Why the hell do we always launch the ball into the box the second Gallagher goes off the pitch? I know he isn't great in the air but at least he's the right size for it.

Tbh we can blame the players for being bad but it's clear that Tony is messing around to the point that I wouldn't be surprised if they haven't a clue what's expected of them. The clown has to go and be replaced by someone who can actually forge a way of playing that creates stability and consistency.

Armstrong is so, so greedy.

At least he had the brains to take Buckley off.

Lenihan doing more attacking work there than anyone else has in the last 40 minutes.

I know I’m always on at him and I wish I wasn’t, but Buckley is doing absolutely nothing here. Unless he gets a hold of the game we’re playing a midfield three and not one of them is attacking.
To be honest I will settle for them actually keeping the ball for longer than half a second for starters, then we can worry about moving forwards

Lenihan taking out one of our own players... again. Never a defender.

What are we betting this week's excuse is. Can't be the pitch, can't be the referee... I'm guessing the injury to Johnson will be his go to.

Douglas lucky again this time that Kaminksi was alert to his flick on
Kaminski is far too good for us, I can't imagine how it feels to have such a useless defence in front of him.

"That's what Mowbray wants to do, get the full backs high up the pitch and in behind"
But why? There's absolutely no point putting the fullbacks up and whipping balls in when Buckley and Armstrong are the only ones in the centre, especially against a team like Boro.

BUCKLEY TOUCHED THE BALL!!!!

Branthwaite was solid the last day. I wouldn't be so quick to jump on his back just yet.
That kick though....
That was probably before TM could drill in his defensive instructions in

Has Buckley touched the ball yet?
I had forgotten he had even been brought on. Anonymous

Mowbray needs firing for this defensive "organisation" alone. It's been a mainstay his entire tenure here.
Every game, every attack you feel there are multiple mistakes that could lead to a goal.

It's high, but I'm not sure there was intent.
Intent doesn't matter, he's kicked him in the face!
Our defending against ball into the box is an absolute joke.

Why does Lenihan insist on challenging Branthwaite for headers? Christ, it's amateur
Because Lenihan isn't and never has been a defender, and having him as the permanent fixture is imo one of the biggest issues we've had over the past few years.

Many on here slating Souttar when we were linked. As usual I think many hadn't seen him. Looks very solid to me. Big strong unit.
Let's be honest we could have a prime Ferdinand and Vidic and Tony would have them looking like league 2 standard defenders.
Utterly predictable.

I still can’t believe that their nervy keeper hasn’t had one save to make and we’re 65 mins in.
Really? we've been like this since November.

5 points off the play offs 🤔
I wouldn't bother looking at that until we prove we can take a win off an even semi-competent team.

Literally his job and he hasn't sorted it despite having years to do so. If he only has one player that wants to win a game then that is on him. He signed them, he motivates them. Get rid.

Maybe I am being optimistic but Mowbray had a really haunted look all second half.
He never looks like he can be assed win or lose, part of the reason he needs his p45 ASAP

You know, after the Brentford fightback I was sure we actually had some fight in us, this time we drew 2-2 at Brentford not because we collapsed but because we were stronger... and the we follow it with another season of relegation level results.
Time to go Tony, I'm near the point where this dirge is masking anything good you did.
-
Please tell me there is no one left who is still under any delusion that we can make the top 6 when we can't beat anyone remotely close to the battle of promotion?
Do one Tony.

Imagine dropping Ayala though who started to look pretty solid with a run of games
This is half the problem - we finally get a new experienced centre back and we just drop him and continue to play the CM turned CB and LB turned CB which have proven time and time and time again that they're at best lower Championship level as a pair.

I really don't recall Gallagher being this bad when Coyle played him as a striker, I mean as far as that team was doing anyway.
The fact that TM was allowed to throw £12m at two players who never play in their actual positions is mind-boggling - especially when we already have Elliot, Dolan, Rothwell, previously Chapman etc who he refuses/refused to utilise in those positions in favour of them.
