  1. Bellamy goes, and we get Jeffers and Roberts. I'm finding it hard to feel anything but negative about that.

Jeffers was horrendous for Rangers last year, an absolute abomination. I rate Roberts but replacement for Bellamy? I think not.

We need to splash some cash on a big big signing up front. I'm not even sure Mido would be the answer.

    Disappointed tonight.

Finally someone who feels the same way as myself about our new signings. The fact that roberts most likely will play most of our games is not a good thought to be honest.. :(

  2. the board have always maintained we will buy 2 top players

i think your theory is very wrong

id put a tenner on us buying a new striker

roberts and kuqi upfront, woah well scared

We can all hope that we will sign two "top players", but this aint easy for a club like Blackburn. I just can not see Roberts or Jeffers being players Hughes would have near the top of his list. Surely other deals have gone out the window...

I would rather we signed Pongoll than Roberts to be honest.

Or maybe the other targets are still ongoing?

You don't buy a 28-year old PL striker for £2m to use him on the bench. Surely the player himself wont accept that. I think Roberts will play regular football for us this season.

  3. erm noooo

Currently we have Jeffers, Roberts, Kuqi, Gallagher and Bentley who can all play up front. I'm not so sure we will sign a big name striker. Not beacue we dont want to, we just aint able to bring anyone in. Surely Roberts and Jeffers was close to bottom on hughes' list of "targets", meaning we have tried but failed to get anyone better.

I think the rest of the transfer money will be used to buy players in other positions..

  4. This is interesting! According to the press Hughes was going to have a "face to face" meating with Reid about his future. It seems like our brilliant manager have changed Reids mind. I think Hughes have told him that we will sign some quality players this summer in order to be a force both in the PL and the UEFA cup next season.

I'm feeling much more optimistic than just a few days ago.. :rover:

  5. And as for this year's results... our Wizard of Table Predicting © (alias Scotty) was at his old tricks again this year...

    Too right, bob... too right.

Fairly happy with that one. Just a shame I wasn't the best Norwegian, sure Mr.Strangename beat me? ;)

  6. Am I hearing Norway? Great news if true, let's hope it's in the sivilized part! (nothing north of Trondheim please cool.gif )

    And obviously not Bergen..

Why not Bergen? At least they can play against a qualty team here. Makes no sense flying to Oslo playing Vålerenga, when they can take the bus and face similar opposition in Accrington Stanley... laugh.gif

  7. ROVERS: Friedel, Reid, Neill ©, Khizanishvili, Gray, Bentley, Tugay, Savage, Pedersen, Sinama-Pongolle, Bellamy.

Sub: Enckelman, Kuqi, Dickov, Mokoena, Peter.

CHELSEA: Cudicini, Del Horno, Carvalho, Maniche, Lampard ©, Crespo, Gallas, Geremi, Diarra, Gudjohnsen, Wright-Phillips.

Subs: Pidgeley, Johnson, Joe Cole, Duff, Carlton Cole.

To bad Nelsen did not make it, and you have to question why Dickov is on the bench and not Gallagher. Chelsea have a strong line up, this wont be easy..

  8. Watching the Suprs - Bolton game, and bolton should have been 1-0 up

Bolton have two rather easy games at home against Boro (got their mind set at UEFA cup final) and the relegated @#/?s of birmingham..

We have no chance of getting that 4th spot as Spurs will win against the West Ham reserves in the last game of the season.

  9. heskey - would be a very good fit for us, and to partner bellars upfront...a big man with ball control and pace, who is also good in the air.

    403397[/snapback]

Big man with ball controll? Give me a break, the guy is pure rubbish. Ask any birmingham fan, and they will tell you the same. Heskey is so not the answer for us, and he would just frustrate Bellamy the same way Kuqi does with his dumbass movement and crap passes..
