    Rearranged for Wednesday the 19th.

Works pretty well for us, this. Hull play on the Sunday, so we have an extra day to prepare. Maybe more importantly, our next game is on the Monday evening against Boro, so we still get the best part of a week before we next play.

wonder if it will be on the red button as it was down to be a tv game

As a team chasing promotion, anything less than 3 points at home is frustrating, so we shouldnt be afraid at home. That being said, Brereton is not known for his aeriel prowess nor are either of your suggested wide men especially Dolan known for their ability to cross.

did he not score with his head against preston

    Yep, was it Brittain?

We really couldn't live with him, he beat a man at will.

For a-wing-back, his forward play was exceptional, although I'm sure if we replayed the game, he may have been culpable defensively.

I would sign him, in a knee-jerk reaction, but he was quality.

i remember we signed a young lad from hudderfield after he had a good game against us in the dalglish days think he was called ireland and that didnt go that good for us

I have address your point tho. Leicester played fantastic last night. Didn't affect them but Rodgers used his squad despite injuries and Covid. He doesn't look for excuses like Tuchel and Klopp do. I have highlighted Chelsea in previous weeks schedule when Tuchel had no problem the schedule then cos they were winning. Now they are losing I blame the schedule for our form and the fact he has see his title bid falter whilst Man City are continue to win and get on with playing games

The PL sold the rights for games to this week and for teams to play 2 games with 48/72 hours.

These are professional footballers who should be more than capable playing 2 games with 72 hours. Plus these clubs have a 25 man squad and used them. Teams Liverpool and Chelsea have huge squads so used them

I'm surprised klopp dint moan that they were better prepared than us because they have been playing games

As a few have said credit needs to be given to Barnsley it's a while since we've been second to so many tackles and 2nd balls.

A tough lively hardworking no frills side who offered little in attack thankfully.

I must admit they wern`t the worst side i have seen this season thought their number 7 looked ok

I would agree and it certainly isn't nit picking. He needs to add a goal threat to his game as an attacking midfielder, in a few years he has 4 goals, 2 of which were pea rollers that got heavy deflections.

Another impressive performance from him though last night and 2 more assists.

trouble is if he adds goals we will struggle to keep him

But why in general are fixtures scheeuled within 48 hours of each other? Its illogical as it means that all teams either play weakened teams or risk injuries all under the guise of "tradition." Why cant those fixtures be spread out by a day or 2 extra, it benefits even the supporters who get to watch the best players avoiding injuries and/or weakened teams being played?

no they cant because they where sold as a package to amazon for more money

Very good game. One team looked like they'd played 48 hours ago and one team looked like they'd had a decent break. I hope someone makes this point to Jurgen Klopp when he moans about the fixture list.

I wish the premier league would ask Klopp at the beginning of the season when he would like to play so we don't have to listen to him moaning all season

I do think that is too easy to get fixated with how much the best footballers earn and go down the "they should get on with it on that money" but it means that there is a bit of tunnel vision being used.

I don't get what benefit playing 2 games within 48 hours has to anyone and I think people are justified to question it. It puts the players at risk of injury and for entertainment purposes, isn't it better to space the games out to allow reasonable time to rest and recuperate to see the best players more often?

the games come thick and fast at Christmas because they chose to sell a packet of games over Christmas to amazon to earn  more money

Time for a major season review and decide when tests should be taken then at least traveling fans, hospitality staff and companies including club staff know the day before if games are going ahead.

Where do you get the idea from that the EFL or Premier league give a flying F*** about supporters

Utter nonsense, Armstrong scored 28 goals for us last season. It isnt his absence that has led to us doing better, if we had Armstrong now we would be even more dangerous, there are so many factors that have led to our improvement. Stopping trying to have excessive possession and being more pragmatic. Pickering coming in and massively improving on the woeful left backs we had. Ayala staying fit more often. Buckleys development. Brereton coming to the fore boosted further by confidence from his Chile exploits. Travis returning to full fitness and sharpness. Rothwell being somewhat re-modelled. Khadra and Van Hecke being here. Wharton being back fit. Many sub par players being released rather than being relied upon due to an unusally compact fixture list last season. The list goes on.

I think all of our players would struggle in the Prem.

still i would like to find out with promotion  if they would struggle

Fair enough. A few hundred ticket sales potentially though, not just the odd one. Could be enough to need an extra staff member on what I assume might be a busy day. Still not sure what is achieved by withdrawing online sales though, unless that's a service we pay for on a daily basis.

i think it probably would not pay to employ an extra member of staff for an away match as they only get an administration fee from away sales

They still come into Brockhall everyday and train don't they, the fyldes of this world aren't full time are they??  Can they not play for both fylde and the 23s?

afc fylde are full time, Pike is only on a short term loan till early jan so could still go to a EFL league team for the rest of the season
