Is it not crazy to have unnecessary games on the pitch at the moment considering the poor state emanating from a couple of downpours on matchdays and the budget cuts from the owners last summer?

you have to have permission to play at a neutral ground doubt we would have got it for two rounds

It’s a premier league rule, you can name a maximum of 25 players who can make up your match day squad - I think you can have different players in  the cups.

Or they will be like a well oiled machine 😬

you can register as many players u21 as well as the 25

Despite being limited to the selected squad of 25 in-between transfer windows, clubs are able to include players outside the squad who are under the age of 21. This is designed to allow clubs to blood young players if they want cover for injuries or want to rotate the team.

    Or the 61-62 season - we played on March 24, 28, 30. April 7, 10, 14, 17, 20, 21, 23, 26, 28.

    Or the big freeze season 62-63 - March 25, 29. April 2, 6, 12, 13, 15, 20, 23, 27. May 1, 4, 13, 20.

    65-66 season was -  April 8, 9, 12, 16, 23, 30. May 2, 4, 7, 9.

I only remember the 65-66 season because it was my first season going on and i remember being there a what seemed like every other day.

Lee Dixon was co-commenting the City game on Saturday. He and Arlo White were discussing the Arsenal postponement. I missed a bit of it but Dixon was saying that Prem rules are such that you can't play the u-18's. I need to read some more on it but I think that each club has to name a Prem squad and there's a limited number in it. I also don't know how often it can be changed.

Either way, the Prem has to take responsibility. Arsenal played Liverpool in a cup semifinal last Thursday, then 48 hours later they were down to two men and a dog.

If Burnley really are using the rules to their advantage they are going to have some fixture pile up at some point.

It does not seem a problem for them to play youngsters in cup comps

No communication or refund of any kind after Saturday for those who paid for the season ticket. Cheers, RoversTV/Sky...last time I ever buy an annual pass. Shame, they could have had me contributing to the coffers for years this way.

Why can't they set up a deal so the overseas fans can watch these Sky games as part of their annual pass? Not as if we're going to be subscribing to Sky anyway are we?

Cant show sky games due to the EFL contract with sky nothing to do with the club

I know that these games are outside the normal schedule and I heard Steve Waggott say at the November Fans Forum meeting that Ben will be going - this is the minute: -

    7.      Ben Brereton Diaz - Chile

JW asked whether Ben Brereton Diaz would be travelling to play Chile’s next two World Cup qualifying games on 28th January and 1st February even though these were outside the usual International breaks. SW replied that, if fit, he would as the club would be sanctioned if they didn’t allow him to go. He would as a result miss one or maybe two league games in the New Year.

It's frustrating for Rovers as the Premier League are taking a week off to accommodate them but the Championship are not. And then on top of that Sky TV have moved our game on 22/1/22 to Monday 24/1/22 when Ben should already have set off for Chile.

could be a good weekend for a rush of covid cases not that i am saying others have used it

Yeh we are crap at throw ins in general and have been for years. But it's mostly down to poor movement. When the opposition have them, we give them too much space (less so recently) and when we have them nobody gets into space. It's why it takes Nyambe 5 days to take a throw in.

I have commented before and after watching the u18 on Wednesday and the u23 several times the whole club are crap at throw ins which is a surprise as there are more throw ins than anything else in the game , surely  its not beyond someone to coach the entire playing staff in taking them any advantage being better at them will help.

I don't think I've watched a single Cardiff performance at all this season apart from when we destroyed them but Moore obviously is their standout player.

Knowing he's out if you look at the rest of their squad, it's very uninspiring. A togetherness from their group sitting deep without fans to get on their back to attack will make life difficult so I think an early goal is crucial to draw them out.

I'm confident we'll get the early goal through Buckley and go on to win 3-0 with Brereton and Rothwell adding.

I have been going to long to ever be confident of anything rovers.

The campaign to discredit him is frankly baffling.

Note Forest have bought in two acquisitions already with more on the way.

What is it our recruitment department actually do?

I thought forest were close to breaking ffp rules in the summer so unless they are gambling on promotion  it might come back on they next season

I’ve been thinking about that ever since that game. I think the conditions didn’t help us but having said that we may get similar conditions again before the end of the season. We need a plan B for games like that. When we’ve played our football for 60-70 minutes and it’s not working. We need a game changer. I’d have been tempted to bring Ayala on and stick Van Hecke up front and see how they dealt with a bit of ale house style football.

Failing that we need a Berkovic/Bohinen type of player who can open doors. A more experienced/crafty version of Buckley that can come on a give us a good 30 minutes of subtlety in the last third.

something like a Bradley Dack at full fitness
