as well? both the commentator and Rovers media guy co commentating have said exactly the same things that have been said in this thread since the teams announced.

Bet you couldn't wait to get on the messageboard when WBA scored, all the fans fault eh!

Graham on is a must. I would Conway off. Then either Palmer or Rothwell off for Armstrong.

Armstrong will trouble this WBA team

Wouldnt take either Rothwell or Palmer off , I know its sacrilege for some , but for me take Dack off , Throw WBA's game plan off.

Conway and Dack off for Graham + either Armstrong or Brereton  - go 4-4-2

Rovers playing well so far. Rothwell and Palmer doing well

Certainly better than expected after the teams were announced, failing when we reach their box, seem to run out of ideas as there is no forward up there to play to

    Surely that was a penalty

Is anyone playing in their optimum position today? Defensive winger playing as attacking midfielder when we have an attacking midfielder playing on the wing. Another attacking midfielder is up front, a left back is playing CB, a CM is our other CB while we have a RM/CM at RB.

?You put your midfielder in, your forward out, your wing back in , out  shake it all about

Do the mowbraycockey and you turn around, thats what its all about

Whao - o  do the Mowbray cokey ?

Well, there you have it. We are a striker short but we play a £7m striker out wide.

Surely he should have mentioned our lack of width meaning we need to use players like Brereton and Armstrong, and even Reid, there?

Or does he really see Brereton as a wide man? In which case we could have got better for less cash.

More importantly would Brereton prefer Northcote or Shajan's.

Sale of Goods Act 1979 Section 13 (1):

“Where there is a contract for the sale of goods by description, there is an implied [F1term] that the goods will correspond with the description.”

We were sold a Championship regular and were given a League One sub.

Either Mowbray is using him wrong or he bought a dud.

On the plus side , we don't have to worry about the additional cost of any  x number of  goals scored add on

Which film is that speech from? I need to watch it to get the right context because I thought it was terrible.

TV mini series 10 Days to War, final episode

It is a changed/ abbreviated version from the original speech Link to full speech     .Apparently no audio or video exists as it was only covered by one journalist.

  8. Fair point Chaddy , think JB summed it up well on twitter  Link

Imagine the negotiations between Venkys and Levy. Insane.

Levy: We will give you 10m. 2m upfront, 8m when we win the league

    Balaji: I want 200m.

    Levy: 200m? Are you insane?

    Balaji: Yes.

  9. From a  twitter account Footy Accumulators https://twitter.com/FootyAccums

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to finally add to their squad this winter with Blackburn midfielder Bradley Dack being one of their targets!

    Via @standardsport

@standardsport is the twitter account for the Evening Standard, just had a look through the Spuds news on the ES site but can't find any mention of it.

Edit : Found the article on the Evening Standard , which says they are thought to have watched Bradley Dack . Other websites are now picking it up (and putting their own slant on it ) but this is the earliest source as far as I can see

Any Riversiders transferring to the Jack Walker for the QPR firework display?

    Fast forward JULY 2019 -

Speaking exclusively to the Lancashire Telegraph Steve Waggot  informs us that due to  the successful test of numbers transferring from the Riverside to The Jack Walker stand, the club are pleased to announce the closure of the Riverside to home supporters for the 2019/20 season , and as a special offer to former Riversiders, season tickets prices will only rise 50 pound but you will be eligible for 25p extra credit on your 1875 club membership and a free mug featuring the recently departed Bradley Dack :)

Usain Bolt scored 2 for the Central Coast Mariners in a pre season game; Bolt scores 2

Is it a marketing stunt or a genuine opportunity?

It is interesting. He is football mad, but spent the last 15 years running. Imagine having to mark him though? 6'5" and the quickest ever.

Who was the British sprinter who was on trial at Wigan (I think) years ago?

He has been training with them since late August, watched an interview with him the other week and he seems very grounded . Knows that chances of getting a contract with them are not high but giving it his best shot. Also interviewed the CCM coach who basically said if he doesnt come up to scratch won't get a contract. Both seemed fairly happy with the situation and how its going.

A league starts next week so be interesting to see if they sign him on considering there is only limited spots for Marquee and overseas players in A League Teams. Mike Phelan former Man U is their new Football Director so he is the one who is apparently overseeing Bolts trial with the club
